Pitchers Sonny Gray FD - P 10200 DK - SP 10600 Opponent - SEA (Marco Gonzales) Park - SEA FD - 37.84 DK - 20.24 Gray is in the middle of one of the best seasons of his career and in large part to being one of the best pitchers in baseball in the second half. He has gone 5-1 and has allowed more than two earned runs just once in 11 starts for an eye-popping 1.61 ERA and while that is a little run-hot, the xFIP(3.86) is still above average.  The big factor here for me tonight is the matchup against the Mariners who have really struggled lately scoring the third-fewest runs(42) over the last 14 days with an ugly .269 wOBA,68 wRC+, and 26.8% K rate. All things considered, Gray is my core pitcher in all formats. Zach Davies FD - P 6900 DK - SP 6700 Opponent - MIA (Pablo Lopez) Park - MIA FD - 25.57 DK - 12.31 There is not a whole lot I like in the value range tonight for a cash game SP2 but one name that stands out is Zach Davies who opens as a -150 favorite and gets a huge park upgrade on the road in Miami. His splits also back up the price increase he has seen as he enters the night with a 2.83 ERA on the road(4.71 on the road) and while he has limited upside(15.2% K rate) he has been consistent lately allowing two or fewer earned runs in three of his last four starts. I wouldn't consider on fanDuel with the lack of quality start or K upside but will be using him as a cash game SP2 on DraftKings to allowed me to pay up for Gray and some top bats. Also Consider: Cole Hamels(CHC) who also gets a park upgrade on the road in San Diego facing a Padres team that has struggled lately(.287 wOBA, 76 wRC+) and strike out 24% of the time vs. left-handed pitching   Catcher/First Base Paul Goldschmidt FD - 1B 4300 DK - 1B 5100 Opponent - COL (Antonio Senzatela) Park - COL FD - 17.72 DK - 13.34 The system is very high on the Cardinals once again tonight and for good reason, as they come relatively affordable on both sites and get the Coors Field boost. They also get an even better matchup than last night as they will be...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Thursday 9/5/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Early Zach Plesac FD - P 8600 DK - SP 8100 Opponent - CHW (Reynaldo Lopez) Park - CLE FD - 27.68 DK - 14.66 After flying through the Indians farm system, rookie Zach Plesac has been having a solid season in the bigs posting seven wins in 17 starts with a 3.61 ERA and while the xFIP(5.10) suggests some regression, he has attacked weaker opponents very well this season. Great news as he will get a terrific matchup this afternoon against the White Sox who have struggled to a .301 wOBA, 87 wRC+, and 26% K rate over the last 14 days and are the only team in that time without at least 10 home runs. We have a small sate today with some of the top pitchers in sub-optimal matchups making Plesac the easy play for me considering his price in the $8K range on both sites. Also Consider: Logan Webb(SF) to save even more salary at the position and load up on bats Main John Means FD - P 7400 DK - SP 6100 Opponent - TEX (Kolby Allard) Park - BAL FD - 26.72 DK - 14.09 Strasburg is easily the top pitcher on this slate but to fit him on DraftKings along with some top bats, we are going to need some value and for me, it comes in the form of John Means. After it looked like his run-hot ERA came to end through a down stretch from the middle of July to the middle of August, he has picked it back up allowing just five earned runs over his last three starts while averaging 20.4 DK/35.7 FD points per game. He is in a great spot to continue that run tonight facing a Rangers team with an ugly 84 wRC+ and 26.4% K rate vs. lefties and has also been struggling a ton over the last seven(62 wRC+) and 14 days(49 wRC+). At his price on DraftKings, we are looking for about 12 points(2x) to hit value and also gives us about 4x upside.  He is in play in all formats for me tonight. Also Consider: Stephen Strasburg(WSH) if playing up or rookie Kolby Allard(TEX) who looked terrific in his last two starts(12 IP, 2 ER, 12 K's, 1 BB) Catcher/First Base Early Carlos Santana FD - 1B 4000 DK - 1B 5100 Opponent - CHW (Reynaldo Lopez) Park - CLE FD - 14.34 DK -...

Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! If you're in your season-long playoffs like I am, this is arguably the biggest week of the season. That's why these articles are so important because it will help people in whatever formats they choose to play. While this is DFS-centric, all of this information can help you to examine players in particular situations. I've learned so much about splits from all of these articles and it's a great tool to gain knowledge. Pitchers Mike Montgomery FD 7300 DK 4300 Opponent - DET (Daniel Norris) Park - DETFD - 27.36 DK - 13.75 This is a total puny play but Montgomery is one of the best DK values I've seen all season long. That $4,300 price tag is actually below many of the premier hitters and it's going to be tough to fade him at that sort of price. The reason for that is because of this matchup, with the Tigers ranked dead-last in runs scored, OBP, K rate and xwOBA. Montgomery has been much better recently too, pitching to a 2.45 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 9.5 K/9 rate over his last five starts. That's all you can ask for from a $4,300 pitcher with the best matchup in baseball. Jack Flaherty FD 10000 DK 10500 Opponent - SF (Dereck Rodriguez) Park - SFFD - 40.87 DK - 22.07 Now that we got a punt play out of the way, let's get a higher-end option into our build. Let's start with this matchup, as he faces one of the worst offenses in baseball. In fact, the Giants currently rank 25th in runs scored, 26th in OBP, 27th in wOBA and 26th in OPS. That's truly scary against one of the hottest pitchers in the game, with Flaherty pitching to a 1.01 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 11.1 K/9 rate over his last 10 starts. Vegas couldn't agree more with our assessment, projecting the Giants for less than four runs while making the Cardinals a -280 favorite in this game.  Catcher/First Base Carlos Santana FD 4000 DK 4800 Opponent - CHW (Dylan Cease) Park - CHWFD - 13.2 DK - 9.84 We are definitely going to want some exposure to the Indians tonight as they lead all teams in implied runs(6.3). They are at home and will be going up against Dylan Cease who has but nothing short of a disaster this season and after giving up eight earned runs in his last start now enters this matchup with a 6.92...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 8/31/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Pitchers Stephen Strasburg FD - P 11200 DK - SP 11200 Opponent - MIA (Pablo Lopez) Park - WSH FD - 41.73 DK - 19.92 The clear number one today, and it's not particularly close. Not only is he the best pitcher on the slate, as we'll get to in a second, but he arguably has the best match-up as well. The thing he brings more than any other player on this slate is the strikeout upside, as his 10.58 K/9 is almost two better than Lucchesi and three better than Keuchel. Kershaw is a comparable pitcher, but he's just so expensive relative to his lower K rate that it isn't worth it. As for the Marlins, they have the second worst wOBA in the Majors against right handed pitching while striking out at the 6th highest rate. Fade Strasburg at your own peril. Joey Lucchesi FD - P 7800 DK - SP 9100 Opponent - SF (Logan Webb) Park - SF FD - 30.09 DK - 15.7 It's been an up and down ride for Lucchesi and his fantasy owners this season. He's going deeper into games than he was last year, but he's shed almost 1.5 K/9 off of his excellent age 25 season. Still, 8.61 K/9 and 3.00 BB/9 isn't an awful package at these prices, and when you start comparing him to the other options on the slate, it looks even better. The Giants are the fourth worst team in the league against left handed pitching this season, and it's only getting worse as they give more young players a shot. It's a fantastic match-up in a fantastic park, and that's enough that right now our system is picking out Lucchesi as an interesting option in all formats. Dallas Keuchel FD - P 8400 DK - SP 9600 Opponent - CHW (Reynaldo Lopez) Park - ATL FD - 29.04 DK - 14.67 Yep, tonight's pitcher two options come down to a couple of cheap left handers. Keuchel's much anticipated signing has actually paid off for the Braves so far, and while he's not at Cy Young levels, he's still pretty effective. His 60.7% ground ball rate would be the best in the Majors if he had thrown enough innings to qualify at the position, and he's added nearly a K per 9 by switching to the National League. He's also averaging slightly more than 6 innings per start, and his...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 8/30/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 8/30/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! We're back at it again with another monster Friday slate and we have some plays we absolutely love. The Rockies participate in Coors Field again and we're looking at an enormous 14-total in that contest. That means it's going to be tough to fade but it's going to be fascinating putting the correct pieces together for this difficult puzzle known as DFS baseball! Pitchers Trevor Bauer FD - P 9600 DK - SP 10400 Opponent - STL (Dakota Hudson) Park - STL FD - 32.65 DK - 17.51 Yeesh, Bauer has downright sucked since joining the Reds but he has too much potential to be priced this cheap. We're talking about an AL Cy Young candidate from last season who still has a 4.16 FIP and 28 percent K rate. Those are way off of his 2.21 ERA and 1.09 WHIP from last season but that shows just how special this dude can be. The reason we like him here is because he gets to face a weak offense in a pitcher's park. In fact, the Cardinals rank 21st in runs scored, 19th in OBP, 24th in SLG and 22nd in both OPS and wOBA. The scary thing about this spot is that they're sending out a bunch of righties like Goldy, DeJong, Ozuna and Molina against Bauer, which gives the Reds pitcher even more upside in terms of strikeouts. Madison Bumgarner FD - P 9200 DK - SP 10200 Opponent - SD (Dinelson Lamet) Park - SF FD - 35.2 DK - 18.56 This is probably the safest play on the board. Bumgarner has been his usual stellar self this season, pitching to a 3.71 ERA ad 1.10 WHIP. He's been even better at home, with Mad Bum generating a 2.95 ERA and 0.93 WHIP at Oracle Park this season. That's really no surprise when you consider that it's the best pitching park in the Majors. The match-up is simply the icing on the cake, with the Padres ranked 27th in K rate, 26th in runs scored and 28th in xwOBA. That's why we're looking at a total of 7 here, which is the lowest of the slate. Don't forget about Bumgarner's counterpart, Dinelson Lamet, who has a 29 percent K rate and also faces a bad offense. Our projection model also likes Aaron Nola hosting the Mets, as he's been much better since the All-Star break. Catcher/First Base Daniel Murphy FD -...
