Sale has been quite impressive in two starts with Boston, giving up 8 hits and fanning 18 in 14.2 innings. The Rays as a team had the third worst K% in the majors last season, and are holding true so far in 2017 with a 27.9% through their first ten games. This bodes well for Sale who sported a 10.43 k/9 last season with the other Sox. The Rays are projected at 3.3 runs which may be generous. Boston has been slow to give Sale much in the way of run support so far this season, but if they can scrape together a few runs today, Sale should see his first W with Boston, and is a sure bet to strike out at least 8 hitters making him about as sure a play in cash games as you'll find anywhere on the slate. He'll eat a hefty little chunk of your salary, but there are plenty of nice spots to save up on bats today to make that happen. Corey Kluber FD 10000 DK 10200 Opponent - DET (Verlander) Park - @CLE FD - 38.14 DK - 25.1 Another guy still looking for his first win of the 2017 season is Corey Kluber. Kluber had a shaky start to the season against the Rangers when he gave up 5 earned runs on 6 hits in 6 innings, but a blister on his finger was pointed to as a probable cause for that. His next time out against the Diamondbacks, he looked better posting a quality start holding Arizona to 3 runs (2 earned) with most of his trouble all coming in the fourth inning when he gave up three straight singles, leading to two runs, then was pulled in the sixth after yielding a solo shot. Kluber will have his work cut out for him, as on the other side of this contest is Tigers ace Justin Verlander, so he will have to keep the Detroit offense in...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher Clayton Kershaw FD 12600 DK 13500 Opponent - ARI (Greinke) Park - @LAD FD - 46.29 DK - 30.55 Kershaw almost has to be here every time he pitches. He's the best pitcher in baseball and has an advantage over any lineup in the league. The Diamondbacks are good against lefties, so Kershaw will definitely see some challenging at-bats. Paul Goldschmidt is a top 3 hitter against lefties and sports a +.420 wOBA against southpaws in most years. Kershaw blows away those numbers, however. In 2016, he held righties to a ridiculous .227 wOBA. Against lefties, it's pure domination with a .137 wOBA and an 11.51 K/9. While the D-Backs can hit righties well, they do strikeout a lot. In 2016, they held the 7th highest K rate at 22.8%. Vegas has the D-Backs slated at a projected team total of 2.25, which is by far the lowest on the slate. Kershaw is definitely going to cost you a pretty penny on both sites and rightfully so. This is a guy who gave up over 2 runs just twice last season and struck out 10 batters 9 times last season. Kershaw is going to be very highly-owned and I will be part of the group in cash games. In tournaments, there are definitely some other ways to go that help you pay up in other spots. Let's take a look at a few cheaper options. Julio Teheran FD 8500 DK 8500 Opponent - SD (Chacin) Park - @ATL FD - 36.78 DK - 24.16 Julio Teheran gets the nightly honor of facing off with the Padres. The Padres sport the league's worst lineup and it's not too close. Wil Myers has been on a roll and he's really the only guy to be scared of. Janikowski and Margot are both fast but aren't great hitters and struggle to get on base. The rest of the order is filled with strikeout-prone hitters and guys with no pop. Teheran is much worse against lefties, so Ryan Schimpf could be the only guy I have some worries about. Still, this ballpark is big and Teheran has pitched well at home over the years. In 2016, Teheran sported a .243 wOBA against righties and a .323...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher Madison Bumgarner FD 11300 DK 12500 Opponent - COL (Gray) Park - @SF FD - 41.71 DK - 27.52 The Rockies will travel to San Fran and take on the Giants in what should be a fantastic pitching matchup. Bumgarner is the top option on the night, coming in at $11,3k on FD and $12.5k on DK. Bumgarner has pitched twice so far, going 7+ innings and scoring 37+ fantasy points. Bumgarner is extremely dominant against both sides of the plate, with ridiculous numbers against lefties. In 2016, Bumgarner held lefties to a .223 wOBA, which was a league-best. He's also one of the biggest strikeout guys in baseball, averaging 9.71 K/9 over the last 2 seasons. The Rockies are a really good team for Bumgarner to face. They are filled with strikeout-prone lefties and only a couple righties to worry about. Plus, this game is taking place in AT&T Park. Expect the Rockies hitters to have an absolute nightmare tonight. They ranked in both bottom 5 in the league against lefties on the road in 2016, sitting at a .297 wOBA. The Rockies aren't good at all outside of Coors Field and AT&T Park is the exact opposite. Bumgarner is an easy cash game play and has plenty of upside in tournaments. Jonathan Gray FD 7800 DK 10000 Opponent - SF (Bumgarner) Park - @SF FD - 32.35 DK - 21.27 Right on the other side of the diamond, we will take a look at Jon Gray. Gray, who is much cheaper than Bumgarner, is a bit riskier and a lot more volatile of a player. Gray is a lot better than a lot of people think and Coors Field has a lot to do with that. While he actually pitched well there, he obviously struggled with the HR ball and had a few bad starts. Overall, Gray was a great pitcher in 2016. He finished with a .300 wOBA against righties and a .313 against lefties, which is incredible for a guy pitching half of his games in Coors Field. The Giants are usually not a team I love to target but this year is a bit different. They have added a few more strikeout guys and haven't been hitting all...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher Early Max Scherzer FD 10900 DK 12600 Opponent - STL (Leake) Park - @WSH FD - 43.17 DK - 28.46 Outside of rare circumstance, you can expect Scherzer to be here every time he pitches. He's a top 3 DFS pitcher and will often be a cash game king. Today, he faces the Cardinals on the 4-game early slate. This Cardinals lineup is extremely underwhelming and it's hard not to love Scherzer when you look at it. They lead off with a solid 4 in Fowler, Diaz, Carpenter (DTD), and Piscotty. While none of those guys are 25+ HR locks, they do hit well for contact and don't often get shut down. However, once you move past the core 4, it gets ugly against righties. Yadier Molina, Randal Grichuk, Jhonny Peralta, Kolten Wong and the pitcher spot will follow. Everyone outside of Kolten Wong held a 23%+ K rate against righties in 2016 and Wong joined in with a putrid .302 wOBA. If Scherzer is effectively able to contain the top 4, he will be in for a tremendous outing. I would say 8 strikeouts is close to a guarantee with the upside for 12-14. Scherzer went 6 2/3 last time out and I wouldn't be surprised to see him hit 100 pitches here. He is an elite option in both cash games and tournaments. Danny Salazar FD 9400 DK 8700 Opponent - CHW (Holland) Park - @CLE FD - 37.86 DK - 24.76 The Sox and Indians will face off at 6:10 PM, so this game isn't on either of the main slates on FanDuel or DraftKings. If you're playing the all-day slate, play him. He and Scherzer are far above the rest and will be hard to get off of in cash games. Salazar is a high-strikeout, high-upside pitcher. He does have the downside but I'm not sure how much I'm worried about it with the other options at pitcher. Even if Salazar has an off night, he has 5-6 K's built in and you can't say that about anybody on the 7 PM slate. Once again, play Carrasco and Scherzer if you can. Main Sorry? It looks like we have finally run into a slate with 0 pitching. Sure,...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitchers Jeff Samardzija FD 8600 DK 8900 Opponent - ARI (Ray) Park - @SF FD - 33.45 DK - 22.03 You almost have to pay up at pitcher on this slate. We touched on Carrasco, Matt Harvey, and Jameson Taillon in the main picks article. If you're insistent on paying down, Tyler Skaggs, Joe Musgrove, and Robbie Ray are the only guys I would even consider (in GPP's). Still, they hold a ton of risk. Jeff "Shark" Samardzija has a fantastic match-up in an even better ballpark. The Diamondbacks aren't good against righties, ranking bottom 10 in 2016 with a .311 team wOBA. If you remove the games in hitter-friendly Chase Field, that wOBA dips to .297 against right-handers. PNC Park is a top 3 pitcher's ballpark and Samardzija has pitched well there in his career. Shark was above league-average against both sides of the plate in 2016, though much better against righties. With 5-6 big D-Backs bats being right-handed, Samardzija should be able to slice through this lineup. David Peralta and Jake Lamb are the 2 guys to worry about most and if Samardzija gets past them, I think he has a top 2 finish of the night. I like Shark is all formats and he should go pretty under-owned. Tyler Skaggs FD 7100 DK 7800 Opponent - TEX (Hamels) Park - @LAAFD - 28.42 DK - 18.83 One of the first things I do when looking at a slate is to take a look at the Vegas lines. Last night, I was astonished to see the Angels favored over the Rangers. Cole Hamels is on the other side and with an 8 over/under, you can't ignore Skaggs Skaggs was a huge prospect that was supposed to break onto the scene in 2014. He hurt his arm and had to get Tommy John surgery. He returned last year as a guy with a high K rate to match his monstrous BB rate. He only had 10 starts last season, so the sample size isn't nearly enough to completely judge anything. In those 10 starts, 19 of his 23 earned...
