Pitchers Carlos Carrasco FD - P 10100 DK - SP 9800 Opponent - SF (Anthony DeSclafani) Park - NYM FD - 33.48 DK - 17.62 To say the Mets are absolutely loaded at starting pitcher would be a massive understatement as today's starter, Carlos Carrasco, is the #4 starter in the rotation. After a rocky 2021, he is off to a terrific start in 2022 giving up just five hits and one earned run over his first two starts while striking out 13(33%) and walking just two. All this on a pitch count of 72 and 82 but the good news is seeing it climb each start so we likely see around 90 tonight in a plus matchup against the Giants who are mid-pack in wOBA(.303) but are striking out at a 25.5% rate. The price is rising but Carrasco is still my top pitcher on this slate. Paul Blackburn FD - P 7600 DK - SP 8600 Opponent - BAL (Tyler Wells) Park - OAK FD - 31.51 DK - 16.93 At first glance, it was very close at SP2 for me between Joe Ryan and Paul Blackburn but I am leaning the latter here for multiple reasons starting with the elite matchup. Both pitchers face bottom five offenses but Blackburn faces an Orioles team that leads the league in strikeouts(28%) and 10% more than the Royals. The other thing I like with Blackburn here is when he isn't striking guys out he is creating a ton of ground balls(59%). All things considered, he is my top PTS/$ play at pitcher today. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD - 1B 4100 DK - 1B 5900 Opponent - BOS (Tanner Houck) Park - BOS FD - 13.79 DK - 10.38 Zack Collins FD - C 2700 DK - C 2700 Opponent - BOS (Tanner Houck) Park - BOS FD - 7.34 DK - 5.44 The Jays lead all teams in implied runs and with the amount of value at both the pitcher position and with the bats, it is not all that hard to build around Vlad in all formats. If not for Ohtani who was doing modern-day Babe Ruth things, Vlad would have won the MVP last year and is off to a hot start in 2022 as he went into last night with a .317/.364/.707 slash line with five home runs and 10 RBI. One of the value plays...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 4/20/22

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 4/20/22 The opening two weeks of the MLB season have been fantastic. My season-long leagues are cruising, and I've also had some profitable days in DFS. The volatility in MLB DFS can be frustrating at times, but it's essential to battle it every day and just power through the tough times. We haven't really gotten to those yet, but we want to keep our heads down and keep chugging along. With that in mind, let's get started with this Wednesday card! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Brandon Woodruff FD - P 9700 DK - SP 9700 Opponent - PIT (Mitch Keller) Park - MIL FD - 42.17 DK - 23.05 We're going to have pitchers against the Pirates all season. This club had one of the worst lineups in baseball last year, sitting bottom-three in runs scored, OPS and xwOBA. That's scary since this lineup might be even worse, making Woodruff one of the easiest plays out there. Woodruff threw five scoreless innings in his most recent outing and provided a 2.56 ERA and 0.96 WHIP last season. He also went crazy against this putrid Pittsburgh lineup, averaging 41 FanDuel points per game in their previous three matchups. That has Woodruff entering this matchup as a -250 favorite, with the Buccos projected for fewer than 3.5 runs. Logan Gilbert FD - P 9500 DK - SP 9800 Opponent - TEX (Dane Dunning) Park - SEA FD - 33.9 DK - 18.29 Gilbert worked with Jacob deGrom in the offseason, and it looks like the best pitcher in baseball gave this kid some amazing tips. Gilbert has scored 33 FanDuel points in each of his first two games, pitching to a 0.90 ERA and 0.80 WHIP. We don't believe those absurd averages will maintain, but this kid has the stuff to be one of the best pitchers in baseball. He definitely showed that in the minors, generating a 2.12 ERA and 0.92 WHIP since 2019. Getting to face Texas might be the best part of this, though, with the Rangers ranked dead-last in OBP and OPS last season. The oddsmakers agree with this assessment, making Gilbert a -150 favorite, with Texas projected for a 3.5-run total. Merrill Kelly has been outstanding in the first two weeks and should continue that success against a weak Nationals lineup. Catcher/First Base Vladimir Guerrero Jr. FD - 1B 4100 DK - 1B 5800 Opponent - BOS (Nick Pivetta) Park - BOS...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 4/19/22 – Main Slate

Pitchers Corbin Burnes FD - P 10800 DK - RP 10500 Opponent - PIT (JT Brubaker) Park - MILFD - 45.35 DK - 25.42 Burnes is coming off a Cy Young season in 2021 thanks to just an insane 36% K rate while never really walking anyone. It was one of the great pitching seasons we’ve seen in a while. Things haven’t started quite at the same rate this year, though he’s still been solid in the first two outings. The Pirates have been better than expected at the plate this season, ranking in the top 3rd in terms of wOBA, but it’s hard to imagine that continuing over the course of the season. They just don’t have the bats up and down the lineup. I like this spot for Burnes who comes in as a -250 favorite, the best win odds on this slate. Robbie Ray FD - P 9900 DK - SP 9800 Opponent - TEX (Jon Gray) Park - SEAFD - 43.13 DK - 24.09 Ray has struggled in his first two games as a Toronto Blue Jay this season, walking a bunch of guys last games and not dialing the K’s up to where he was last season. He comes into this one as a -139 home favorite against the Rangers who have improved their offense this season and aren’t striking out a ton. But the 7.5 run line is lower here and Ray is simply coming too cheap for how he projects over the course of the season. This is a guy who’s struck out more than 11.5 batters per nine over the last couple of years and last season finally got the walks under control. I’m going back to the well here on the lefty. Catcher/First Base J.T. Realmuto FD 3900 DK 5300 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COLFD - 13.97 DK - 10.66 Rhys Hoskins FD 3800 DK 5500 Opponent - COL (Kyle Freeland) Park - COLFD - 14.22 DK - 10.55 The Phillies will play in Coors here on Tuesday with the chance to put up a bunch of runs in the mile-high air. Their 6.0 implied run line is the highest of the day, facing off against the lefty Kyle Freeland. The top of the order will feature some righties on the better side of their platoons and all are in good spots here. From a fantasy...

Pitchers Sean Manaea FD - P 9700 DK - SP 9100 Opponent - CIN (Nick Lodolo) Park - SD FD - 37.82 DK - 20.52 Manaea is one of many Athletics players shipped out before the 2022 season and the Padres couldn't be happier to have him aboard. He tossed seven innings of no-hit ball in his first start and while he picked up the loss in his second start, he struck out six and allowed just two earned runs on four hits. He now faces a Reds team that has lost six straight and eight of their last nine and ranks dead last in wOBA(.251) and wRC+(53) while striking out just over 26% of the time. With all the top pitchers in much tougher matchups, it is Manaea sitting at the top of my rankings in all formats tonight. Shane McClanahan FD 9200 DK 8100 Opponent - CHC (Kyle Hendricks) Park - CHC FD - 36.44 DK - 19.7 While he has yet to make it through five innings in his first two starts, there are a lot of positives for McClanahan starting with a 3.00 ERA and even better 2.52 xFIP. Better yet are the elite K stuff he is showing us as he has already racked up 15 strikeouts( 39.5%) and backed it up with an insane 18% swinging-strike rate. The Cubs' offense has been no pushover but to say they are overperforming is probably not too much of a stretch. The other plus of a shaky(ish) start is that the price has stayed in check making him one of our top PTS/$ plays on the mound tonight. Catcher/First Base Sean Murphy FD - C 2600 DK - C 4800 Opponent - BAL (Spenser Watkins) Park - OAK FD - 11.37 DK - 8.56 We almost never mention catchers in our articles but it has been impossible to ignore what Murphy is doing for the A's right now. He comes into tonight with hits in five straight including three multi-hit efforts, two home runs, and seven RBI. I have no issue paying the premium catcher price on DraftKings for multiple reasons starting with the balanced attack I am taking at pitcher, the value throughout the A's lineup, and the fact the A's get one of the best matchups on the board against Spenser Watkins. Murphy is my top catcher on DraftKings tonight and a nice lower-owned target for...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday, 4/17/22

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday, 4/17/22 The opening week was bizarre, but we're starting to get back into the groove. Grinding every day is essential when it comes to MLB DFS, and that's tough when we have small sample sizes to deal with. The good news is that these rotations and lineups are finally solidifying, making things much easier on us going forward. We feel like we have a good read on this Sunday card, so let's go ahead and get into it! Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Alek Manoah FD - P 10000 DK - SP 10000 Opponent - OAK (Adam Oller) Park - TOR FD - 39.83 DK - 21.71 Manoah had a fantastic rookie season, and it looks like he's on his way to becoming an ace. The big right-hander had a 3.22 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in his impressive rookie campaign and added a new pitch to his repertoire. He presented it in the opener, holding a potent Yankees lineup scoreless across six innings of action. To say this is a step down in competition would be a drastic understatement, with Oakland owning the worst lineup in baseball. That has the Alek and the Blue Jays entering this matchup as a -250 favorite, with the A's projected for just 3.5 runs. Zack Wheeler FD - P 10200 DK - SP 10200 Opponent - MIA (Elieser Hernandez) Park - MIA FD - 38.28 DK - 20.61 How weird is it to see two pitchers at the same price on both sites? That really doesn't matter, but it's a completely random occurrence. In any case, Wheeler is the most expensive player on the board, and rightfully so. The right-hander registered a 2.78 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 213.1 innings last season, striking out 247 batters! He showed glimpses of that in his shortened debut, surrendering just three baserunners across 4.2 one-run innings. He threw 65 pitches in that game, and it should have him ready for 80 here. That's really all he needs against Miami, with the Marlins ranked 29th in both runs scored and OPS while owning the worst xwOBA in baseball last season. In his previous three starts against them, Wheeler has allowed just five runs across 20 innings while flirting with a 1.00 WHIP. Nestor Cortes (FD $8400/DK $8200) has been fantastic filling in over the last two years, providing a 2.77 ERA and 1.06 WHIP since the start of last season. That's why he's a...
