FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Sunday 1/5/20
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Sunday 1/5/20 We've got two little mini-slates today, and instead of giving you positional picks I think it will be more effective to touch on the early slate briefly and then go game by game and break out what you should keep an eye out for in the main slate. Let's get to it. Head on over a for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our NFL Optimizer and NHL Projections as well. Early slate action The early slate has a few extremely important dominoes to keep an eye on before you even begin to start making your lineups. Let's start with the most important. The Clippers could be missing everyone, or no one. At this point there's no determination as far as whether Paul George and Patrick Beverley will play through their respective injuries, and while there is no word on Kawhi's status, it would be surprising to see him out there on the second half of a back to back. All of this news affects not just the Clippers plays, but the Knicks as well. If the Clippers best are going the Knicks are unplayable, but if they sit there is a whole host of great plays from both sides. Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, Moe Harkless, and even Landry Shamet could be cash game plays. On the Knicks side, we have more question marks. Elfrid Payton could miss this game on account of the birth of his daughter, and if he sits Frank Ntilikina would be a phenomenal cash game play. Typically solid plays like Marcus Morris and Julius Randle would be great plays if the Clips are short staffed but risky if the Clips ran the full squad. The second game featuring Portland and Miami features a lot of solid plays, but you won't know which you want until the Clips/Knicks situations get sorted. I would be happy to run Lillard, McCollum, Anthony, and Whiteside from the Blazers and Jimmy Butler from Miami. I could consider Kendrick Nunn if I absolutely needed the money for other positions. The Late Slate The late slate features some shenanigans of its own, but some good old fashion value as well. Let's go game by game. The Minnesota Timberwolves at the Cleveland Cavaliers This is the game that contains the aforementioned shenanigans. The...
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Saturday, 1/4/20
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Saturday, 1/4/20 This is a bizarre slate, so, we're going to take a different approach to this article. We're going to go all value plays here and leave it to you to fill in the rest. All of you know that Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo are good plays and we feel as though you can get both of those guys in there with a combination of these players. With that in mind, let's get into these fantastic values!Head on over a for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our NFL Optimizer and NHL Projections as well. Point Guard Lonzo Ball FD - $5700 DK - $6500Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 32.98 DK - 34.07 While this DraftKings price is a little lofty for our hopes, this FanDuel price is an absolute steal. The thing that's really changed for Ball is his role and it's done wonders for his fantasy value. Ball is playing over 35 minutes a game across his last four outings while averaging 33 fantasy points per game over his last six fixtures. That's all you can hope for from someone in this price range and we have to love that against a Sacramento squad who allows the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing PGs this season. Aaron Holiday FD - $5000 DK - $5600Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 33.35 DK - 34.48 With Malcolm Brogdon out for the next two games, Holiday should continue to start at point guard for the Pacers. Since taking over that role seven games ago, Holiday is averaging 28 FanDuel points per game across 30 minutes of action. That makes these price tags truly shocking, as he should be above $6,000 on both sites with that sort of production in his back pocket. If you're concerned about his last game, don't be. He basically lost minutes to foul trouble in the first and third quarters and wasn't able to make up for the lost time. What we really love is this matchup though, with Atlanta sitting 28th in defensive efficiency and 29th in points allowed. Not to mention, they allow the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season. Luka Doncic should flirt with yet another triple-double against a bad Hornets team and is always a top choice. Shooting Guard Marcus...

Point Guard Lonzo Ball FD - $5300 DK - $6000Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 34.78 DK - 35.93The slate starts off with a bank, with Lonzo Ball heading into LA for his revenge game! In all seriousness, we're catching Ball at exactly the right time for DFS purposes. He's coming off a barn-burning performance against the Rockets, where he shot 7-12 from 3 and netted 57 fantasy points in 40 regulation minutes. He doesn't need anywhere near that level of playing time to be a $5,300 player, and this is just a phenomenal opportunity for cash games and big tournaments alike, even in a tough match-up as a big dog against his former team. Kemba Walker FD - $7900 DK - $8300Opponent - ATLProj Pts FD - 43.59 DK - 45.29We'll discuss Walker for a couple of reasons here. First, if he winds up feeling better and getting a clean bill of health for this game, he is in a terrific spot against the returning Trae Young. Atlanta's electric point guard is a terrible defender on his best days, and on the heels of an ankle injury we can get even more excited. There's still a chance that Walker sits, however, and that would open up a ton of opportunity for the rest of the Celtics, with Marcus Smart leading the charge there. The details of Kemba's illness aren't quite known yet, but once we get more clarity I would be fine either playing him or playing his replacements. Also considered: Some excellent expensive plays, like Damian Lillard against the Wizards, Westbrook against Philly, and Ben Simmons against Houston. Listen to Doug Norrie's Brooklyn Nets Podcast Shooting Guard James Harden FD - $11100 DK - $10900Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 57.81 DK - 60.56It's one of the worst possible DFS match-ups with Philly ranking in the top 10 in defensive efficiency and the bottom 10 in terms of pace, but Harden's price is also cheaper heading into this one than it would be normally. The biggest threat to a singular talent like Harden is not usually the opposing defense, but the potential that his team blows the other one...
DFS NBA Podcast – FanDuel and DraftKings Plays for Thursday 1/2/20
DFS NBA Podcast - FanDuel and DraftKings Plays for Thursday 1/2/20 The guys are breaking down an atypically big Thursday slate of action on their DFS NBA Podcast for FanDuel and DraftKings. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA, NFL and NHL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! We have an oddly large 9 game slate of NBA games tonight, and the DFSR team is here to break down every single game on the slate. Tonight is an odd one, because it blends a sea of great cheap options (mostly from the Minnesota-Golden State game) with very few big money plays to go with them. As a result, Luka Doncic is a heavy favorite to be nearly unanimously owned. After the obvious plays from Minnesota and Golden State, though, things do get a bit more difficult. How much can we trust the minutes from the Clippers/Pistons game, where the Clippers are favored by 12? Andre Drummond has played 36+ minutes in back to back games where the Pistons got blown out, but is that really sustainable? Going the other way, Paul George, Lou Williams, and Kawhi Leonard are great plays if they can get their full rotation of minutes, but how likely is that? All in all, it promises to be a weird one. Make sure to join Doug and James to hear their...

Point Guard Luka Doncic FD - $10800 DK - $12000 Opponent - BKN Proj Pts FD - 58.31 DK - 62.69 I've been on the wrong side of Luka chalk before, my friends, and let me tell you: it's not a place you want to be. The most exciting 20 year old ever continued his sophmore tour de force against the Thunder, compiling a 35/10/7 line over the course of 40 minutes. Last week he dropped 70 fantasy points against the Warriors in 30 minutes. Tonight he'll go up against the Nets, who have allowed the 4th most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season. We're not even worried about blowout risk here, as if the Mavs manage to blow other teams out it's almost always because of Luka himself. The $10,800 salary is just a joke, and Luka is very likely the big money payoff you're looking for here. Shabazz Napier FD - $5000 DK - $5900 Opponent - GS Proj Pts FD - 34.05 DK - 34.37 With Teague currently listed as doubtful, we could be looking at another night of incredible chalk for Shabazz Napier. He was a 90%+ start in cash games last night, and had paid these prices by halftime. If Teague returns for some reason you likely won't want to play him, but given that this match-up is like 10x better than the Bucks spot last night he could be nearly unanimously owned in this one. Also considered: Kyle Lowry, who is looking rock solid on a $7,800 price tag on FanDuel. Shooting Guard Buddy Hield FD - $6200 DK - $6700 Opponent - MEM Proj Pts FD - 33.54 DK - 35.66 On a larger slate I'd like to be getting away with something, but the outrageous floor on Hield seems like it's worth talking about. His rotation and usage are among the most secure in the entire game, as evidenced by his last game against the Clippers, where the Kings lost by 18 but Hield still played 36 minutes and got 17 shots in the air. He paid value against one of the toughest defenses in the league, and now he'll get...
