Quarterbacks Jalen Hurts FD 8600 DK 8000 Opponent LARProj Points FD - 24.84 DK - 24.84 The Eagles and Rams have the second-highest total of the main slate at 50.5 and there is a good chance of debate between whether to play Jalen Hurts or Patrick Mahomes in this tier. I’m going with Hurts because he’s a bit cheaper and his work on the ground gives him a slightly higher floor than Mahomes. That being said, it’s very close here. Hurts is still getting out and running about 10 times per game and has elite weapons. The Rams are above average in opponents' yards per pass attempt and overall pace, but I’m still on Hurts here regardless. Zach Wilson FD 6700 DK 4900 Opponent DENProj Points FD - 17.18 DK - 17.18 Ok, stick with me here for a second. Before getting too caught up with the name, let’s look at some of the context. For starters, Zach Wilson is coming sub-$5K on DraftKings which gives a lot of flex in the rest of the lineup. Secondly, he’s facing off against a Broncos team allowing 8.9 yards per pass attempt on the season, worst in the league. Third, he started to look downright competent against the Chiefs last week, completing 71% of his passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns. Plus there’s just a little bit of running here. This is more an opponent play than anything else, but it warrants discussion. Strongly consider Matthew Stafford Running Back De'Von Achane FD 7500 DK 6100 Opponent NYGProj Points FD - 18.55 DK - 19.81 De'Von Achane has had a ridiculous last couple of weeks, racking up 304 yards on the ground in just 26 total carries while also picking up another 49 through the air on nine targets. He’s been ultra-efficient and explosive and that is set to continue this week against the Giants. The Dolphins are -11 home favorites against a Giants team allowing 4.4 yards per carry to opponents and looking like they might be dead men walking. Achane is likely to be a chalk play on both sites and he’s coming off playing 60% of the running back snaps last week. The reason? To start, they head into week four ranked 3rd in passing offence and dead last in passing defence which is a recipe for high-scoring games and upside fantasy totals. Next, looking at this game specifically, both teams have a very high target share distribution to their top targets with Keenan Allen at 35% and now with no Mike Williams and Davante Adams for the Raiders at a whopping 41% on the season. Austin Ekeler is practicing in a limited fashion this week but likely won't be pushed at 100% even if he is back in the lineup so I am confident we will see another 35-40+ pass attempts from Justin Herbert this week against a Raiders defence that ranks dead last in fantasy points to both quarterbacks and wide receivers.  The price on Allen is way up on FanDuel but not nearly enough on DraftKings considering Williams being out and the terrific matchup. While running this stack back with Adams is my favourite option, I also like Jakobi Meyers. Quarterbacks Joe Burrow FD 7200 DK 6500 Opponent TENProj Points FD - 19.32 DK - 19.32 Man, it’s tough with Joe Burrow right now. On the one hand, he’s been able to gut out games, the Bengals beat the Rams on Monday and the price on both sites is getting so, so low. On the other hand, the efficiency has been brutal (55% completion rate) and it still really isn’t clicking. But he gets a straight-up funnel defense in the Titans who’ve allowed the 4th-least rushing yards and 5th-most passing yards. If there was a spot to really turn it around for Burrow so far, this is the one. The prices and the pedigree are just too good to overlook here. Russell Wilson FD 7500 DK 5800 Opponent CHIProj Points FD - 19.91 DK - 19.91 Ooh baby, let’s go there. Russell Wilson and the Broncos have been something of a mess this season and are coming off getting shelled by Miami 70-20. So, that’s not great. But now they are playing the Bears who have allowed the most points in the NFL through 3 weeks (106) and just completely suck. If there was a spot for Wilson to turn in a big game, this is the one. He’s too cheap on DraftKings and that savings is going to be really important this week. Running Back Christian McCaffrey FD 9700 DK 9200 Opponent ARIProj Points FD - 24.28 DK - 26.88 Tony Pollard FD 8400 DK 7800 Opponent NEProj Points FD - 20.78 DK - 22.96 It’s close for me here on the top options between Tony Pollard and Christian McCaffrey. They are one and two in the NFL in usage to start the season at 76 and 73 touches respectively. It’s a steep drop-off after them. I don’t actually think you can really go wrong here all things considered. Both are in solid matchups as favorites and you know are going to get the rock. A tiebreaker could be that Pollard is cheaper on both sites and allows for more flexibility with roster builds. His matchup against the Patriots is slower but that’a baked in a bit here. Game Stack - Los Angeles Chargers @ Minnesota Vikings Kirk Cousins FD 7800 DK 6900 Opponent LAC Proj Points FD - 22.29 DK - 22.29 Justin Jefferson FD 9700 DK 9300 Opponent LAC Proj Points FD - 22.58 DK - 27.42 Keenan Allen FD 8800 DK 7600 Opponent MIN Proj Points FD - 15.89 DK - 19.99 Pretty chalky starting with the highest total of the week but with so many different ways to stack each side, it is a perfect game for multi-entry GPP. It is a great recipe for points given both teams come in 0-2 and are hungry to get a win with both having Top 10 offences and below-average defences. I will be starting with one of the most expensive directions but given the shootout potential, I think it provides us with a high floor and ceiling and could be a lower-owned combo given that high price tag. Cousins is a quarterback fans love to hate but it's hard to deny the fantasy value. He comes into week three having thrown 44 passes in both games while tallying 344 and 364 yards with six touchdowns and just one pick. The volume alone has him as my top PTS/$ quarterback this week and slightly over Herbert due to the cheaper price tag. Justin Jefferson and T.J. Hockensen have received the lion's share of that volume with 48% target share between them, 29% going to JJ who has put up 150+ yards in both games while also leading the league with 206 air yards. I will be running it back with Keenan Allen who has also been terrific sitting 9th in receiving yards and air yards through two weeks. If you are looking for a cheaper stack in this game consider Jordan Addison or T.J. Hockenson for the Vikings and Mike Williams for the Chargers. He finished 29/41 for 305 yards and two touchdowns against the Jaguars and should be set to air it out against the Bears here as well. The game could get out of hand, for sure, but the Bears are already second-to-last in the league in yards per pass attempt through two weeks. The defense is rough and the secondary should get picked apart here. There are some pricey QBs to consider this week in cash, but Mahomes sits at the top of the list. Lamar Jackson FD 8200 DK 7700 Opponent INDProj Points FD - 23.67 DK - 23.67 In this price range I probably just want to spend all the way up for Mahomes, but there’s a case to be made for Lamar Jackson coming just a bit cheaper. He’s completing passes at a 75% clip through two weeks and is also coming off a 12-rush game as well. The Colts are allowing a bunch of yards per pass attempt to opponents through the first two weeks and Jackson has more receiving weapons than before with Zay Flowers already looking like the guy and Mark Andrews returning last week. Kirk Cousins FD 7800 DK 6900 Opponent LACProj Points FD - 22.29 DK - 22.29 I really only like to roster running quarterbacks in cash, but on DraftKings there’s a case to make an exception with Cousins this week. At just $6600 in a game with a 54 total, there’s a path for him to paying off rather easily. The Vikings have had to throw a bunch through the first two games and that could be the case again. Cousins is averaging 350 yards and 3 TDs in that stretch and could be in line for a similar output this time around.
