Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/4/17 Opening day was fun! Bryce Harper hit a home run, Clayton Kershaw dominated, and water is wet. We have our first "regular" slate of the season tonight, starting at 7 PM eastern. We have a strong 8-game slate with plenty of interesting ways to go at pitcher. We also have a few lineups in great spots against pitchers who probably shouldn't be pitching this early in the year. Let's take a look at the top options at each position. Remember, feel free to comment below or take part in the live chat at the bottom right of the page. You can also find me @VarneyDFS on twitter. With the recent mess the NBA has been, I've never wanted MLB DFS more. Opening day was a lot of fun, with a few dominant pitchers and a few offenses scoring 7+ runs. We have a solid 8 game slate on our hands tonight, with a bunch of above average pitchers at the helm. Still, there aren't many safe options. Maeda is the safest of the bunch and the guy we will look towards in cash games. Facing off with the Padres, Maeda should be able to mow through this lineup with ease. The Padres have found a way to get even worse this year, with Yangervis Solarte and Hunter Renfroe in the 3-4 holes. Wil Myers is the only above average hitter on this team and he is much worse against right-handers. Maeda, 28, transitioned extremely well from the Japenese League, sporting a .273 combined wOBA in 175 innings. The Dodgers are currently the biggest favorite on the board, with a -230 moneyline and a 7.5 over/under. The win should be safe here and a quality start is a near lock. Maeda may not have the same upside as the next two guys, but he is much safer than both. Lance McCullers FD 8800 DK 9500 Opponent - SEA (Iwakuma) Park - @HOU FD - 33.47 DK - 22.11 We go from one of the safer, pitch to contact pitchers that is built for cash games to McCullers, a...

We've got you completely covered. Does it matter? The NBA can be a very stressful DFS sport towards the end. When you combine the late scratches, resting superstars, and inconsistent play, it can certainly be frustrating. However, targeting teams that want to win are important. While not always necessary, I tend to roster players from these teams down the stretch, more and more as we get closer to the last game. Something to Play for Boston Celtics Charlotte Hornets Oklahoma City Thunder Memphis Grizzlies Milwuakee Bucks Utah Jazz Miami Heat Denver Nuggets Toronto Raptors Chicago Bulls Atlanta Hawks Indiana Pacers Cleveland Cavaliers Washington Wizards Nothing to Play for New York Knicks Los Angeles Lakers Dallas Mavericks San Antonio Spurs Philadelphia 76ers New Orleans Pelicans Brooklyn Nets Golden State Warriors Houston Rockets Phoenix Suns   Point Guard Kemba Walker FD - $7600 DK - $8000 Opponent - OKC Proj Pts FD - 41.09 DK - 43.64 With season-end quickly approaching, there are multiple teams with a ton to play for. None more-so than the Hornets, who must win out to stay in playoff contention. Walker single-handedly led his team to victory against the Nuggets with an insane 2nd half scoring spree. The Hornets will rely heavily on Walker for the rest of the year, as the rest of the lineup is either banged up or flat out unable to create a shot. While Walker presumably matches up with Westbrook, I don't think he has to cover him. I expect Batum or MKG to play on Westbrook, as Walker can easily cover Andre Roberson. That should allow Walker to keep his gas tank on F for offense, where he will be able to dice up this defense. Westbrook has ben struggling on defense all year and his interior backup has now started to falter. With Steven Adams struggling of late, guards have been able to attack the rim against the Thunder. If Walker is able to get a groove going, you can expect a huge outing. While Walker generally isn't a guy I touch in cash games, this scenario is different. He is guaranteed to shoot 20-25 times and play close to 40 minutes. In a fast-paced game with a lot on the line, don't expect a disappointment. Dennis Schroder FD -...

What We Know George Hill is out to play against the Wizards Hill missed last game and Shelvin Mack ended up playing 30 minutes. He isn't a guy I have any interest in tonight. Gordon Hayward also picked up some minutes and played a bit of point forward, which gives him a lot of upside. Hayward is a SF I have exposure to in tournaments. Malcolm Brogdon has been ruled out against the Pistons Khris Middleton and Matthew Dellavedova are the 2 that gain the most here. Middleton is the only one I have interest in as Delly doesn't have nearly enough upside for this slate. Middleton will see 34-36 minutes and have a chance to get hot from the field. Giannis could also see a few extra usage points in a pretty good individual match-up. Marc Gasol is out against the Mavericks Gasol has missed the last two, so we have a pretty good idea of what's going on here. Zach Randolph and Brandan Wright will both see big minutes and are good plays. Z-Bo is one of the top options at PF and makes for a tremendous cash game option. He fits the mold of a center in a small lineup. Robert Covington and Jahlil Okafor have been ruled out against the Cavaliers Okafor has been out for a while and Holmes + Long will continue picking up for him. As for Covington, Justin Anderson will see most of his minutes. He's a vry strong option against the Cavs where he will see close to 40 minutes. Ty Lawson, Kosta Koufos, Anthony Tolliver, and Arron Afflalo will all be rested against the Pelicans There is still no real place to look for the Kings. Sure, Willie Cauley-Stein can be used everywhere. After that, I don't have any confidence. Darren Collison is a great tournament play but lacks the safety for cash games. Garrett Temple could also see a few extra minutes and shots....

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/31/17 Eleven games in the NBA tonight with a bunch of bad defenses taking the court. Plenty to break down here on a Full Friday of basketball. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new Player Labs for both sports! We've got you completely covered. Point Guards Ish Smith FD - $5300 DK - $6100 Opponent - MIL Proj Pts FD - 29.39 DK - 31.03 After Tuesday’s crushing loss to the Miami Heat the Detroit Pistons playoff odds have plummeted to near zero (though thankfully they eked out a win against the lowly Nets last night). The Pistons have stopped short of declaring their star point guard shutdown for the year, but it is highly unlikely he will return. Without Jackson, Ish Smith will presumably get his 5th straight start and see up to 30+ minutes against the Milwaukee Bucks. For Smith’s last four starts he has been averaging 23 FD pts per game and really this average should be much higher if not for Orlando blowing out the Pistons where Smith only saw 15 minutes. Assuming the Pistons can keep it close (Bucks favored by 9.5 pts) I like Smith as a safe cash option. T.J. McConnell FD - $5600 DK - $6200 Opponent - CLE Proj Pts FD - 30.79 DK - 32.56 The White Mamba has been given some additional run since Sergio Rodríguez left with a left hamstring strain. Against Brooklyn he saw 35 minutes and dished out 10 ast and in his encore performance against Atlanta he saw 37 minutes and had 13 pts and 8 ast. The coaches son is a pure PG, so it isn’t unfathomable that TJ dishes out 9 ast and grabs multiple steals against the Cav’s defenseless Kyrie Irving. I really like TJ due to the fact that he has no true PG backup with Rodríguez and Bayless out. TJ’s reasonable salary makes him a safe cash option. Kemba Walker FD - $7600 DK - $8100 Opponent - DEN Proj Pts FD - 41.02 DK - 43.45 Buzz City has basically nothing to play for since they have basically been eliminated from the playoffs, but tonight they get a prime matchup against the Denver Nuggets who let up the most fantasy pts to point guards. Additionally the Nuggets let up the 2nd most amount of assists and steals and the third most...

What We Know Reggie Jackson will remain out against the Nets Reggie Jackson is supposedly "resting", though I'm pretty sure Stan Van Gundy is just tired of seeing his face. Ish Smith will get the start and is one of the best plays on the day. KCP will also see a few extra shots and minutes. Austin Rivers will not play against the Suns Rivers left last night's game and Doc Rivers said he will likely be out for a while. Jamal Crawford will pick up a few extra minutes and he has a great match-up with the Suns. Crawford is one of the better value plays on the board. The "Every Lineup" Guys Ish Smith Ish Smith will start once again with Reggie Jackson out, and in result see at least 35 minutes. This match-up with the Nets is a perfect one for Smith as he relies on transition buckets and open shots. Jeremy Lin is one of the worst defenders on the perimeter and he will have no chance of staying with the speed of Ish Smith. Smith is easily one of the fastest guards in the league and should be able to use that well against the Nets. They have no rim defense either, as Brook Lopez isn't a guy who cares much about defense at this point. Smith is a guy I will have 100% of in both cash games and tournaments. Jimmy Butler The Bulls and Cavs will face off in one of the games that has the most to offer DFS-wise. The Cavs and Bulls are both in big spots and want this game in a big way. Butler has taken a huge load for this Bulls team with Wade out and Rondo struggling. Butler will definitely see the defense of LeBron James, which is as tough as anything. However, he has done well against the Cavs in the past as he isn't a guy who just relies on...
