FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Wednesday 4/7/21
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Wednesday, 4/7/21 Tuesday's slate was not my best showing, but it was an unusual slate. There have been so many wacky things going on in the NBA recently that it's hard to know what to expect. That has me totally checked in for this Wednesday slate, though, and I love these recommendations. With that said, there are many teams in the second half of a back-to-back set, and that's something that needs to be monitored. Those teams include Atlanta, Boston, never, Indiana, Memphis, and New Orleans. Point Guard Terry Rozier FD - $7400 DK - $8400 Opponent - OKC Proj Pts FD - 42.02 DK - 43.5 The Hornets have been one of the biggest surprises this season, but the final month could be rough for them. We say that because Gordon Hayward, LaMelo Ball, and Malik Monk are all expected to miss significant time. That's a ton of usage, scoring, and ball-handling out of the lineup, leaving Rozier to feast. Scary Terry has a usage rate of 30 percent with those guys off the floor while averaging over 1.2 DK points per minute. We love that for a guy who's in the midst of a breakout season, averaging nearly 35 DraftKings points per game. This matchup is fantastic, too, with Oklahoma City owning a 27th OPRK against opposing point guards this season. Lonzo Ball FD - $7800 DK - $7700 Opponent - BKN Proj Pts FD - 39.24 DK - 40.88 The injury bug has really struck this New Orleans team badly, with Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker all nicked up. That's three of the main ball-handlers on this team, leaving Ball as one of the only guys left. While he was hurt himself last week, he's been brilliant in his two games since returning. In fact, Ball's got at least 52 DK points in both of those, despite struggling with his shot. His stat-stuffing ability has allowed him to thrive without his shot falling, and a near triple-double on Tuesday is a good indicator of how much he's doing right now. He was actually playing well before all these injuries, too, averaging 37 fantasy points per game across his last...

Point Guard Jordan McLaughlin FD - $4600 DK - $4400 Opponent - SAC Proj Pts FD - 29.71 DK - 29.03 With D'Angelo Russell and Ricky Rubio considered doubtful for tonight's game, the Wolves should turn the point guard duties back over to Jordan McLaughlin. The Timberwolves' third-string point guard put in 42 minutes of duty in their Saturday loss to Philly, and supplied 39.7 FanDuel points in the process. It's a far better match-up here with the Kings, and McLaughlin is just a price and opportunity mismatch at these price points. Discussing the rest: After McLaughlin, you'll need some context to plan for tonight. Mike Conley is labeled as questionable, and if he winds up sitting Jordan Clarkson becomes a clear value option. All signs point to his sitting on Saturday being due to being on a back-to-back, but if he does sit, you should be ready. If you find a lot of value options thanks to the number of questionable players tonight, Luka is playable even in a tough match-up with the Jazz. Luka becomes a better option if Josh Richardson Kristaps Porzingis wind up missing this one. If none of that value comes to fruition, De'Aaron Fox could see big ownership against the Timberwovles, and Derrick White is playable as well. Shooting Guard Anthony Edwards FD - $7400 DK - $7600 Opponent - SAC Proj Pts FD - 38.22 DK - 39.85 Edwards is playing otherworldly minutes with the Wolves' entire frontcourt looking doubtful, and like McLaughlin, he will see huge cash game ownership. He's very scoring dependent, but if he's in line for 40 minutes in a close game, it shouldn't matter in a great match-up with the Kings. Tyrese Haliburton FD - $5800 DK - $6500 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 32.45 DK - 32.96 Halliburton has averaged almost exactly 5x points per dollar in his last four contests and should do even better against a Minnesota team that plays the sixth-fastest PACE with the fourth-worst defensive efficiency. The Timberwolves are so shallow in the back-court that a hustler like Halliburton is in a great position to use his hustle to chip in extra...

Point Guard Ben Simmons FD - $7500 DK - $8900Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 42.05 DK - 41.96 I suspect we see Joel Embiid sit the second half of the back-to-back here on Sunday which would open the door for Simmons to be a pretty strong cash game option against the Grizzlies. The time without Embiid on the court hasn’t been overwhelmingly positive, fantasy-wise, for Simmons who struggled with consistency across the box score. But he is always a threat to put it together and has a decent matchup against Memphis. The price is down thanks to the recent performance which could make it seem like he’s a risky play, but I think the floor is high enough, in general, to warrant a cash game look if Embiid is out. Eric Bledsoe FD - $5800 DK - $6300Opponent - HOUProj Pts FD - 32.21 DK - 33.22 Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Zion Williamson have missed the last two games and are questionable for this one as well. Plus, it looks like Kira Lewis is going to miss the game coming off the bench. This has left the Pels very thin at the guard. Now, if all three of the aforementioned guys come back, then we aren’t firing Bledsoe here. But if New Orleans is running with a skeleton crew then he becomes almost a must-play. The fantasy output has been just okay for Bledsoe even with all the absences over the last two games, averaging 14 points, six assists, and four rebounds. It hasn’t blown you away, but there’s a chance he sees around 40 minutes in this game and that would make it worth the risk at these prices. Strongly consider Stephen Curry (FD 9000 DK 9800) who will be back for this game. Shooting Guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker FD - $6500 DK - $7000Opponent - HOUProj Pts FD - 45.78 DK - 45.86 Like I said with Bledsoe, there’s a chance the Pelicans are playing incredibly shorthanded in this game and Alexander-Walker is ringing in as a very strong cash game play almost no matter who comes back for the team. He’s been taking a lot of shots with some...

Point Guard Ben Simmons FD - $7800 DK - $8700Opponent - MINProj Pts FD - 42.93 DK - 42.75 The 76ers get a great matchup against a very weak Minnesota team that just got run off the court by the Grizzlies on Friday night. Simmons hasn’t been called on to play a ton of minutes the last few games with the Sixers taking part in three-straight blowouts. But a close game should have him pushing run in the mid-30s and he does have triple-double upside in this matchup. It’s been up and down for Simmons in the short-term without Embiid but this just represents too good a spot. He’s coming much too cheap on FanDuel at sub-$8K. Jordan Clarkson FD - $5300 DK - $6100Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 32.17 DK - 34.18 It looks like Mike Conley is going to sit the second half of the back-to-back for the Jazz meaning we, once again, should see a lot of Jordan Clarkson. The last two times Conley sat out games, Clarkson averaged 26 points and seven rebounds. He’s going to still come off the bench in the sixth man role, but the usage and minutes have been there in the past for the guy when Conley has been out of the mix. The price is still low on enough on FanDuel though I will say it is getting steep on DraftKings. If Bradley Beal is out then Russell Westbrook (FD 11000 DK 11100) would be a must-play once again. There’s also a good chance that, with a lot of other value, we just run Luka Doncic (FD 10400 DK 10600) on Saturday. Shooting Guard Donovan Mitchell FD - $8800 DK - $8800Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 50.46 DK - 53.31 Like I said with Clarkson, Mike Conley is doubtful is for this game meaning Mitchell becomes close to a must-play because of the likely usage uptick he’ll see taking over more of the point guard duties. The last two games Conley sat out, Mitchell was amazing with an average of 39 points and seven rebounds. He jacked up 17 and 30 shots with the former being only that low because he played 28...
DraftKings and FanDuel NBA Picks for Friday, 4/2/21
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Friday, 4/2/21 This is one of the craziest sports weekends I've ever seen. We have opening weekend in MLB, big games in the NBA, Final Four matchups in men's and women's NCAA, and various obscure sports that can cater to anyone! That includes UFC, PGA, ATP, WTP, and my personal favorite, AFL. This is all about NBA, though, and I'm undoubtedly the most zoned into basketball with all my season-long fantasy leagues winding down to an end. There's a lot to inhale when it comes to this Friday slate, so let's go ahead and break it down! Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Ja Morant FD - $6800 DK - $7600 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 39.11 DK - 40.11 Morant has been a bit too inconsistent for someone of his ability, but this price is silly. Especially on FanDuel, with Morant performing like a $9,000 player at times this season. That was certainly the case in his most recent outing, collecting 36 points, seven assists, and three steals in one of his best performances of the season. Games like those show just how special he can be, and it makes it hard to understand why he remains so cheap behind a 37-point average. What makes it even more bizarre is this majestic matchup, with the T'Wolves surrendering the fifth-most fantasy point to opposing PGs this season. Malcolm Brogdon FD - $6600 DK - $7000 Opponent - CHA Proj Pts FD - 38.19 DK - 39.52 Brogdon has seen his numbers dip a little bit over the last month or so but not enough for his price to dip this much. We're still talking about a guy who's averaging 39 DraftKings points per game for the season, scoring at least 35 fantasy points in eight of his last 10 games in total. It's crazy that he's been doing that sort of damage consistently and has seen his price drop so much. The matchup makes that price reduction even crazier, with the Hornets owning a 23rd OPRK against opposing point guards this season. That's been on full display in the first two meetings, with Malcolm in the Middle averaging 43 DK points per game. If Donovan Mitchell...
