DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 9/21/22
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday, 9/21/22 There are only two weeks left in the regular season! That sounds crazy because it felt like I was drafting my season-long drafts just a few months ago. Time flies when you're having fun, and that's always the case with baseball going on every day. This is another Wednesday card, though, and that means every team is in action. It also means the games are spread throughout the day, so we'll do our best to use teams in the two main slates. With that in mind, let's get started with the 2021 AL Cy Young. Now's your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Pitchers Robbie Ray FD - P 10000 DK - SP 9600 Opponent - OAK (James Kaprielian) Park - OAK FD - 45.5 DK - 25.19 It was a rough start to the year for Ray, but he's been all Seattle fans could hope for in the second half. Despite allowing five runs in his most recent outing, Ray has a 2.85 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 10.4 K/9 rate across his last 17 starts. He's actually scored at least 37 FanDuel points in all but four of those, and that should be easy to reach against Oakland. The A's rank bottom-three in runs scored, OBP, OPS, wOBA, and xwOBA. That's on full display when you see that Ray has registered a 2.41 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and 13.5 K/9 rate in their three matchups this year. We also don't mind that he's a -200 favorite, with the A's projected for just three runs. Dustin May FD - P 8200 DK - SP 8700 Opponent - ARI (Madison Bumgarner) Park - LAD FD - 38.07 DK - 20.21 It's just a matter of time before May becomes an ace in this league. The youngster has shown flashes of it, maintaining a 3.46 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in limited time this year. He also threw five no-hit innings in his most recent outing, and the pitch count is the only thing keeping him from being a $10K player. He's still thrown at least 82 pitches in three of his last four starts, and as long as he does that, May should be in line for a quality start. Arizona is a good matchup for just that, with the Diamondbacks ranked 22nd in OBP and 21st in OPS. The oddsmakers love May, too, making the Dodgers a -300 favorite, with the D'Backs projected for just 3.5 runs. Bailey Ober (FD $7100...
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 9/20/22
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 9/20/22 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Charlie Morton FD 9200 DK 9000 Opponent - WSH (Patrick Corbin) Park - WSHFD - 40.62 DK - 21.58 For the main slate, we have a couple of pitchers in very good spots taking the mound on Tuesday. The first is Morton who faces off against the lowly Washington Nationals as a whopping -348 home favorite. Those win odds are about as high as you’ll ever see even if we’ve had some example close to it of late. The 38-year-old Morton is having another solid, if unspectacular, season striking out more than 10 batters per nine though the ERA is over 4.00. Regardless, he’s not expensive and this is too good a matchup to pass up. Luis Castillo FD 9700 DK 9100 Opponent - OAK (JP Sears) Park - OAKFD - 39.87 DK - 21.15 And then there’s Castillo who is on the road in Oakland, but coming in as a -222 favorite against an A’s team that ranks second-to-last (and could finish last) in team wOBA this season while striking out 24% of the time as well. Castillo has been excellent this season with a 2.68 ERA and 3.17 xFIP while striking out batters at more than a 27% clip. His DraftKings price won’t kill you and it’s going to make sense pairing he and Morton together over there on the main slate. Catcher/First Base Adley Rutschman FD 3100 DK 5000 Opponent - DET (Joey Wentz) Park - DETFD - 12.55 DK - 9.54 Ryan Mountcastle FD 2900 DK 4200 Opponent - DET (Joey Wentz) Park - DETFD - 12.44 DK - 9.5 We are pretty much going to be focused on three teams for cash game plays on this slate. One of them is the Orioles who face off against lefty Joey Wentz on Tuesday and come in with a 5.1 implied run line. Rutschman should hit second when facing the southpaw and the Uber-prospect has had an excellent first season in the majors with an .820 OPS and 11 home runs through his first 400 plate appearances. He’s tough to strikeout at 17% and walks 14% of the time. Those peripherals are great and Wentz doesn’t have much in the way of K stuff. And then there’s Mountcastle who doesn’t have the on-base stuff that Rutschman has, but makes up for it some with more power (22 home runs). He’s been slightly better for his career against...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Monday 9/19/22 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Kyle Wright FD - P 10100 DK - SP 8800 Opponent - WSH (Cory Abbott) Park - ATL FD - 44.56 DK - 24.16 The Braves are all but locked into a wildcard spot but now have their sites set on the Mets for the AL East lead. Spencer Strider is going to be the NL Rookie of the Year but it's Kris Wright leading the entire league in wins(18) and backs it up with an impressive 3.18 ERA/3.36 xFIP. Despite having just average K stuff, Wright has been terrific for fantasy averaging 18.9 DK/35 FD points per game in the second half and gets a terrific matchup against a below-average Nationals team. Wright is easily my top pitcher in all formats tonight. Wade Miley FD - P 8000 DK - SP 6600 Opponent - MIA (Edward Cabrera) Park - MIA FD - 29.66 DK - 14.03 I am never going to get excited about playing 35-year-old Wade Miley but he checks almost all the boxes tonight, at least for cash games. At $6,600 on DraftKings, we are really only looking for about 12-14 points for cash games and he has accomplished this in both of his starts since returning to the mound in September thanks to 11 K's across those starts. More importantly, he gets a great matchup against a Marlins team that ranks dead last in wOBA(.271) and wRC+(75) in the second half while striking out over 24% of the time. The cheap price tag also allows us to pay up for Wright and multiple big bats which makes him my top SP2 on DraftKings and a value GPP arm on FanDuel. Catcher/First Base Adley Rutschman FD - C 3100 DK - C 5100 Opponent - DET (Tyler Alexander) Park - BAL FD - 11.37 DK - 8.65 Julio Rodriguez likely has the AL Rookie of the Year locked up but Rutschman is making it close and also helping the O's make the AL Wildcard interesting, as well. He has been playing his best baseball down the stretch with hits in four of his last five games including three multi-hit efforts with a .313/.400/.583 slash line over his last 14 games. He and the O's also get arguably the best matchup outside of Coors against Tyler Alexander who has posted a 6.34 ERA/5.04 xFIP in nine second-half starts. Fire upRutschman in all formats. David Villar FD - 3B...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Saturday 9/17/22 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Zac Gallen FD - P 10000 DK - SP 9900 Opponent - SD (Joe Musgrove) Park - ARI FD - 33.75 DK - 18.09 The streak of starts allowing zero earned runs ended at six last time out in Colorado but Gallen was still dominant striking out 11 adding to his very impressive season for a rebuilding D-Backs team. The matchup tonight may not look that great against the Padres but considering they have scored a league-low 38 runs over the last 14 days with the second-worst wOBA(.275) and wRC+(78) I am fully on board with Gallen in all formats. George Kirby FD 9300 DK 8000 Opponent - LAA (Shohei Ohtani) Park - LAA FD - 35.61 DK - 19.04 It is the year of the teammates when looking the rookie of the year awards in both leagues. In the NL, it's Strider and Harris for the Braves up top and in the AL it's Julio Rodriguez and not far behind is George Kirby. He has been good all year but has really come on in the second half holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in eight of nine starts and one or fewer in four straight. He will face off against another top pitcher in Shohei Ohtani but gets is cheaper and gets the better matchup against the Angels' offense that has been below average over the last month when looking at wOBA(.302) and wRC+(95) and has struck out over 25% of the time. At these prices, Kirby is easily our top PTS/$ play on the mound tonight. Catcher/First Base Freddie Freeman FD - 1B 4300 DK - 1B 5600 Opponent - SF (Undecided) Park - SF FD - 12.63 DK - 9.52 The Dodgers were the first team to clinch their division so there is always the risk of them limiting their starters down the stretch but if Freeman is starting, he is must-play right now. He has been tremendous in the second half(.344/.413/.523 slash line) and even better in the short term hitting .432 over his last 10 games while averaging 13.6 DK/18.1 FD points per game. He and the Dodgers get another smash spot against the Giants who will be throwing a bullpen game and seeing as Freeman was once a regular in the $6K range on DraftKings, I will be buying low in all formats as my top play at first. Yuli Gurriel...
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/16/22
DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/16/22 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB, NBA, PGA, NHL, and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Justin Verlander FD 11000 DK 11000 Opponent - OAK (Adrián Martínez) Park - OAKFD - 47.25 DK - 26.47 Verlander is a huge favorite against the Athletics today and for good reason. The guy had been having an excellent season with a 1.84 ERA while striking out more than a batter per inning. Sure, the ERA was run hot compared to the xFIP, but these are also the A’s we are talking about. The concern here is that this is his first game back starting in the last couple of weeks and the Astros might limit him here. That’s a tough pill to swallow seeing as how we are paying top dollar. But he might be worth the risk here as a -375 favorite against one of the worst offenses in baseball. Jack Flaherty FD 7800 DK 7000 Opponent - CIN (Undecided) Park - CINFD - 38.75 DK - 20.99 Flaherty is another tough case here but not for the same reasons as Verlander. He gets an excellent matchup at home against the Reds and is a -275 favorite. Plus, he’s coming so cheap on both FanDuel and DraftKings that you’ll have no problem fitting in bigger bats. The issue is Flaherty is cheaper because he’s really struggled in his five starts back this season. He’s walked more batters than he’s struck out which is brutal. Vegas still trusts him here and I want to put stock in that, but this isn’t a for sure lock in cash. Strongly consider Taijuan Walker (FD $9100 DK $8000) against the lowly Pirates. Catcher/First Base Paul Goldschmidt FD 4500 DK 6200 Opponent - CIN (Undecided) Park - CINFD - 15.87 DK - 12.03 The Cardinals have one of the highest implied run lines of the day even though the Reds’ pitcher hasn’t even been announced yet. It is sure to be someone bad so we are fine rolling these bats out in cash. Goldschmidt is having one of the best hitting seasons in the majors this year with a 1.015 OPS and 35 home runs. He’s been elite and there’s a reason he is so expensive. But in terms of safety for cash games, it doesn’t get much better. Triston Casas FD 2400 DK 2000 Opponent - KC (Jonathan Heasley) Park - KCFD - 10.43 DK - 7.86 Casas should be hitting around 7th for the Red Sox when they face off against...
