Pitchers Matthew Boyd FD - P 9700 DK - SP 11400 Opponent - SEA (Tommy Milone) Park - SEA FD - 37.29 DK - 20.81 I was skeptical of Boyd's hot start to the season, but after 21 starts with a 12 K/9 I probably have to concede that he's fundamentally better than he has been in the past at this point. A hat-tip to FanGraphs, which wrote this article in April that detailed the work Boyd did in the off-season add velocity to his slider. All that work has paid off, and Boyd is now the owner of the 11th highest xFIP in all of baseball among qualified starters. Today he'll get an interesting match-up with the Mariners, who make for a pretty polarizing match-up for opposing left handers. The Seamen have posted the 11th highest wOBA against lefties this year, but have also struck out at the 5th highest rate in the league. Given Boyd's newfound strikeout prowess and the lack of other ace level options in good match-ups, I think he's the first guy on my list for cash games today. Robbie Ray FD - P 10200 DK - SP 10800 Opponent - MIA (Elieser Hernandez) Park - MIA FD - 37.92 DK - 20.56 If you're looking at our top two pitchers at a similar price point, it's hard to make the case for Robbie Ray. He strikes out slightly fewer batters than Boyd (though he does have a better track record of maintaining absurd K rates), walks more than twice as many, and hasn't gone as deep into games this year. The case for him essentially comes down to the match-up, where the Marlins are .001 OPS points away from being dead last in the Majors against opposing lefties. They don't strike out a ton, though, so I think I'll just take Boyd here regardless. Still, it might be a day where we can roster both on DK, and I'd be open to doing so. Also considered: Chris Sale, but the risk is obvious given that he's facing the Yankees. Catcher/First Base Yasmani Grandal FD - C 3300 DK - C 4400 Opponent - CHC (Jose Quintana) Park - MIL FD - 12.18 DK - 9.09 J.T. Realmuto FD - C 3100 DK - C 3900 Opponent - ATL (Kevin Gausman) Park - PHI FD - 11.3 DK - 8.67 Well, it seems like these two are basically the...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 6/27/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! With two slates on this schedule, we're going to focus on the night slate. There happens to be five games in the day slate and a robust 10 games in the nightcap. There's not a whole lot of weather fortunately and that's all we can ask for as DFS players. Pitchers Steven Matz FD - P 6400 DK - SP 6900 Opponent - PIT (Trevor Williams) Park - NYMFD - 28.65 DK - 14.57 While Matz has been wildly inconsistent this season, we really like him at this price tag. He's actually out best per-dollar play on the board, as we believe he should be closer to $8,000 on each site. A 4.75 ERA and 1.46 WHIP shows why this price is so low but he's much better pitcher than those numbers would indicate. Not only does he have a 4.13 ERA and 1.32 WHIP for his career, his 4.01 career xFIP also shows that he's been pretty unlucky. Getting to pitch in Citi Field is huge too, with Matz generating a 2.54 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 10.2 K/9 rate at home so far this season. Facing Pittsburgh is the icing on the cake, with the Pirates ranking 19th in runs scored and 18th in xwOBA. Gerrit Cole FD - P 12000 DK - SP 12000 Opponent - STL (Daniel Poncedeleon) Park - STLFD - 44.7 DK - 25.54 Cole is easily the highest-priced pitcher on the board and it's easy to understand why. The 3.03 ERA and 1.00 WHIP speaks loudly but his 205 strikeouts are downright absurd. That leads the league and he's actually on pace to set one of the best K rates in Major League history. That's obviously ginormous for DFS purposes, especially against a lineup like this. Not only does he gets to face an NL lineup without a DH, the Cardinals currently sit 20th in runs scored, 23rd in OPS and 24th in wOBA. Catcher/First Base Mark Canha FD - 1B 2800 DK - 1B/OF 4300 Opponent - TEX (Adrian Sampson) Park - OAKFD - 10.97 DK - 8.31 Matt Olson FD - 1B 3700 DK - 1B 4500 Opponent - TEX (Adrian Sampson) Park - OAKFD - 12.61 DK - 9.42 We absolutely love the Oakland A's on this slate and these two are actually a pretty good value. Let's start with the Rangers pitcher, as Adrian Sampson is definitely an arm we want to exploit. The...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 7/25/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Jose Berrios FD - P 9300 DK - SP 10600 Opponent - CHW (Lucas Giolito) Park - CHW FD - 35.4 DK - 18.67 We have a smaller six-game slate on Thursday night so let's focus on the pitching duel between Jose Berrios and Lucas Giolito. I am leaning Berrios here, at least for cash games, for a couple of reasons starting with the fact the Twins are early -145 favorites and the Twins offense is much more dangerous than the White Sox who have an ugly 73 wRC+ and 28% K rate since the All-Star break. Berrios doesn't provide the same upside as Giolito from a strikeout perspective but has been very consistent holding opponents to three or fewer earned runs in 10 straight(2.53 ERA) while averaging over six innings per start in the sample size. I will have exposure in all formats tonight. Catcher/First Base Matt Olson FD - 1B 3700 DK - 1B 4700 Opponent - TEX (Ariel Jurado) Park - OAK FD - 12.47 DK - 9.32 Mark Canha FD - 1B 2900 DK - 1B/OF 4500 Opponent - TEX (Ariel Jurado) Park - OAK FD - 10.55 DK - 7.98 While the Yankees are the clear #1 team tonight in terms of implied runs, Oakland may be my favorite from a PTS/$ perspective, especially if considering a two top pitcher approach on DraftKings. The biggest thing tonight is the matchup against Ariel Jurado who has split time in the bullpen and in the rotation but has given up four or more earned runs in five of his last six starts and sits with a 4.92 ERA/4.89 xFIP on the season. It starts with Matt Olson who has been scorching hot since the ASB with hits in 11 of 12 games and has plenty of power upside with 21 home runs on the season. Canha has been consistent all season(considering the price) with a .376 OBP and 142 wRC+ and has also been hot since the ASB with hits in 10 of 12 games. I will have exposure to both players in all formats tonight. Roberto Perez FD - C 2700 DK - C 3500 Opponent - KC (Mike Montgomery) Park - KC FD - 9.74 DK - 7.36 At catcher, I will be focusing on Roberto Perez who leads the way in the PTS/$ rankings at the position at a value price on both sites. Where the real...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 7/24/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 7/24/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Pitchers Early Justin Verlander FD - P 11000 DK - SP 12100 Opponent - OAK (Chris Bassitt) Park - HOU FD - 45.42 DK - 26.26 Vince Velasquez FD - P 6400 DK - SP 6200 Opponent - DET (Jordan Zimmermann) Park - DET FD - 25.14 DK - 12.93 It isn't the most desirable slate for pitching and the gap in talent is huge at the top so I will be riding with former Cy Young/MVP winner, Justin Verlander. While it has been eight years since those awards, he has since finished runner-up in the Cy Young three more times and since coming to Houston has been one of the elite arms in the league. He comes into tonight with a 2.99 ERA(fourth-best in AL) and supporting 3.63 xFIP but where he really stands out is with his slate-high 32% K rate and 15.7% swinging-strike rate. The A's have been league average in terms of wRC+(100) against righties but this is no ordinary righty and JV showed this when he faced the A's back in June going eight innings, limiting the A's to four hits, one earned run, and struck out eight batters. Verlander is easily my top pitcher in all formats on both slates despite having to value shop at other positions. For a value SP2, I will be looking to pair Verlander with Vince Velasquez. Despite having a rough start to his season(4.87 ERA, 4.74 xFIP), he has struck out over 26% of batters and faces a Tigers team near dead last in all offensive categories including a K rate just over 26%. Main Shane Bieber FD - P 10100 DK - SP 10500 Opponent - TOR (Marcus Stroman) Park - TOR FD - 37.13 DK - 20.38 On the main slate, we have two plus options at the top of the salary in Shane "don't call me Justin" Bieber and Noah "Thor " Syndergaard and while I will have exposure to both tonight, I lean Bieber in cash games. He is #1 in my model tonight and second in raw points behind Verlander on the entire day. He is coming off one of his worst starts of the season against the Royals but has rebounded beautifully this season when giving up 4+ earned runs as he has followed each of those four starts with 9, 15, 7,  and 12 strikeout performances. Overall, he enters Wednesday night with a tidy 3.69...

Get started for free by clicking the button below.START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW!We have a full 15-game schedule ahead of us for this Tuesday slate with minimal weather. The cities we do need to key in on are New York and Milwaukee though, with both projected to have rain in the forecast. With that in mind, let's get to some aces...PitchersChris Sale FD - P 10200 DK - SP 11000 Opponent - TB (Yonny Chirinos) Park - TBFD - 42.22 DK - 24.31Sale has returned to his ace form recently and he's tough to fade on every slate. After struggling mightily in his first four starts of the season, Sale has rebounded to a 3.25 ERA and 0.99 WHIP over his last 16 starts. More importantly. Sale has 158 Ks in 99.2 innings in that span, which is simply one of the best K rates in the Majors. Strikeouts are king for DFS and there's no better bet for double-digit strikeouts when Sale takes the hill. Tamps Bay has a propensity to strike out too, ranking 23rd in K rate this season. Stephen Strasburg FD - P 10000 DK - SP 10700 Opponent - COL (Jon Gray) Park - WSHFD - 40.12 DK - 22.04Strasburg has been one of the best pitchers in the game this season and we always have to consider pitchers against the Rockies when they're on the road. Something changes with this offense when they step out of Coors Field, as they have the worst road OPS in the Majors dating back to last season. That's extremely worrisome against a guy like Strasburg, who's pitching to a 3.52 ERA and 1.09 WHIP this season. He's done that while striking out 151 batters across 127.2 innings of action, which is scary against a Rockies offense who ranks 26th in K rate. Catcher/First BaseEric Thames FD - 1B 2800 DK - 1B 4500 Opponent - CIN (Tanner Roark) Park - MILFD - 11.14 DK - 8.36Thames price has only gone down as the season has progressed and that simply makes no sense. This dude has been killing righties throughout his Milwaukee tenure and that's carried over to this season. Since 2017, Thames has a .529 SLG and .888 OPS with the platoon advantage in his favor. That's why he traditionally bats in the heart of this potent lineup and that's huge considering they're projected for more than five runs at the friendly confines of Miller Park. Paul Goldschmidt FD - 1B 3100 DK - 1B 4000 Opponent - PIT (Chris...
