Cleveland Pacers at the Indiana Pacers Cleveland's stars combined for 89 points from the field in game 2, leading Cleveland to a 2-0 lead in a game that felt nowhere near as close as the final score would indicate. It was a little disconcerting that they couldn't close the Pacers out more convincingly, but that's more important for people who actually care about who wins and loses these things. What we're looking for is close games, and this series has provided them so far. I'm really keying in on the 44 combined shots from LeBron and Kyrie after 47 from them in the first game. It's clear that the Cavs feel like they're heavily favored at those positions, and it's hard to believe they'll try and fix what doesn't seem broken. But what to make of Kevin Love? The single digit shots in back to back games weren't great, but you have to love the huge increase in minutes and rebounds from Love in game 2. It bore out what we thought might happen going into the series - Love should be a mismatch for Young, but it didn't play out that way in game 1. Love DID run hot from the field (and the line) in game 2, so I don't think we want to count on him for quite the same final line as we did in game 2, but he's still a very interesting option. The big question mark on the Cleveland side of the bar is obviously JR Smith. I don't think we want to trust him (even on a clean bill of health), but what if he sits? I guess it depends who gets the nod, but you could almost take the combined line from all the other shooting guards from game 2 and be disappointed on a minimum salary. I might consider Korver there? But I can't say I'd be excited. As for the Pacers, we saw more minutes out of their starters than we did in game 1. Paul Gerorge got there even on increased prices, and it's pretty clear that he's plans A, B, and C. It was reassuring to see more minutes out of Myles Turner, and we...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 4/19/17

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/19/17 It's been a damn interesting playoffs so far with just about every game staying competitive. This is another great night of games with more than a few subplots. Let's get into it. Atlanta Hawks at Washington Wizards Atlanta put up fight in Game 1, but the Wizards were still able take the game 114-107. Predictably, Washington played their backcourt of John Wall and Bradley Beal big minutes. Those two, along with Markieff Morris led the way for the Wiz with Wall putting up a particularly impressive 32/14/4 line. Dennis Schroder is really no match for Wall defensively and considering the former’s on-ball time, he makes for another high floor play in Game 2. Only because the other big money point guards are in good spots makes Wall possibly under-owned on this slate. Because of the minutes and production in the first game, I think you see Markieff as a popular play on this slate in the PF slot. If he’s going to see this much court time for the series (presumably to match up with Millsap) then I consider him a safer play in the middle price tier. On the Atlanta side of the ball, I’m not seeing a ton to love from a DFS perspective. At a low $4K Taurean Prince is mildly interesting considering he’s still starting and playing low 30’s minutes. He actually outshot Millsap 11 to 6 and took the second most looks on the team. I’m not sure that usage is sustainable going forward, but the Hawks are a weird team and I’m fine mostly avoiding them on this slate. Oklahoma City Thunder at Houston Rockets Well the first game didn’t live up to the hype with the Rockets blowing the doors off of a Thunder team that looked completely overmatched. It was close at halftime, but Houston stepped on the gas starting in the second half with James Harden leading the way. He finished with a 37/9/7 line thanks in large part to the 28 shots he put up. For the most part, the rest of Houston was fantasy after thoughts thanks to Harden’s dominating usage. Expect more of the same from the Beard tonight and really the only question is if you can pay all the way up for him. Both...

DFSR’s Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Friday 4/18/17

DFSR's Daily Fantasy NBA Podcast for DraftKings and FanDuel Friday 4/18/17 DFSR’s Doug Norrie and James Davis take to the NBA podcast to discuss the three game Tuesday slate of games. There’s a lot to unpack as we learned quite a bit from the first games in each series. The Bucks pulled off a huge win against the Raptors in game one with Giannis and Middleton leading the way. They make outstanding plays again tonight with Greg Monroe a value coming off the bench. The guys also discuss Kyle Lowry’s struggles in game one and whether there’s significant cause for concern with him going forward in this series. Then they talk Celtics-Bulls and how Jimmy Butler continues his big minute ways for Chicago. The rest of the Bulls are sort of their typical mess of minutes with bench guys once again outplaying dudes like Rondo and Mirotic. And finally there’s the Jazz who will once again be without Rudy Gobert. They break down what that means for both teams. All of that and more. Subscribe to this podcast on...

We've got you completely covered.   Milwaukee Bucks at Toronto Raptors The Bucks pulled off a huge win in Toronto in Game One, made even more impressive by the rowdy nature of that crowd and the fact that they won the game going away. The Bucks gave the Raptors fits with their length and shot 40% from beyond the arc. What's even more impressive about this win is they got the line only 15 times as compared to the Raptors' 33. Again, it was an impressive win and has to have Toronto more than a little worried going forward. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 28 points and was able to get the rim early and often against a variety of Toronto defensive looks. He played close to 40 minutes and remains a solid cash game play again tonight. I love Khris Middleton tonight as he played over 40 minutes and actually ran a little bad from the field. There's upside for sure on his prices. I wondered if Greg Monroe would see increased minutes in this series and he did in the first game, going 26 on his way to a 14/15 line. He makes a solid C play at a tough position. The Raptors had all sorts of issues on the offensive end against the Bucks. Kyle Lowry couldn't get anything going as Milwaukee contained him to the perimeter for much of the game. Demar Derozan was able to score and I still think he's a decent play in the mid 8000's on FD. The fantasy goodness came from Serge Ibaka who went 19/14 in 36 minutes. He'll be a chalk cash play tonight after that performance and it's probably correct. The GPP play here would be Lowry who, after struggling in the first game, will be underowned and still has upside if he can get it going from beyond the arc. Chicago Bulls at Boston Celtics The Bulls...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/17/17 Greetings all! Monday means we get a repeat of two of Saturday's contests, and while a lot of what played out was fairly predictable, we still have some pretty serious adjustments to make as we walk into Monday. This article with focus on what we've learned about the minutes and opportunity situations from game one of the Spurs/Grizzlies and Pacers/Cavs series. Let's dive in! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and our new MLB player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. We've got you completely covered.   Indiana Pacers at Cleveland Cavaliers So game one was a nail-biter - a 109-108 that saw the Cavs almost giving away the game in heartbreaking fashion. But what about the daily fantasy implications? Let's start with Indiana. We were nearly spot on in projecting their minutes, but oddly, only Paul George (and Lance Stephenson, more on him in a minute) turned in a performance worth getting excited about. He did play 41 minutes and scored 43.5 fantasy points, but there are some red flags here that make me a little less than excited to prioritize him for Monday. First of all, he ran hot from 3, going 6-8 on many contested jumpers. This is obviously above expectation, and he resorted to 3s primarily because the rest of his offensive game was so stymied. And the worst part? The price has gone up. I'm not sure I want to go back to the well there. After him, Turner was decent, and everyone else was pretty disappointing. Except for Lance Stephenson. In a throwback to the old Pacer days, Stephenson cut through the Cavs' second unit on 8/13 shooting, posting 16 points, 7 boards, and 3 assists. This high-energy Stephenson is a great sign not only for the Pacers' chances, but for our fantasy purposes. He's not super cheap, but the upside there seems to be real. As for the Cavs, it was the full on LeBron and Kyrie show. Each shot more than their season averages in terms of shots, and both paid their respective prices. Well the prices have gone up for game 2, but on a small slate, both look like very reasonable options. But what about the rest of the gang? Love was obviously the odd man out in game 1, which was somewhat surprising given the presumably soft match-up with Thaddeus Young. Still, the plan was obviously to attack...
