Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 4/25/17
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/25/17 Lot of questions for tonight. Is this the last time we see Mr. Triple-Double for the playoffs? Do the Grizz keep fighting? Will Gordon Hayward be able to keep down his dinner? So much to ponder for a three-game slate of playoff NBA. Oklahoma City Thunder at Houston Rockets Oof what a game that was on Sunday. I was at a family birthday party and missed the candles getting blown out because it was in the midst of the Hack-a-Roberson, OKC furious comeback and I have a little thing called priorities. It was a near gut punch loss for OKC who battled and ultimately had a couple of mistakes along with run bad that stopped them from picking up the win. Russell Westbrook is obviously the main attraction here and it’s hard to imagine him not just playing practically the whole game considering the impending elimination. He’s not exactly efficient and dude’s crazy expensive but he’s been basically getting there on these insane prices. I don’t see him as a must play with the price and lack of solid cheap options across the board, but the 35/14/14 line from Game 4 is tough to argue with and he’s looking at a lot of court time. Steven Adams and Victor Oladipo could be cash game staples tonight considering how much they also stand to play. Adams saw big minutes (kind of out of nowhere) in Game 4 and was productive on both ends of the court. Considering how concentrated the Thunder minutes are at this point, starting all three in cash (with maybe an Andre Roberson toss in) makes a bunch of sense. The fact that James Harden had by far his worst game of the series and the Rockets still pulled off the win tells you almost everything you need to know about this matchup. Look for a bounce back game from him especially in regards to getting to the line. He only had 6 FT attempts in Game 4 after 18 and 20 the two games prior. The rest of the Rockets are all a little overpriced even for a short slate. I can see some people playing Nene after last game, but I’d rather play Adams at the same price. Memphis Grizzlies at San Antonio...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/24/17 We've already ended one first round series with the Cavs finishing off the Pacers yesterday and we could see the Warriors wrap things up tonight. But the NBA playoff train rolls on and we definitely have some interesting ways to take things with this three game slate. Milwaukee Bucks at Toronto Raptors With the series knotted at 2-2 the series heads back to Toronto for game five. After the Raptors punted Game 3 losing by thirty in a game that they didn’t appear to even leave the locker room for, they came back and won Game 4. Credit Dwane Casey who made a rather radical starting lineup pivot last game in taking Jonas Valanciunas in a bid to go super small and fast with Norman Powell at the three, Carroll at the four and Ibaka at the five. It was a bold move with Powell playing a ton of minutes and very strong defense. Prices haven’t really corrected on him and he’s a borderline must play in cash games if the Raptors keep the same starting lineup. The other key for the Raptors in Game 4 was Demar Derozan finding his form again going 12-22 from the field and finishing with a 33/9/5 line along with 4 steals. I think that’s of course the upper end of what we can expect from him, but he’s a strong play again tonight. The Bucks couldn’t hit anything from beyond the arc last game going only 24% from three on 21 looks. They’ll of course need to do better in Game 5 to have a shot at retaking the lead in the series. Giannis Antetokounmpo struggled with turnovers last game, giving up seven in 42 minutes. He’s had a decent series, but will have to limit mistakes here and it could be an issue with the Raptors choosing to go smaller. I still see Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon as something of values for the Bucks though the latter saw drastically reduced minutes in Game 4. Middleton’s price has come up as well and he’s very scoring dependent to hit his mark. I suspect we’ll be looking away from the Bucks (in general) on this slate. Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks Somewhat randomly, the Hawks blew out the Wiz in...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/23/17 Another four game slate! By this time we'd expect things to be a little bit more predictable, but each of these series features some real uncertainty. The crazy thing is, I'm still not sure where the value might be hiding. Still, you came here for value, and value we shall find. And then there's the Blake news - can we really trust Speights? And what about Chris Paul's big usage spike? Let's dive in. Cleveland Cavaliers at the Indiana Pacers Well Cleveland mounted one of the best comebacks in playoff history, and sadly, it didn't show us very much about what their plan will be going forward. Unless you think they are going to tilt pull Kyrie and Love in the future, I think we just have to use game 2 as our proxy for their minutes. I'm still high on Kyrie in particular, and obviously, LeBron is in another world right now. As for the Pacers, there is a little bit of intrigue there. I'm fairly confident they are going to pack it in and call it a series as soon as even modest adversity presents itself, but they at least tipped their hand as far as what the plan is when the going gets tough. The plan? Try and win on the back of Paul George and Thaddeus Young. Both look like good plays going forward if you can count on the increased minutes, but after that, things get pretty sparse. Houston Rockets at the Oklahoma City Thunder Whaddya know, the Thunder won one! While Westbrook was up to his old ones and putting up huge numbers (though barely enough on his astronomical prices), the real take-away from the OKC side is how they deployed their big men. They took minutes from Steven Adams and Jerami Grant and passed them over to Taj Gibson, who was awesome. Gibson also happened to shoot 13 shots, and it looked like the Thunder finally figured out a way to punish the Rockets for paying Ryan Anderson at power forward. Roberson also seems to be playing as many minutes as he can physically survive, and remains a solid value even at increasing prices. As for Houston, they tightened up to an 8 man rotation and made their best effort...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/22/17 A four game slate of NBA basketball is here! The last game each of the series on tap today brought some manner of surprise, but does it change our baseline expectation for what we're planning to see, or who the good plays are? Let's dig in. Toronto Raptors at the Milwaukee Bucks Well, that happened. After Milwaukee's drubbing of Toronto in game 3, I'm not sure there's really a whole lot that we can really take away from this game. I don't see any of the future games as particular blowout risks, and this one looked a lot like a game where poor shooting on one side and good shooting on the other side let the game snowball out of control. What are the major takeaways? Well, Middleton was excellent even in slightly reduced minutes, and he continued to affirm the notion that the Raptors really have no answer for him. Giannis would have handily paid his prices had he gotten his full set of minutes, Brogdon showed some promise, and Greg Monroe demonstrated his considerable points per minute upside. Which is to say, basically nothing changed here. As for Toronto, oy. DeRozan got completely shut down, Lowry couldn't make up the difference, and Ibaka went back to being never seemed to have the ball in his hands. All in all, it was a complete disaster. That said, I don't think we can really PLAN for disaster going into the next game. I think we need to continue to build on the assumptions from game two. I'll paste below my thoughts after that game, which I think still apply. Milwaukee leaned very heavily on Giannis and Khris Middleton. Both of them appear to be solid, high floor cash game options going forward. Brogdon played a lot of minutes, but had the ball in his hands way less than he did when playing minutes like those during the rest of the season. It looks like he's out there to chase Lowry down primarily, and I'm sure if we can count on him for much offensive production. Greg Monroe was still excellent on a points per minute basis, but it was disheartening to see him lose so many minutes. He's looking more like a big tournament only play for...
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 4/21/17
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/21/17 Well, last night we witnessed an all-time great comeback on the part of Lebron and the Cavs' second unit. It was really something to behold. Unfortunately we got the other side of things with that Raptor performance. The NBA giveth and the it taketh away. Here's to hoping for a solid three games tonight. Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls It’s officially panic time in Boston. They’ve lost the first two games of the series and Game Two wasn’t particularly close. The Bulls got near peak performances from some of their starters and looked moderately rejuvenated considering their personnel. After going through most of the season with hodgepodge rotations. They’ve settled into the playoffs playing Jimmy Butler and Rajon Rondo huge minutes. The latter turned in a fantastic game last time out with an 11/14/9 line and added in 5 steals in 40 minutes. He’ll likely get similar run in Game Three though it’s worth noting that he’s seen a big price increase (especially on FanDuel). Butler meanwhile isn’t Jimmy Minutes for nothing. He played 42 last game and will almost definitely see a similar amount here. He’s expensive though does make an interesting price pivot off the two other big names on the slate (we’ll get to them in a bit). Robin Lopez has seen solid, low 30’s, minutes and has been efficient both in scoring and on the glass. But he, like his two teammates above has seen a price bump on both sites because of it. If anything, Dwyane Wade remains the strongest dollar-for-dollar deal on the Bulls and he was second on the team in shots last game with 16. I like him at a tough to fill shooting guard slot. Meanwhile, Celtics shook up some of their rotations last game but it didn’t seem to matter much. They lost the rebounding game and struggled from beyond the arc. Isaiah Thomas could be one of the best values on the entire slate tonight. He finished with 42 minutes and the Celtics are going to need his scoring and playmaking in this one. He’s able to “hide” on D with Rondo playing big minutes and that makes it easier for Thomas to stay on the court. From a DFS perspective, the rest of the Celts...
