Pitchers Justin Verlander FD - P 12300 DK - SP 12400 Opponent - SEA (Yusei Kikuchi) Park - HOU FD - 51.85 DK - 29.92 The clear top pitcher on the slate, and one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. Verlander is an astounding -380 favorite going into this tilt with Seattle, and it makes sense. He's nearly replicated last year's absurd peripherals, putting together 11.98 K/9 while allowing just 1.63 BB/9. He's gotten punished harder by the homerun this season, but then again, basically everyone has. He's officially an ace's ace no matter how you slice it. The match-up is excellent as well. The Mariners are a below average offense against right handed pitchers while striking out at the fifth highest rate. It'll be hard to make an argument for fading Verlander in cash games today. Chris Bassitt FD - P 8200 DK - SP 9800 Opponent - DET (Jordan Zimmermann) Park - OAK FD - 32.12 DK - 16.91 If you're looking for a solid pitcher two on DraftKings today, I'll be looking at Bassitt. The A's righty has managed his transition to a full time starter's role admirably, and while his ERA has outpaced his xFIP by more than a run he brings enough upside to the table to be a reasonable play in the right match-up. And the Tigers? They are most certainly that. They rolled out one of the most atrocious lineups in recent memory against the Royals, featuring studs like Dawel Lugo and Grayson Greiner. The heart of the order was Ronny Rodriguez, Christin Stewart, and Jeimer Candelario. This team is downright awful, and Bassitt is a -280 favorite as a result. It's quite simply tough to have a bad game against a lineup like the ones the Tigers have been trotting out there recently. Also considered: Joey Lucchesi, since he's facing the Rockies at home. Catcher/First Base Yasmani Grandal FD - C 3100 DK - C 4500 Opponent - CHC (Yu Darvish) Park - MIL FD - 11.1 DK - 8.29 We'll start off with a familiar name at catcher for this season in Yasmani Grandal. If you find yourself in the unfortunate circumstance of having to roster a "hitter" at this position, he's as good an option as you'll find on any given night. The price is right, and he's actually pretty good with the stick. He's now on back to back seasons with...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/6/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/6/19 While many people will be focused on football this weekend, baseball is as strong as ever. What I love about this time of the year is that we get a bunch of fish joining the MLB contests. People make deposits for the NFL and play MLB in their off days just to try it out. That makes the field so much weaker, which is huge for players like us who play every day. With that in mind, let's get into the best pitcher on the board. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NFL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Clayton Kershaw FD 11700 DK 11900 Opponent - SF (Jeff Samardzija) Park - SFFD - 41.7 DK - 23.14 How can we possibly fade Kershaw on this slate? While many people were worried about CK at the beginning of the year, he's arguably been the most reliable pitcher in the Majors this season. That's evident by the fact that he's pitched at least six innings in all 24 of his starts. That's absurd and it's led to a 2.89 ERA and 1.01 WHIP. Facing the Giants at home is simply the icing on the cake, with San Fran ranked 26th in runs scored, 27th in OBP, 26th in OPS and 28th in wOBA. That's no surprise when you see that Kershaw has allowed just two runs across 14 innings against this team in two starts, thus making him a -250 favorite here. Miles Mikolas FD 6300 DK 8000 Opponent - PIT (Joe Musgrove) Park - PITFD - 28.07 DK - 14.46 Mikolas is by no means a safe play but he's a quality option in such a superb matchup. Let's begin with his opponent, as Mikolas gets a matchup against a Pittsburgh club who's been one of the worst offenses since the break. They currently rank 21st in runs scored and 22nd in OPS since the All-Star break. That's huge for a guy like Mikolas, with the right-hander pitching to a 3.49 ERA and 1.13 WHIP since joining the Cardinals last season. Vegas really likes Mikolas too, making him a -130 favorite in this matchup. Whoever starts for the Rays between Charlie Morton and Brendan McKay are definitely in play as a -350 favorite against a 28th-ranked Toronto offense. Catcher/First Base Howie Kendrick FD 2400 DK 5000 Opponent - ATL (Dallas Keuchel) Park - ATLFD - 8.98 DK - 6.98 The price discrepancy between these sites is truly amazing, as Kendrick is one of the best values on FanDuel. What's...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 9/4/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Wednesday 9/4/19 Wednesday’s MLB action gives us a mix of games throughout the day with some ace-level guys going in the evening main slate. This late in the season we are getting call-ups, teams who’ve essentially given up and those in the thick of playoff races. It can make things somewhat tough sledding, but we’ve got you covered. Let’s check out some plays for FanDuel and DraftKings. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL and MLB optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Shane Bieber FD - P 11000 DK - SP 11500 Opponent - CHW (Ivan Nova) Park - CLEFD - 39.55 DK - 21.82 We’ve had Bieber-fever all season long and it’s paid off. We’ll ride the wave again on Wednesday facing the White Sox at home. Cleveland is a -260 opening favorite, the second-highest of the evening slate. Bieber has some of the best peripherals you’ll see with a 6.2 K:BB ratio on the season and a 3.17 xFIP. It really doesn’t get much better than that and he’ll work against a White Sox team striking out a whopping 26% of the time versus right-handed pitching and ranked third to last in wOBA. This is a prime cash game spot for Bieber who has such a high floor because of the efficiency. Zac Gallen FD - P 8500 DK - SP 9600 Opponent - SD (Chris Paddack) Park - ARIFD - 36.71 DK - 19.09 Gallen definitely walks on the wild side at times as evidenced by the six walks in six innings game against Colorado three starts ago. And yet he was miraculously able to strikeout eight and allow only one earned run in that game. The last two starts have been steadier, striking out 14 batters in 10 innings while walking *only* three. He’s the second-best moneyline favorite (-280) on Wednesday at home against the Padres. The DraftKings price is a little steep if you are trying to pair him with Bieber though as we get later in the season there have been more and more ways to save on bats so I’m not completely worried about it. The Padres will K a lot (26% on the season) offering a chance for Gallen to dial up the punch outs. I think there’s some case for Jake Junis (FD $7900 DK $7500) here as well considering the price and the matchup. Catcher/First Base Ryan O'Hearn FD - 1B 2700 DK - 1B 3400 Opponent - DET (Edwin Jackson) Park - KCFD - 11.02 DK - 8.33 After...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Monday, Labor Day 9/2/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Monday, Labor Day 9/2/19 With the Labor Day holiday here, MLB shifts to an afternoon slate of games. There isn't much to speak of pitching-wise here, but we will make due with what we're given. What we do have are a bunch of good offenses poised to possibly put up a lot of runs against bad pitching. That's what the holidays are all about right? Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Kyle Hendricks FD - P 8100 DK - SP 8900 Opponent - SEA (Justus Sheffield) Park - CHCFD - 35.45 DK - 18.33 Hendricks is far from an ace, but that’s pretty much what we are looking at for this afternoon Labor Day slate of games. He doesn’t strikeout a ton of batters (7.6 per nine) but he gets away with it my limiting the walks and ends up with decent peripherals (4.75 K:BB). The xFIP is about a run higher than the 3.47 ERA so you can’t get too bullish there, but the matchup is choice. The Mariners rank 18th in wOBA against righties this season and that number is falling as they drift closer to the bottom. They strike out 25% of the time in the split which should buoy Hendricks’ K numbers. We will need an update on Wrigley wind today as the only caveat to Hendricks as a cash play. Adam Wainwright FD - P 7300 DK - SP 7600 Opponent - SF (Tyler Beede) Park - STLFD - 31.41 DK - 15.94 Wainwright has ticked his K numbers up a bit over the last two seasons and is hovering around a strikeout an inning. With it have come more walks though so he isn’t exactly getting a ton of bang for his buck in that department. That being said, he’s a perfectly (above) average pitcher at this point with a choice matchup in the Giants. San Fran ranks near the bottom of the league in wOBA against righties and have such little pop in the lineup that it’s tough to figure Waino getting torched here. He opens as a -175 home favorite with a 9 over/under. That, plus the matchup are good enough to put him in the conversation for cash pitchers on both sites considering the price. Catcher/First Base Joey Votto FD - 1B 3000 DK - 1B 4200 Opponent - PHI (Drew Smyly) Park - CINFD - 12.74 DK - 9.54 Votto’s struggles this season are well-documented with almost all of his stats...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 8/27/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 8/27/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! The Red Sox travel to Colorado to play the Rockies in Coors Field. This is a service announcement from your favorite fantasy site and it's simply impossible to fade this game. We have a total approaching 14 runs in that game and it's actually one of the highest totals I can ever remember seeing. Building around this game is going to be critical and it should make for a fascinating slate. Pitchers Andrew Heaney FD - P 8200 DK - SP 9800 Opponent - TEX (Mike Minor) Park - LAAFD - 29.79 DK - 15.64 Heaney has been wildly inconsistent throughout his career but a 14-strikeout gem in his last start shows just how dangerous he can be. That start happened to come against these Rangers and that's really no surprise when you see that they rank 29th in K rate and 24th in OBP against left-handers. That K-upside makes this FanDuel price truly mind-blowing, particularly after collecting 73 FD points against this team in his most recent start. Heaney has actually faced the Astros and Red Sox three times over his last five games, pitching to a 2.89 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 10.9 K/9 rate in that impressive five-game span. Patrick Corbin FD - P 10000 DK - SP 11200 Opponent - BAL (Aaron Brooks) Park - WSHFD - 42.71 DK - 23.58 Corbin is probably the best cash game pitcher available. The reason for that is because he gets such a premium matchup against the Orioles. In fact, Baltimore currently ranks 19th in K rate, 25th in runs scored, 26th in xwOBA and 25th in OPS. That's scary against a pitcher like this, with Corbin generating a 29 percent K rate en route to a 3.17 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. That's why he and the Nationals enter this game as a -330 favorite. playing some of the best baseball in the Majors right now. Catcher/First Base Matt Adams FD - 1B 2800 DK - 1B 4500 Opponent - BAL (Aaron Brooks) Park - WSHFD - 13.8 DK - 10.41 We have the Red Sox playing in Coors Field and you're going to start with a Washington bat? While the Colorado-Boston game might be the highest projected scoreline, the Nationals are actually one of the best stacks on the board. The reason for that is because they face Aaron Brooks, who's pitching to a 6.21 ERA and 1.44 WHIP. That's pretty much on...
