Pitchers Madison Bumgarner FD - P 9900 DK - SP 8900 Opponent - MIA (Robert Dugger) Park - SF FD - 39.33 DK - 21.38 It feels really good to start the Saturday main slate with a rock solid value play, and that's exactly what we're doing here. Bumgarner is an interesting pitcher to evaluate with advanced metrics, because he's outperformed his xFIP in each of his last 8 seasons. He's essentially better at limiting homeruns than he ought to be given his fly-ball rates, but we'll take it. In Bumgarner you're getting an extreme control pitcher who can strike out a guy per inning, which is more than enough on these prices. Throw in a great pitcher's park and a Marlins team that's ranked 2nd worst in the league in terms of wOBA against LHP and you have a cash game play made in Heaven. Zack Greinke FD - P 9700 DK - SP 9300 Opponent - KC (Mike Montgomery) Park - KC FD - 40.47 DK - 21.94 Another guy who perennially outperforms his peripherals, Greinke's ERA has been better than his xFIP in all but one of his seasons since 2012. His profile is similar to Bumgarner's, with fewer walks but fewer strikeouts as well. His match-up is arguably as good, with the Royals ranking 6th worst against RHP over the course of this season. He's also an astounding -340 favorite here, so the win luck should ever be in your favor. Greinke isn't going to light up the box score with upside at this stage in his career, but he should be a rock solid floor guy if you're looking for a pitcher two in cash games. Also considered: deGrom, even in a very tough match-up with the Dodgers. He just has much better upside than the above plays. Catcher/First Base Stephen Vogt FD - C 2800 DK - C 4000 Opponent - MIA (Robert Dugger) Park - SF FD - 9 DK - 6.89 If you must play a catcher today, Vogt is actually looking like a fine option. He's affordable, which you like to see, but he's also a legitimate threat for some real damage here. The 34 year old lefty is having a vintage year, ripping right handed pitching for an .863 OPS so far this year. Duggar is also an embarrassment to the game. He had a 6.05 xFIP in AAA, and built upon that resume...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/13/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Friday 9/13/19 We have about two weeks left in the regular season and it's time to build some bankroll for the NFL season. There are more amateurs than ever in these contests because of the start of football, so it's imperative to build a lineup and build some cash flow before the season ends. With that in mind, let's get to some of our plays. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Gerrit Cole FD 12000 DK 12200 Opponent - KC (Danny Duffy) Park - KCFD - 50.27 DK - 28.59 I mean, how can we fade Cole on this slate? This dude is probably the best pitcher in the Majors right now and we simply can't avoid him in such a stellar matchup. Let's start with that matchup, with the Royals ranked 28th in runs scored, 25th in OBP, 27th in OPS and 24th in wOBA. That's a disaster when you see Cole's statistics, with the right-hander pitching to a 2.73 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 2.51 xFIP and 39.4 percent K rate so far this season. That doesn't even take into consideration that he has at least 14 Ks in three straight starts. Not to mention, Cole and the Astros enter this matchup as a -400 favorite. Jon Lester FD 7100 DK 8300 Opponent - PIT (Steven Brault) Park - PITFD - 32.37 DK - 16.58 Lester is not the sort of guy I like to trust for fantasy purposes but we always like to exploit the Pirates against a lefty. The reason for that is because Pittsburgh ranks bottom-five in runs scored, OBP and OPS against left-handed pitching. That's evident by the fact that Lester has allowed just two runs in 14.2 innings against the Buccos, throwing a six-inning shutout about a month ago in his most recent start. He's been showing promising signs recently too, scoring at least 32 FanDuel points in 10 of his last 18 starts. Lester is typically risky but a matchup like this limits that volatility, especially when he and the Cubs are a projected as a -220 favorite. Catcher/First Base Eric Hosmer FD 3600 DK 4700 Opponent - COL (Jeff Hoffman) Park - COLFD - 13.81 DK - 10.58 Hosmer is not really the sort of guy I like to use for DFS but anyone is in play at Coors Field. That alone makes Hosmer intriguing but this matchup makes him a great play. Let's start with his opposition, with Jeff Hoffman pitching to a 7.06 ERA and...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 9/10/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Tuesday 9/10/19 Only a few more weeks of the season, but we have another one of those nonsense, crazy over/unders in Coors to deal with on Wednesday. But there's also an expensive ace hitting the mound as well. Let's roll through a big day in MLB action. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL and MLB optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! If you hate the Rockies or Cardinals, you're mot going to like this article. We have a game being played in Coors Field and these are the two clubs who benefit from that little league field. It should cause some fireworks and we'll do our best to offer up some value plays to mix in with all of these Coors Field bats. Pitchers Walker Buehler FD 11600 DK 12300 Opponent - BAL (Ty Blach) Park - BALFD - 41.04 DK - 23.09 It's going to be tough to fade Buehler. seeing as how he's been one of the best pitchers in the NL and gets a superb matchup against the Orioles. Let's start with that matchup, as Baltimore currently ranks 24th in runs scored, 26th in OBP and 25th in OPS. That's really scary against a guy like Buehler, with the right-hander pitching to a 3.28 ERA and 1.04 WHIP this season while striking out 190 batters across 159.1 innings. That's why he and the Dodgers enter this matchup as a -315 favorite. Zack Wheeler FD 8300 DK 10000 Opponent - ARI (Zac Gallen) Park - ARIFD - 34.18 DK - 17.91 While it's tough to use Wheeler on DK as a five-figure player, I absolutely love his $8,000 price tag on FanDuel. That's way too cheap for a guy with a 3.68 FIP and 23 percent K rate. That's really all you can ask for in a place like Citi Field, with that ballpark ranking as one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in the league. We're really not scared of Arizona either, as they rank 20th in both OBP and OPS against right-handed pitching. Vegas likes Wheeler too, making him a -135 favorite in this fixture with the D'Backs projected for fewer than four runs. It's hard to overlook Chase Anderson (FD $6300 DK $6000) at a dirt-cheap price against a putrid Miami lineup in a spacious stadium like Marlins Park. Catcher/First Base Daniel Murphy FD 3500 DK 4700 Opponent - STL (Michael Wacha) Park - STLFD - 13.14 DK - 10.09 This is the first of numerous Rockies and it's going to be tough to fade these...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Monday 9/9/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Monday 9/9/19 Everyone coming off their football high/hangover? Well Sunday is over but Monday baseball is coming at you with a shorter slate for FanDuel and DraftKings. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL and MLB optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Pitchers Jacob deGrom FD - P 10600 DK - SP 11200 Opponent - ARI (Merrill Kelly) Park - NYMFD - 42.92 DK - 24.37 DeGrom is having another Cy Young-type season with a 3.27 xFIP (2.76 ERA), 31% K rate and 5.2 K:BB ratio. Those re, of course, elite numbers and he’s the biggest money line favorite on this smaller Monday slate of baseball. He’s a -210 home favorite against the Diamondbacks who rank in the bottom third in the league against righties this season. Arizona’s 3.01 implied runs are easily the lowest of the slate and it’s worth it to pay up for deGrom here compared to the other options. I suspect he’s something like the chalk considering the other guys taking the bump. Madison Bumgarner FD - P 9000 DK - SP 9200 Opponent - PIT (Trevor Williams) Park - SFFD - 36.21 DK - 19.67 The Pirates have moved their way to the bottom of the league against lefties this season. They have a paltry .285 wOBA in that split and though they don’t K much, very much struggle hitting southpaws up and down the lineup. Bumgarner is putting up his best K numbers since 2016, striking out 8.87 batters per nine and limiting the walks to 1.83. That’s good for a 4.8 K:BB rate. The efficiency has allowed him to go more than six innings per game this season and he makes for a strong cash play. It might be tough pairing deGrom and Bum on DraftKings because of the salary, but you have to love the floor on both. Strongly consider Jordan Lyles (FD $8400 DK $8200) against the Marlins. Catcher/First Base Carlos Santana FD - 1B 3800 DK - 1B 4400 Opponent - LAA (Patrick Sandoval) Park - LAAFD - 11.81 DK - 8.8 Carlos Santana is putting the best season of his career with 32 home runs, a .936 OPS and is walking more than he strikes out. A big part of that is what he’s been doing against lefties. He has a .985 OPS, .411 wOBA and 156 wRC+ in that split this season. The should work against Patrick Sandoval. Sandoval has solid peripherals, striking out 10.5 batters per nine, but does walk batters 10% of the time. Santana’s profile works...

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday 9/8/19

DraftKings and FanDuel MLB Picks for Sunday 9/8/19 Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our MLB and NBA optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! This is one of the biggest weekends for me personally because many of my H2H playoff matchups are being decided today. That means we have to get things right today and we truly feel like we have some great picks for you on this slate. With that in mind, let's start with one of the best pitchers in baseball... Pitchers Gerrit Cole FD - P 12000 DK - SP 12200 Opponent - SEA (Felix Hernandez) Park - HOU FD - 52.34 DK - 29.84 It's going to be very tough to fade Cole. The simple fact is, we have one of the best pitchers in baseball facing one of the worst lineups. Let's start with Cole, as his 2.81 ERA and 0.95 WHIP is no match for his absurd 39 percent K rate. That happens to be the best K rate of any starter in the league and he's truly one of the best bets for double-digit Ks in a matchup like this. The opposition makes us like him even more, with Seattle ranked 28th in K rate and 25th in xwOBA. That's why he and the Astros enter this matchup as a -500 favorite, one of the largest spreads of the season. Adrian Houser FD - P 7100 DK - SP 5500 Opponent - CHC (Jon Lester) Park - MIL FD - 29.48 DK - 15.5 This is simply a price play. Facing the Cubs is obviously tough but Houser is way too good of a pitcher to be $7,100 on FanDuel and $5,500 on DraftKings. Our numbers tell us that he should be $1,000 more on each site and it's hard to understand why these algorithms are keeping him so cheap. We're talking about a pitcher with a 3.45 ERA and 1.29 WHIP and he's been even better recently. Over his last seven appearances, Houser is pitching to a 2.29 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 9.2 K/9 rate. That's really all you can ask for against a team who sits 20th in K rate and might be without Javier Baez. Catcher/First Base Ji-Man Choi FD - 1B 2900 DK - 1B 4000 Opponent - TOR (Jacob Waguespack) Park - TB FD - 10.15 DK - 7.64 Why do these DFS sites continue to disrespect Choi? This dude has been mashing righties throughout his career and it truly doesn't make sense why he's priced so cheaply. Let's take a look at those splits, with...
