Coke Zero 400 Daytona International Speedway - Daytona Beach, FL Track - 2.5 Mile Tri-Oval Superspeedway(Restrictor Plate Track) Banking - 31° This week the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series travels back to Daytona International Speedway for the Coke Zero 400. This week's race will take place on Saturday night underneath the lights as it always does on the Independence Day weekend(although this year it falls on a Tuesday). I love it as the race falls on Canada Day, which also happens to be my birthday and the start of my holidays. Note to self: enter lineups the night before. The Coke Zero 400 is the third of four restrictor plate races of the season which once again changes up the strategy. The correlation of starting position to finishing position is about as low as we will see throughout the year. Looking at the cheatsheet, I documented the last six summer races here at Daytona and no one year had a correlation higher than .375 and 2015 even showed a negative correlation. This combined with the fact there are only 160 laps and stage racing, brings the importance of dominator points down while giving a huge boost to place differential in my model. Before jumping into the aerly week pickslet's take a look at some of the trends from Daytona. Last Six Winners(Summer 400-Mile Race) 2016 - Brad Keselowski (Started 5th, led 115 laps) 2015 - Dale Earnhardt Jr. (Started 1st, led 96 laps) 2014 - Aric Almirola (Started 15th, led 14 laps) 2013 - Jimmie Johnson(Started 8th, led 94 laps) 2012 - Tony Stewart (Started 42nd, led 22 laps) 2011 - David Ragan (Started 5th, led 15 laps) Top 5 Current Track History at Daytona Since the start of the 2015 season, Joey Logano has a win at Daytona and comes in with three straight Top 6 finishes for a 7.8 average finish. Denny Hamlin 2016 Daytona 500 and has three Top...

Toyota Save Mart 350 Infineon Raceway - Sonoma, CA Track - 2.52 Mile Road Course This week the Monster Energy Cup Series heads to Sonoma, California for the first of two road-course races on the schedule. They are both very unique setups and for a closer look at Infineon Raceway check out Parker Kligerman on the iRacing Simulator go over a lap here. .@PKligerman takes to the iRacing Simulator to give you a lap around @RaceSonoma https://t.co/bV6ActeHqc — NASCAR on NBC (@NASCARonNBC) June 23, 2017 With just 110 laps in the race, it will really limit the dominator potential of a driver especially considering the new strategies in place with stage racing in 2017. More important this week will be finishing position and place differential. It is very tough to come from too far back and finish Top as we have only seen seven drivers who started outside of 20th finish Top 10 in the last six races but Top 15's are definitely in play for those drivers. Every point will matter this week. Let's dig in and take a look at some of the race trends and drivers who have succeeded here and on road courses in general. I will then go over a few of my top picks for the week and then post a YouTube video later on Saturday going over my top picks with all practice and qualifying info entered into the sheet. Last Six Winners 2016 - Tony Stewart (Started 10th, led 22 laps) 2015 - Kyle Busch (Started 11th, led 17 laps) 2014 - Carl Edwards (Started 4th, led 26 laps) 2013 - Martin Truex Jr. (Started 14th, led 51 laps) 2012 - Clint Bowyer (Started 6th, led 71 laps) 2011 - Kurt Busch (Started 11th, led 76 laps) Top 5 Track History at Sonoma (2 Year) Tony Stewart won the race here last year which ended up being his final win of his career. Looking at the active drivers over the last two years, Kyle Busch has the other win(2015) but there are six drivers who...
Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview and Picks – FireKeepers Casino 400

We've got you completely covered. FireKeepers Casino 400 Michigan International Speedway - Brooklyn, MI Track - 2 Mile D Shaped Oval Intermediate 18° of Banking in the Corner Another race, another first-time winner. It was a huge weekend in Pocono last Sunday as Ryan Blaney picked up his first career victory in the Cup series and 99th for Wood Brothers Racing and their first since the Daytona 500 in 2011. Blaney didn't just cruise to victory either as he had to make a tough pass on Kyle Busch who was blocking hard and then he had to hold off Kevin Harvick(the closer) for five laps. I would say he has more than earned his stripes! That now marks the 10th different driver to make it victory lane this season in just 14 races That is now 10 different drivers to record a win in 14 races and the most shocking thing is that there are some big names that have yet to reach Victory Lane in 2017. Names like Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Matt Kenseth, Chase Elliott, and Jamie McMurray to name a few. With Joey Logano's encumbered win at Richmond, he actually sits in the last spot above the cutline just a few points ahead of Kenseth with some other big names behind him. No need for any of these teams to panic yet as we now have 12 races remaining in the regular season before the Playoffs begin but expect the drivers without that win to push a little harder at the end of each stage to gain as many points as possible. We are in for some good racing. This week the Monster Energy Cup series travels to Michigan International Speedway for the FireKeepers 400. Michigan is two-mile D-Shaped Oval much like Auto Club Speedway but much faster as there is right around four degrees more banking here at MIS. Looking at the cheatsheet and the last six races here, we quickly see that qualifying and starting up front is the key. Three times in the last six races the winner came from the pole position and only Kyle Larson last...

Pocono 400 Pocono Raceway - Long Pond, PA Track - 2.5 Mile Tri-Oval Superspeedway 6°-14° of Banking in the Corner Welcome back for another week of daily fantasy NASCAR. Let's recap last week before moving on to Pocono. Last week's win was the 83rd of Jimmie Johnson's Hall of Fame career, tying him with Cale Yarborough for sixth on the all-time list. That puts him just one win behind Darrell Waltrip and Bobby Allison and just 10 back of Jeff Gordon for third. Last week's win was the 83rd of Jimmie Johnson's Hall of Fame career, tying him with Cale Yarborough for sixth on the all-time list. That puts him just one win behind Darrell Waltrip and Bobby Allison and just 10 back of Jeff Gordon for third. Enjoy it up there in third while you can Jeff, Jimmie is coming. This week the Monster Energy Cup series travels to Pocono Raceway, better known as the "Tricky Triangle" for its unique setup. As you probably already guessed by the nickname Pocono is made up of three corners and the unique part is that each corner is different from one another. The biggest challenge for the crew chief is working on a setup for the car that balances out and works well in all corners. It is definitely a week to pay close attention to all practices. For fantasy purposes, it is going to be to balancing act between place differential and dominator points. First of all, there are only 160 laps available to lead and with the new stages and pit strategies, we are most likely going to see multiple drivers lead 20+ laps. Place differential isn't going to be as easy as it appears either. Looking at the cheatsheet and the last three years results, we see that no more than two drivers have finished inside the top 10 who started outside of the top 20. Also, all but once in those six races, at least five drivers who started inside the top 10 finished there. This puts even more emphasis on practice and qualifying so stay tuned for my post practice/qualifying video...
Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview and Picks – AAA 400 Drive for Autism

We've got you completely covered. AAA 400 Drive for Autism Dover International Speedway - Dover, DE Track - 1 Mile Oval Short Track 24° of Banking in the Corner We can't start this week's preview without talking about the Coca-Cola 600 last week. Not only did Austin Dillon break through and pick up his first career Cup win, he wheeled the iconic #3 Richard Childress car back to Victory Lane for the first time in nearly 17 years. It was a huge breakthrough win for Dillon and an extremely emotional night for Richard Childress who retired the number following Earnhardt's death in 2000. On top of all that, we got our 9th winner in just 12 races this season and STILL have not seen Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhart Jr, or Jamie McMurray in Victory Lane. There are others, as well, who have shown winning upside and could grab a checkered flag before the regular season is over. This week the Monster Energy Cup series heads North to Dover International Speedway for the AAA 400 Drive for Autism. The track is a one-mile short track that gets two stops during the season. The biggest thing that stood out to me when running the last three year's(six races) results was the correlation between starting and finishing position was nearly double in each year's Fall race. What does that mean? Not a whole lot really as the NASCAR has a new lower downforce package this year plus the stage racing and points system. What I do know is that we will want to once again target two or three drivers for a dominator spot as each of the last six races has seen one or two drivers lead more than 100 laps. Place differential is always an important variable when constructing as lineups as well but we can't determine those values until we see practice and qualifying. Good news! After final practice concludes and finalize the cheatsheet I will be making another YouTube video and posting it at the bottom of the article. Stay tuned. Let's dig in and take...
