They start with the discussion around the top three pitchers on the slate: Jacob deGrom, Alex Wood, Lance McCullers. There are cases for and against each and it mostly centers on price. deGrom is very expensive but has been excellent this season. Wood’s been an ace but there are always some pitch count concerns with the Dodgers. And finally, McCullers is coming the cheapest of the three but is just two starts back from injury. They also take a look at Robbie Ray, Sonny Gray and Jacob Faria. They start with Stephen Strasburg against the Cubs. He’s the most expensive SP on the slate and is actually in a decent matchup against Chicago who have struggled this season. There are plenty of other pitchers to consider as well including Masahiro Tanaka, Rick Porcello, Trevor Bauer, David Paulino and Yu Darvish. They discuss the pros and cons of each.
