I love New York 355 at the Glen Watkins Glen International - Watkins Glen, NY Track - 2.428 Mile Road Course Laps - 90 This week the Monster Energy Cup Series will travel to Watkins Glen, New York for the second road course race of the season. Watkins Glen is much more different than Sonoma and I am not just talking location(Infineon-California, Watkins Glen-New York). Infineon Raceway is very technical with 12 turns while Watkins Glen has just seven turns and is much faster as drivers can reach speeds of 18-190 mph on the back stretch. The NASCAR America team breaks it quite well in this video. Through 21 races, it has been a memorable year with 14 different race winners which includes Joey Logano's encumbered finish that won't count towards his playoff push. Speaking of the playoffs, there are just five races remaining for those non-winners to either grab a victory or point-race their way in and that includes Joey Logano who is currently sitting 18th and 69 points out of a playoff spot. Here is a look at the bubble going into this weeks race at the Glen: 14th - Chase Elliot(616 Points) 15th - Jamie McMurray(615 Points) 16th - Matt Kenseth(594 Points) PLAYOFF CUTLINE 17th - Clint Bowyer(577 Points) 18th - Joey Logano(525 Points) 19th - Daniel Suarez(464 Points) 20th - Erik Jones(444 Points) For fantasy, place differential is going to be the number one target this week. Over the last six races, at least 20 drivers in each have gained positive place differential with at least seven drivers with double-digit place differential. With just 90 laps it limits the dominator points available but is note worthy that over the past six races at the Glen at least two drivers have led 20+ laps in every race. Let's now take a look at some trends and early picks. Last Six Winners 2016 - Denny Hamlin (started 6th) 2015 - Joey Logano (started 16th) 2014 - A.J. Allmendinger (started 6th) 2013 - Kyle Busch (started 5th) 2012 -...

Overton's 400 Pocono Raceway - Long Pond, PA Track - 2.5 Mile Tri-Oval Banking - 6° to 14° Laps - 160 This week the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series returns to Pocono Raceway for the second time in less than two months. Ryan Blaney picked up his first career Cup win in June after getting around race dominator Kyle Busch and holding off "The Closer" Kevin Harvick. In my June write-up for the Pocono 400, I mentioned it was likely we would see multiple drivers leading 20+ laps and I was sort of right. Erik Jones led exactly 20 laps while his Toyota teammate Kyle Busch led 100 laps, the only time in the last six races someone has done that. I also mentioned it comes down to what team makes the right adjustments throughout the race to have a balanced car that can handle all three corners here at the Tricky Triangle. The correlation to starting position was also very high last race as seven of the Top 10 started the day there and just one driver who started outside the Top 20 finished inside the Top 10. This week will also be the first time in the Cup series where Qualifying and the race will be held on the same day. There are two practice rounds starting Saturday morning at 9:00 am ET with Qualifying coming at 11:30 am Et on Sunday morning followed by the race at 3:00 pm ET. As a fan, I think this is a great idea but as a writer/content provider, it is going to be a nightmare rushing around after qualifying to update the spreadsheet and either make a final picks article or video with the top picks. We all know how important qualifying is to determine the top plays. Before all of that happens we can take a look at some of the top trends here at Pocono going into the weekend. Last Six Winners 2017 - Ryan Blaney (Started 4th) 2016 - Chris Buescher (Started 22nd) 2016 - Kurt Busch (Started 9th) 2015 - Matt Kenseth (Started 7th) 2015...

Brickyard 400 Indianapolis Motor Speedway - Speedway, IN Track - 2.5 Mile Oval Banking - 9° Laps - 160 This week the Monster Energy Cup Series head to Speedway Indiana for the Brickyard 400. Yes, I know it's the Brantley Gilbert Big Machine Brickyard 400 now but you will never hear that out of my mouth. These sponsorship plugs in NASCAR are getting out of hand. Did you hear the guy doing the command the other week going on and on for like five minutes about his company? Four simple words. Drivers. Start. Your. Engines. Now that I got that out of my system we can get into the race this week. NASCAR makes its annual trip to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for one of the most prestigious races in the series where the winner will get to kiss the Bricks that lay across the start/finish line. The track is a 2.5 mile oval that can present a challenge for drivers with its high speeds in the straightaways and very flat banking in the corners. This will be the 24th running of the Brickyard 400 and of the 23 previous races, the winner has gone on to win the NASCAR championship nine times. From a daily fantasy perspective, track position is going to be key once again as the last five winners all started inside the Top 10 and twice from the pole position. There has also been only five drivers of a possible 40 over the last four years that started outside the Top 20 and finished inside the Top 10. We are also likely to see just one dominator this week as there have been five straight races where one driver led 70 or more laps and only twice in the last six races have two drivers led more than 40 laps each. With that in mind, let's jump in and take a look at some of the trends from the cheatsheet and then look...

Overton's 301 New Hampshire Motor Speedway - Loudon, NH Track - 1.058 Mile Oval Intermediate Banking - 12° This week the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series travels to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Overton's 301. This is the first of two races here at NHMS this season and will be the last year with double-duty as Las Vegas will take over the Playoff stop starting in 2018. The track is a 1.058 Mile oval that is flat with just 12° of banking and is best compared to Phoenix in size and car setups. From a fantasy perspective, there are 301 laps so once again dominator points will be at the top of the checklist when constructing our lineups. Looking at the last six races here dating back to 2014, there have been eight drivers who have led 100+ laps including two in each of last year's races here at NHMS. Track position here is absolutely key as passing is very difficult. It has shown as all 12 drivers who have led over 60 laps in the last six races have all started inside the Top 10. Stay tuned for qualifying as it will be very important to determining our top plays and values. I will have the cheatsheet updated following each session and will update my final picks video at the bottom of the article. Let's dive in and take a look at some of the top trends and my top pre-qualifying/practice targets going into the race weekend. Last Six Winners 2016 Fall - Kevin Harvick (Started 19th, led 8 laps) 2016 Summer - Matt Kenseth (Started 18th, led 38 laps) 2015 Fall - Matt Kenseth (Started 13th, led 27 laps) 2015 Summer -Kyle Busch (Started 4th, led 96 laps) 2014 Fall - Joey Logano (Started 7th, led 73 laps) 2014 Summer - Brad...

If you are looking for a review of last week's picks and performance of the cheatsheet, be sure to check out Chris's recap article. Quaker State 400 Kentucky Speedway - Sparta, KY Track - 1.5 Mile D-Shaped Oval Intermediate Banking - 14° This week the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series travels to Kentucky Speedway for the Quaker State 400 on Saturday night. This marks the seventh year that the highest series in NASCAR will race on the intermediate track and as you will see shortly, it has been dominated by a just a few drivers. That could change a bit this season with races now run in stages which has proven to change up the strategies on most tracks. From a fantasy perspective, we are back to trying to nail down one or two dominator drivers as each of the six races here have seen one driver lead 100+ laps and half of those races seen that driver win the race. The correlation between starting and finishing position is also back up after seeing a negative correlation at Daytona. That doesn't mean place differential should be discounted, however, as multiple drivers starting 20th or back have finished inside the Top 10 in three of the last four races and with stage racing we should see it once again this year. Let's now dig in and take a look at some of the top trends and soem of my early week/pre-qualifying picks. Last Six Winners 2016 - Brad Keselowski (Started 2nd, led 75 laps) 2015 - Kyle Busch (Started 9th, led 163 laps) 2014 - Brad Keselowski (Started 1st, led 199 laps) 2013 - Matt Kenseth (Started 19th, led 38 laps) 2012 - Brad Keselowski (Started 8th, led 68 laps) 2011 - Kyle Busch (Started 1st, led 125 laps) Weekend Schedule Practice 1 - Friday, July 7 @10:00 a.m. ET Practice 2 - Friday, July 7 @1:00 p.m. ET Qualifying - Friday, July 7 @7:30 p.m. ET Race - Saturday July 8 @ 7:30 p.m. ET Top 5 Current and Career Track History at Kentucky...
