We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher The Indians and Rays play at 6:10 EST, before the main slate. Both Carrasco and Archer are elite plays, with Carrasco being a bit safer. If you're playing the all-day slate, you almost have to have exposure to the mound in this game. Chase Anderson FD 8500 DK 6800 Opponent - SD (Perdomo) Park - @SD FD - 26.99 DK - 18.09 This slate is probably the worst we have seen all year long in terms of pitching. We don't even have any good pitchers. The most talented pitcher on the slate is Brandon McCarthy. That's why I may end up playing the all-day slate for the sole reason of getting exposure to Carlos Carrasco and Chris Archer. They are far above the field and could outscore the field 2x with no surprise. There are a few decent options in the main slate and I'll do my best to find the 2 guys who I think have the best chance of not getting destroyed. Chase Anderson and the Brew Crew travel to Petco Park, which has been the best pitchers ballpark in baseball over the last few years. The Padres are a bad offense and it's never a bad idea to target them when you're looking for pitchers. Everyone in this lineup has either a high K rate or no power. Wil Myers and Ryan Schimpf are the 2 best bats against righties and will be the 2 guys who give Anderson the most trouble. I can't sit here and pretend Chase Anderson is some kind of good pitchers. He's very average and has been all over the place in terms of peripherals over the last 2 seasons. He was horrible against righties last year but has turned that around and given up a .295 wOBA to them this season. On the flip side, he's now allowing a .370 wOBA to righties, though a .390 BABIP has something to do with that. I think Anderson will start to straighten out his numbers against lefties and if he can keep up the production against righties, he will be in for some solid starts. While I don't think Anderson is a guy with huge upside in this spot, I see him being my favorite...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitchers Luis Severino FD 9100 DK 9100 Opponent - HOU (Fiers) Park - @NYY FD - 31.66 DK - 20.9 We touched on DeGrom and Samardzija in the main article and they stand as strong options. We're now going to look at a few guys who deserve some tournament ownership. Severino is in a very interesting match-up, as the Astros as a team are very boom-or-bust. Guys like George Springer, Evan Gattis, and Carlos Correa have very high strikeout rates and are seeing a ballpark downgrade from Minute Maid Park to Yankees Stadium, which is an underrated tough park for righties. Severino has been phenomenal in Yankees Stadium, striking out 10 and 11 in 2 earlier starts this season. While I'm not completely sure I'm willing to trust these 2017 numbers as gospel, I do think Severino has improved a lot since just last year. He has 3 ++ pitches and is striking out righties at a 12 per 9 clip. The upside is ginormous here and so is the floor. The Astros can hit homers and if Severino is missing his spots, things can get ugly. I will have some Severino exposure in tournaments, mostly where I am stacking the Yankees and looking for a big night out of a lower-owned stud. Jose Quintana FD 8700 DK 10200 Opponent - SD (Weaver) Park - @CHW FD - 33.37 DK - 22.07 Well, you have to pay attention when the Padres are facing a lefty. They are easily a bottom-5 offense in baseball against southpaws and strikeout a ton as well. They travel today into U.S. Cellular Field to take on the White Sox and Jose Quintana. Quintana is a bit of an enigma. He's been in the Cy Young conversation at times but has usually ended up being very under-rated and not much of a conversation piece. I think it's because he doesn't have huge strikeout numbers and keeps his name out of headlines. He's a very good pitcher overall and is extremely dominant against lefties (.261 wOBA). He's not bad against righties either, sporting a .320 wOBA in 2016. He...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher Jeff Samardzija FD 8600 DK 9200 Opponent - CIN (Adleman) Park - @SF FD - 33.65 DK - 22.19 This slate isn't too great from a pitcher perspective. We don't really have anyone at the top that stands out above the rest, nor any value options that are in a positive spot. We do have a few guys that are in good spots, though the risk is very evident in each spot. Jeff "Shark" Samardzija will start us out here at home against the Reds. While the Reds are an offense we typically don't target much, they do see a huge downgrade with AT&T Park and it's pitiful hitting environment. The Reds are an offense used to hitting in Great American Ballpark, where routine fly balls often end up in the seats. We also avoid the Reds due to Billy Hamilton and Jose Peraza. While they are still very present, Shark is good at holding runners and should do a pretty good job of keeping those guys off base. Samardzija is a pitcher who doesn't leave too much up to the imagination. He's slightly below average against lefties (.330 wOBA) and dominant against righties (.246 wOBA). He strikes out around 7 per 9 innings and doesn't have many problems with control. While he's not a guy you look to go out and have a 8 inning, 8 strikeout performance, he's also not one you're usually worried about getting knocked out in the first 3 innings. He's a very consistent arm in AT&T Park and this week Reds offense should be a rather easy match-up. Samardzija is my top option in cash games and tournaments on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Jacob deGrom FD 10700 DK 11000 Opponent - MIL (Peralta) Park - @MIL FD - 36.4 DK - 24.08 If you feel the need to pay up, Jacob DeGrom is a fantastic option. He's been consistent all season long and has flashed the 55 FP+ twice already. While this Brewers lineup is one with a lot of noise around it, they are a lot worse than the average fan thinks. Eric Thames and Ryan Braun are great, but they do strike out a ton and both are inevitably due for regression. Outside of...

We've got you completely covered. Arizona Diamondbacks When a team outside of Coors Field has a higher implied team total than both teams inside Coors, you must take notice. The Diamondbacks currently hold a 5.77 total and I don't think Vegas is too bullish. Trevor Williams is absolutely horrible ad will be pitching in Chase Field, which is the 2nd best hitting environment in baseball. While the D-Backs are typically a team we stack against lefties, they have plenty going for them against right-handers. The usual suspects, Jake Lamb and David Peralta, are the 2 anchors here. They both hold .370+ wOBA's against righties and in Chase Field, aren't many better. Then we have A.J. Pollock and Paul Goldschmidt, the 2 best players on the team. While both righties, they have no problem with the same handedness. If you have the ability to pay up, I would recommend going with the top 4. If you need to pay down a bit or would like to get super sneaky, there are some options here. Yasmany Tomas and Brandon Drury both have a ton of power and could easily hit 2 HR's against Williams and this Pirates bullpen. Mathis and Owings are the 2 guys I would likely ignore, though Owings has definitely shown flashes in the past. Main stack - A.J. Pollock, David Peralta, Paul Goldschmidt, Jake Lamb Sneaky stack - Paul Goldschmidt, Jake Lamb, Yasmany Tomas, Brandon Drury Dodgers / Rockies Of course, these 2 offenses are in play. We have an 11 over/under with both teams projected to score around 5.5 runs. Personally, I like the Rockies a bit more. With Ian Desmond back, they are set up much better for lefties. Alex Wood does have a solid changeup, though I don't see that moving anywhere near how it does on most nights. In Coors Field, you like to target pitchers who rely on movement. Due to the elevation, the ball doesn't move the same way and will often hang up in the zone. For example, it's why we see the Rockies picking up guys like Jon Gray and Senzatela, who throw close...

We've got you completely covered. Pitchers Jon Lester FD 10300 DK 10700 Opponent - STL (Martinez) Park - @STLFD - 32.73 DK - 21.68 While Lester can be frustrating to roster at times, he tends to be one of the more consistent pitchers in the league. He's gone 5 innings in every start this year and his pitch count will be up as we approach the dog days of summer. In 2016, Lester was the best pitcher on the Cubs. He held a .237 wOBA against lefties and a .278 against righties, which are both very elite numbers. He strikes out 9 per 9 innings and typically has fantastic control of his primary pitches. He moves from Wrigley Field to Busch Stadium, where the ball seems to die in the air. I don't think this Cardinals team is very good this year and their 2 best hitters (Diaz + Carpenter) see a negative platoon split here. We all know the problem with rostering Lester. He can't Hold runners or even throw over to 1st base. Fortunately, Dexter Fowler is the only guy the Cards have that poses a real problem. This is a team without much speed and Lester should be able to stay calm with guys on base. Remember, all of those numbers are with him being atrocious at holding runners. He finds a way to get it done and should be in the proper mindset for this one. Carlos Martinez and the Cards are some stiff competition and we know how competitive Lester is. While I still like Sale more, Lester definitely holds some appeal. Tanner Roark FD 8600 DK 8800 Opponent - PHI (Pivetta) Park - @WSH FD - 34.51 DK - 22.63 It looks like Roark will finally be making his start. With weather and late news being such a disaster lately, make sure you keep an eye out on Twitter as lineup lock approaches. Roark, one of the more consistent arms of the short season, has sat right around the 6 IP/ 2 ER/ 5 K stat line all season long. If the Nats are able to put up some runs...
