Pitchers Kenta Maeda FD 8000 DK 9000 Opponent - ARI (Ray) Park - @ARIFD - 27.83 DK - 18.58 Kenta Maeda takes a bit of a hit today for the ballpark, the Dodgers are in Chase Field this weekend, but is still worth a look in tournaments for a number of factors. Last year the right hander finished with a .384 wOBA against left handed bats, and a .298 from the right side. This bodes well in his favor against the Diamondbacks Righty heavy lineup. The DBacks, despite playing in one of baseball’s more hitter friendly parks, are batting with a team wOBA of .319 and have only gone long 15 times so far this season, though 9 of those did come at home. They also strike out at a 25.3% K rate which is the third worst rate in the majors and provides a nice upside boost to Maeda, a pitcher that struck out 9.17 batters per 9 last year and is holding at an even 9 per 9 so far this year. The Dodgers are favored to win, though not by much, but if they can get the runs across early and Maeda builds up the Ks he could pay handsomely tonight. Dan Straily FD 7700 DK 7800 Opponent - SD (Weaver) Park - @SDFD - 30.79 DK - 20.31 Through three starts so far this season, Dan Straily is sitting with a 1-1 record in his new setting down in south beach. Tonight, he leaves Marlins park behind for the extremely pitcher friendly Petco Park in San Diego, home of the poor hitting Padres. San Diego is hitting with a piddling .287 team wOBA to start this season, and is striking out at an average 22.5% clip. The Marlins aren’t favored to win by much either, in fact, only one pitcher is looking like a solid option for a win tonight, we’ll get to him in a moment. Regardless of the win factor, the spacious park and poor offense provides us with plenty of potential upside for Straily making him an appealing tournament option on the main...

There are some elite pitchers at the top and that's who we're interested in. Starting off with Corey Kluber, he faces off with the White Sox. They are an extremely underwhelming offense against righties. Jose Abreu and Todd Frazier are really the only guys to be scared of and they both strike out a ton. The bottom of the order is absolutely atrocious and most of the guys have no upside and a lot of K potential. Tim Anderson and Tyler Saladino are also very impatient hitters and K a lot more than most speedsters. Kluber is dominant against both sides of the plate and struck out nearly 10 batters per 9 innings in 2016. Kluber has the best curveball in baseball and while the sample size is small, this White Sox team have a swinging strike rate of 54% against the curve so far. Kluber has a ton of upside to match is great cash game floor. His price is fair on both sites and I don't see a need to get off of Kluber. If you do want to go way down in salary, there are a few guys who are interesting on DK. Alex Wainwright and Alex Meyer are both pretty high in the optimizer right now and could be interesting GPP options. With so many offenses to choose from, there are countless GPP options on this slate. Justin Verlander FD 9400 DK 10300 Opponent - MIN (Santiago) Park - @MIN FD - 36.95 DK - 24.29 If you want to stay at the elite end and save a bit of salary, Verlander is your guy. He struggled last time out against the Indians, giving up an insane 9 earned runs in just 4 innings. He was simply not on his game and Asmus left him out for the wolves. He should be back to his normal self tonight when the Tigers head into Target Field. The Twins offense is one with a lot of strikeouts and very few...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher Early Lance McCullers FD 8900 DK 9800 Opponent - LAA (Shoemaker) Park - @HOU  FD - 31.92 DK - 21.04 This early slate is a very intriguing one. While we only have 4 games on the docket, they are 4 good match-ups. Without any true dumpster fire pitcher, there's no stack that will be insanely heavily owned. Because of that, there will be spots where we ant to pay up for talent. Chris Sale is very expensive and restricts a lot of that flexibility. The Blue Jays are also a good team on paper against lefties. Sale is a fantastic tournament play and if some value does arise, I don't mind him in cash games. Our favorite on this slate is Lance McCullers. McCullers is just as good at striking out batters as Sale, if not better. He has historically struggled with control and staying away from the "big inning". This year has been a different story. He's walked only 3 batters in 3 starts and has 23 K's. While the inconsistency will remain to a degree, he looks to have a better hold on his fastball. Even in the start where he gave up 5 earned runs, he walked just 1 batter. This Angels team is one I will look to target a lot this season with righties. Outside of Trout and Calhoun, nobody scares me. Yunel Escobar and Albert Pujols are complete jokes against righties and strikeout 24% of the time each. In the bottom of the order, you have more of the same. McCullers has a ton of upside in this match-up and I like him in all formats. Main Noah Syndergaard FD 11200 DK 11800 Opponent - PHI (Nola) Park - @NYM FD - 41.62 DK - 27.31 Syndergaard suffered a torn fingernail against the Marlins last week. He is now using a fake nail, which is supposedly working just as well. As long as Syndergaard is comfortable enough to pitch, I'm going to trust he's capable. This also isn't a slate where you have a bevy of elite options. Syndergaard is easily the best pitcher in the best spot. Syndergaard is a top 3 pitcher when pitching well and he dominates every type of batter. In 2016, he...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher Early Kyle Hendricks FD 9300 DK 10200 Opponent - MIL (Milone) Park - @CHC FD - 34.25 DK - 22.45 While only 4 games, this early slate is a pretty interesting. We have a clear top offense and a few others who have a lot of potential. On the pitching side, we do have a few options. Felix Hernandez, Kyle Hendricks, Gerrit Cole, and Michael Wacha are all worthy of consideration. With that being said, Hendricks is my clear favorite in cash games. He has been a very consistent arm for 2 years now and the Bucks are one of the best possible match-ups on paper for Hendricks. The Brewers offer up a lot of righties that have high K rates and only a few lefties who can hit right-handers well. After the top 4, this Brewers team is extremely unintimidating. The Brewers also put up 7 runs last night and roughed up Lackey the night before, so people may be burned off of targeting the Brewers offense. Yesterday has nothing to do with today and this is the same team that was shut down by the Rockies just over a week ago. Don't let recency bias get the best of you. Hendricks was great against both sides of the plate (.256 wOBA) in 2016 and held a solid 8.05 K/9. Hendricks doesn't have the upside of Felix Hernandez. He can't strike out 12 batters and go 8. It's early in the season and you're looking for 7 innings, 6 strikeouts, and a win. Hendricks is the top pitcher on this early slate and an arm I will look to have a lot of exposure to. On FanDuel, it does become tough as you can only play 4 Cubs. Main Clayton Kershaw FD 12900 DK 13800 Opponent - COL (Anderson) Park - @LAD FD - 47.48 DK - 31.38 I know, very contrarian. The truth is Clayton Kershaw has to be here. Kershaw is easily the best pitcher in the league and is the top cash game option on 90% of the slates he pitches in. Tonight, he gets a very strong match-up with the Rockies in pitcher-friendly Dodgers Stadium. The Rockies are one of the absolute worst teams in the league...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher Brandon McCarthy FD 7000 DK 7900 Opponent - ARI (Ray) Park - @LAD FD - 33.07 DK - 21.58 This is a pretty interesting slate at pitcher. While we don't have any elite arms that stand out, there are some great arms that are a bit cheaper. Brandon McCarthy has been a solid arm for the better part of 3 years now when healthy. He has held a sub .310 wOBA against both righties and lefties since 2014 and a .311 BABIP backed it up. He also upped his K% to 9.40 in 2016, though the sample size could be ab it worrisome there with only 40 innings under his belt. He faces off with the Diamondbacks tonight, who notoriously struggle against righties and are also much worse on the road, away from the hitter-friendly Chase Field. McCarthy is fairly priced on both sites and makes for a very solid cash game option. He may be a bit underwhelming in tournaments just do to his ceiling but he lets you pay up elsewhere, so the argument is there. The win is also in question as Robbie Ray is a pretty good pitcher. Let's take a look at him, who's a bit better in tournaments. Robbie Ray FD 8000 DK 9800 Opponent - LAD (McCarthy) Park - @LAD FD - 33.48 DK - 22.12 In tournaments, Robbie Ray may be the way to go tonight. He has a solid strikeout floor around 5 and against this Dodgers team, the upside is there. In 2016, the Dodgers ranked dead last against lefties with a .275 wOBA, sitting 15 points behind the Phillies in 29th. They also struck out 23% of the time against lefties. When you combo that with Ray and his 11.25 K/9, we could see 10 K's and not be surprised. Ray dominated lefties (.298 wOBA) and struggled against righties, allowing 21 homers in 130 innings. The Dodgers only have a few righties to worry about and this park will sure help. Chase Field is a top 3 park for right-handed power and Dodgers Stadium is bottom 10. With all of this being said, this is Robbie Ray. If he can't locate his fastball, he will crumble. He has a much lower floor...
