Washington Wizards at the Boston Celtics Hey now, something new to write about! The Celtics pounded the Bulls after being gifted a Rajon Rondo injury, and you have to think they're flying high with their new lease on life. You have to think they're going to be attractive fantasy options to start this series for a few reasons. First of all, Washington plays a much faster game than Chicago does, playing the league's 10th fastest PACE as opposed to the Bulls' 20th. While Chicago is a weaker team defensive than the Wizard are, the uptick in pace should largely make up the difference at many positions. I am a little concerned about Isaiah Thomas going into this one though. The Wizards have been a black hole against opposing point guards, allowing the 4th fewest fantasy points per game to opposing ball handlers this season. The Wizards are a little better than league average against opposing shooting guards (which should hurt Avery Bradley slightly), are roughly league average against opposing small forwards, and were considerably below league average against both power forwards and centers. Unfortunately for the Celtics, Al Horford is really the only guy poised to take advantage of Washington's big men deficiency. I do think he's an excellent play going into this series, though. As for Washington, the Celtics play a similar pace to the Hawks but at a worse defensive efficiency, making this a step in the right direction as well. An obvious winner here is John Wall. Against most teams the Celtics can just stick Avery Bradley on whomever they perceive to be the stronger wing threat, but the dual threat of Wall and Beal make hiding Isaiah Thomas a lot more difficult. Wall should get an easier match-up than a normal PG of his caliber would against Boston, and that feels like a good thing for a guy who's already carrying a huge load. Speaking of Isaiah Thomas, I wouldn't be surprised to see him draw Otto Porter on defense...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 4/28/17

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/28/17 We've got three elimination games going tonight and before you know it the second round will be upon us. There's plenty to dissect here as we have a pretty clear picture of teams' plans this far into a series. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and our new MLB player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks The Wizards took Game 5 to take a 3-2 lead in the series and put the Hawks on the brink of elimination. Washington showed (and they’ve been showing time and time again) that they need their starters to play huge minutes to have any chance of consistently winning in the playoffs. Their bench is such a downgrade that you should continue seeing 40 minutes at least out of John Wall and Bradley Beal with at least one of them on the court at all times. Wall once again led the way last game with a 20/14/6 line. He struggled a little from the field but will still be a chalk play again tonight. The same for Beal who scored 27 in 41 minutes. I suspect you see high ownership on both of these guys (they were each 90% or so on FanDuel last time out). The rest of the Wizards starters are in play as well. Otto Porter has a solid Game 5 scoring 17 thanks in large part to his trips to the foul line. He went 9-10 from the stripe but still only played 31 minutes. The run is a bit of a concern as he just isn’t playing huge minutes as consistently. Marcin Gortat struggled to score but still played practically the entire game and makes for a decent center option. And then there’s Mr. Foul Machine Markieff Morris. I really believe the Wiz want to play him a lot but he just can’t keep his hands to himself when covering Millsap. Foul trouble has buzzed off his run in four of the five games this series. Meanwhile, on the Atlanta side of the ball, they were led by Dennis Schroder who went for 29/11 in 38 minutes (his most of the series). He was lights out from the field and especially from three (5-6). I don’t think you see the same kind of production again and he’s just a bit overpriced. Paul Millsap was super chalk on FanDuel last...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/27/17 Two elimination games tonight, and you can bet that these teams are going to leave it all on the table. Both series have featured big blowouts and close games alike, so where are the minutes and production going tonight? Let's sort through it. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and our new MLB player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. Toronto Raptors at the Milwaukee Bucks In what has turned into the first round's least predictable match-up from game to game, I'm sort of at a loss here. The games have been high and low scoring, blowouts on both sides, and the odd close game here and there. Norman Powell has gone from complete oversight to the highest scoring fantasy player on Toronto in game 5, and the Bucks have fluctuated between having 1 and 0 relevant daily fantasy basketball options from night to night. But it's a two game slate, and it's going to be tough to fade it altogether. So where's the value? Well, I suppose it is in the projected minutes. We know Milwaukee isn't resting anyone with their backs up against the wall, so Giannis seems fully in play for sure. Middleton has been reasonable, Brogdon has occasionally provided on his too-high prices, and Greg Monroe has chipped in the occasional spark off the bench. Any of these guys seem playable, if unexciting. On Toronto, Ibaka has been very steady, taking advantage of the Bucks' depleted front court. Kyle Lowry has been the more consistent of their big 2, with Powell taking some of DeRozan's shine on the wing. PJ Tucker seems like an interesting big tourney play... and after that, it's pretty damned barren. The existence of this game on a 2 game slate might make the whole thing a stay-away, honestly. San Antonio Spurs at the Memphis Grizzlies Did San Antonio wake up and remember that they were supposed to sweep this weird Grizzlies team? I say yes. Two underwhelming performances in a row created lots of doubters out there (including yours, truly), but the Spurs came raging back with a convincing win in game 5. Mike Conley was the only reasonable daily fantasy performer on the Memphis side of the ball, but it was very reassuring to see that Memphis stayed on plan in terms of minutes across all of the other guys we'd hope to play...

DFSR’s Daily Fantasy MLB Podcast for FanDuel and DraftKings – Wednesday 4/26/17

DFSR's Daily Fantasy MLB Podcast for FanDuel and DraftKings - Wednesday 4/26/17 DFSR’’s Doug Norrie and Austyn Varney take to the Wednesday podcast to discuss the evening in baseball. The big question to start is whether Noah Sydergaard is the clearcut cash pitcher. He’s been dominant again this season and has the highest money line of the night at -196. He faces a weaker Atlanta team outside of Freddie Freeman. They also discuss other arms like Carlos Martinez (if the weather holds), Dylan Bundy and James Paxton. On the offensive side of things there’s obviously a Coors game to break down. They discuss whether ownership will be even higher than normal over there because of the outpouring of runs last night. After that game they discuss the Diamondbacks, Rangers and even the Phillies as a mini stack. Be sure to subscribe...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/26/17 Only two games tonight and neither of them an elimination game. But that doesn't mean the stakes are any lower. There's plenty to dissect here on a short NBA slate. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and our new MLB player lab! We've got you completely covered. Atlanta Hawks at Washington Wizards The Hawks have fought their way back into this series and won the last two games going away. A big reason Atlanta was able to hold Washington at bay in Game 4 was the reemergence of Dwight Howard who played his most minutes (30) of any game in the series went 16/15 for the game. This is likely an outlier game for the big man as he’s often more a liability in this series than an actual puzzle piece. I can see folks over-buying on him based on the Game 4 performance and I think that’s last time we see that kind of game from him. From a DFS standpoint, Atlanta is a tough nut to crack because they really like to spread the love. Hell, Kent Bazemore was the value star last game with a 16/7/4/3 line but I woudn’t bank on that either. I’m just not that interested in the team for cash games considering most of their pricing has leveled out and no one is playing big minutes enough to warrant the salaries. The Wizards meanwhile are very much the opposite. They need every single freaking minute from the starters because the bench represents such a massive dropoff in talent. John Wall, Bradley Beal and Otto Porter all played around 40 minutes in Game 4 and should do so again tonight. Each of them are elite values on this slate and I’ll likely play at least four Wizards in cash tonight. They have the highest minutes floor of any team on the slate. Wall had a bit of a down game with “only” a 22/10/5 last time out. Beal was a monster with 32 thanks to putting up a team high 23 shots. They will be highly owned. Porter hasn’t had a great series but it’s kept his price down. Markieff Morris ran into foul trouble and I’d expect something of a bounce back game from him. And finally, Marcin Gortat went HAM on the boards with 18 rebounds though he only scored 2 points in the game. If...
