Kevin Harvick picked up the checkered flag as he beat out Carl Edwards in another photo finish. That is now two of the eight closest finishes in NASCAR history in the first four races this season. Have a look for yourself. I mean what more could we ask for? The racing product NASCAR is putting out there is fantastic for everyone involved. The new rules package has made it easier for drivers to get to the rear of another car and make a pass keeping the field closer together. Goodyear should also get a pat on the back with the new tires they have rolled out for teams. It has brought a ton of strategy back to the crew chiefs as the tires are falling off a lot faster during green flag runs. A great example of this was three weeks ago at Atlanta. Jimmie Johnson and the #48 team pitted early on a green flag run with about 40 laps to go in an attempt to gain advantage over the field, barring their be no caution flag. The race stayed green and the #48 had built a huge lead(10+ seconds) and held on for the win. If this keeps up we are in for one hell of a season. This weekend should be no different when it comes to exciting racing as the NASCAR haulers made the short trip west to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California for the Auto Club 400. The track is a 2 mile Intermediate/Superspeedway with 14° banking in the corners and can be best compared to Michigan. What makes racing so great here is the width of the track....

What a finish at the Daytona 500. Closest in history. If you missed it check out the recap below. The Joe Gibbs Racing team dominated the race at Daytona as Hamlin led 95 laps, Kenseth led 40 laps and Busch led 19 laps. They captured 1st, 3rd, and 5th and 14th(Kenseth was in 1st on final lap until Hamlin made his move). The favorite and most owned driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. spun and ended up finishing back in 36th. Overall it was another terrific start to the NASCAR season and giving the series momentum as we head in to next week. The NASCAR haulers will now make their way North to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 this Sunday. The track is a 1.54 Mile Quad_Oval intermediate track. These intermediate tracks make up close to half the tracks in the 36 race season so we have plenty of data to help us pick out favorites. There is, however a wrinkle in the research this time around. NASCAR has fully implemented a new rules package for the 2016 season. Check out the terrific overview from NASCAR.com. This rules package was tested twice last year at Kentucky and Darlington and it was an overwhelming success. The reduction in the rear spoiler really helped reduce rear down force and produce more passing throughout the races. Although it was a small sample size we did notice a trend in those two races. Joe Gibbs Racing was, by far, the most dominant of the teams. The Kentucky races seen Kyle Busch dominate leading 163 laps en route to the win. His teammates Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, and Denny Hamlin all...
Daily Fantasy NASCAR Picks for DraftKings & FantasyFeud – 5 Hour Energy 301
Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks 5 Hour Energy 301 DFSR is proud to bring you our newest contributor Chris Durell. He'll be bringing weekly Nascar picks, analysis and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings. If you are new to DraftKings Nascar DFS be sure to click on the banner below. Want to see how these picks and more fit into lineups for the 5 Hour Energy 301? Chris is selling 2 DraftKings and 2 Fantasy Feud lineups plus a cheatsheet for $5. Just scroll to the bottom of the picks. This is a separate service than our traditional monthly membership. 5 Hour Energy 301 New Hampshire Motor Speedway - Loudon, NH Track Type/Length - 1.058 Mile Intermediate Oval /strong> Kyle Busch picked up his 2nd win in three weeks last weekend at Kentucky Speedway. It was also his 2nd win at Kentucky in its five year Cup Series existence and ties Brad Keselowski for most in NASCAR. Joey Logano had the lead after a late restart but with the new aero package on the cars for the race, Kyle was able to catch Logano and eventually pass for the lead that he wouldn't give up. The new aero package, which was a Kentucky specific package, was a successful change by NASCAR. It created more down-force on the cars which led to multiple passing opportunities and had the feel of old school racing. NASCAR will implement other changes moving forward like a new tire package from Goodyear when the cars hit Darlington in September. If Kentucky was any sign of things to come, 1.5 mile racing will continue to get better for both the teams and its fans. Now onto New Hampshire. This week the Sprint Cup Series head to Loudon, New Hampshire for the 5 Hour Energy 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This is another track much like Sonoma where becoming a repeat winner is very tough. Since 2008, only Joey Logano has won at Loudon twice. Even though it is tough to win here multiple times there is still a short list of drivers who consistently run well at New Hampshire. It is very hard to pass here which puts a premium on qualifying and track position during the race. This will make analyzing the practice and qualifying data very important this week. I update my cheatsheet after Final Practice, so be sure to get your updated copy on Saturday sometime. This week I will be adding Fantasy Feud salaries to my cheatsheet and article. They have a very well done product that supports NASCAR. They offer a salary cap game in which you roster six drivers within a $1,000,000 Salary Cap and receive points for finishing...
Daily Fantasy NASCAR Picks – Quaker State 400
Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks Quaker State 400 DFSR is proud to bring you our newest contributor Chris Durell. He'll be bringing weekly Nascar picks, analysis and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings. If you are new to DraftKings Nascar DFS be sure to click on the banner below. Want to see how these picks and more fit into lineups for the Quaker State 400? Chris is selling a DraftKings and a Fantasy Feud lineup plus a cheatsheet for $5. Just scroll to the bottom of the picks. This is a separate service than our traditional monthly membership. Quaker State 400 Kentucky Speedway - Sparta, KY Track Length - 1.5 Mile D-Shaped Tri Oval Speedway This week NASCAR heads to Kentucky for the Quaker State 400. It is only the 5th Sprint Cup Series race to be held at Kentucky and we are already seeing a new rules package to prevent more down-force, thus creating more passing opportunities. The reason for the change? In the past four races here it has been very difficult to pass. Kyle Busch won the inaugural race and dominated by leading 125 laps then the next year he led 118 laps but lost the race late to Brad Keselowski. Matt Kenseth won the race here in 2013 after Jimmie Johnson dominated by leading 182 laps. Then last year Keselowski dominated for the win after leading 199 laps. NASCAR is trying to create more passing during the race to make it more exciting for the fans. Kentucky Speedway is one of the most rough and bumpy tracks on the circuit. Some drivers love the track while others definitely do not. When looking at the past four years results it is pretty easy to point out the drivers who like it vs. those who don't. In the past four races at Kentucky there is four drivers(Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Jeff gordon) who have finished inside the top 10 each time, and only 8 other drivers who have finished inside the top 10 twice. The new rules package might prohibit drivers from completely dominating and leading the majority of laps but I still feel the drivers who have had success here in the past will find a way again to get to the front and stay there. This week I will be including Fantasy Feud salaries to my article and cheatsheet. Fantasy Feud is offering two different types of daily fantasy games. First off they have a salary cap game much like DraftKings except you are working with a $1,000,000 salary cap. Who doesn't wanna play with more money? The second game they offer is a pro pick'em game. They give us four groups of...
