Pitchers Max Scherzer FD 11600 DK 12600 Opponent - ATL (Colon) Park - @ATLFD - 39.8 DK - 26.29 While Scherzer isn't in the best possible match-up, he's still Max Scherzer. It's really that simple. He's a top 3 pitcher in baseball and does face-off with a very weak offense. The problem has been the runs they have put up at home. SunTrust Park has played very friendly to hitters and it is a bit scary to roster pitchers. In fact, I was at SunTrust just two nights ago and saw the ball fly off the bat of Luke Maile and Marcus Stroman. It might be real. However, look at this offense without Freddie Freeman. Ender Inciarte and Matt Kemp are somewhat good (I guess), but other than that, this lineup is horrible. Brandon Phillips and Nick Markakis are in the 2 and 4 hole, which should tell you a lot. Looking lower in the order, well, you can see for yourself. These guys are absolutely horrible and Scherzer should be able to dice them up. He makes sense in all formats and shouldn't be too popular on a slate with a lot of solid options. He is expensive but has more upside than anyone else. Also, there isn't 1 offense you MUST pay up for. You are able to pay down at a few spots and make it easy on both FD and DK. Julio Urias FD 7500 DK 8200 Opponent - MIA (Straily) Park - @LADFD - 30.75 DK - 20.12 The Marlins and Dodgers got into a bench clearing brawl last night, because the Marlins are horrible. They ultimately couldn't take the beating and had to throw at someone for hitting a home run. Julio Urias will take the mound against the same measly Marlins tonight, who hold one of the lowest implied team totals on the night. While they are better against lefties, they still strikeout a ton (7th). Urias has been exceptional to start the year and this is a guy with as much potential as any prospect in the sport. He has the chance to...

We've got you completely covered. Detroit Tigers This is a bit of a weird slate. There is a big storm going over the country and it looks like it may cause a few delays. Make sure to keep an eye out on Twitter as lineup lock approaches, as a lot can change quickly. This Tigers game looks like it should be ok, though there are slight chances of a delay. The Tigers hold one of the highest implied team totals on the day and face the worst pitcher, A.J. Griffin. Griffin has been extremely lucky this year, albeit still being horrible. He's held a .220 combined wOBA. Yes, .220. The league average is around .305 and it's a stabilizing stat, so there isn't much a pitcher can do to move that number. We are going to see regression hit Griffin like a monster very soon, and we want to be on the opposing lineup. This Tigers team is certainly explosive and can hit a ton of HR's. Miggy and V-Mart have been out, which is definitely a big hole. However, it moves up a few cheaper guys and gives them a shot at the 3 and 4 hole. The top 4 (Kinsler, Castellanos, Martinez, Upton) are definitely the best stack, though there is always merit in looking lower in the order. Alex Avila and Tyler Collins are both good against righties and will be much lower owned than the top 4. A.J. Griffin has allowed a combined .368 wOBA since last year and things seem to be on the down and down. If weather abides, the Tigers should be in for a solid showing. Main stack - Ian Kinsler, Nick Castellanos, J.D. Martinez, Justin Upton Sneaky stack - Ian Kinsler, J.D. Martinez, Alex Avila, Tyler Collins Colorado Rockies This is another game that has some rain, so keep an eye out. If it's a full-go, the Rockies are a very interesting tournament stack. Tim Adleman is absolutely HORRIBLE and I see no reason to expect improvement. He's allowed a .340 wOBA, 20 homers, and a 17% K rate through 96 innings. Great American Ballpark...

We've got you completely covered. Pitcher Jake Arrieta FD 9700 DK 9400 Opponent - MIL (Anderson) Park - @CHCFD - 37.25 DK - 24.43 It's not the best day we've seen for pitching but it's far from the worst, and most of the arms available won't kill your salary either. Sure you can pay all the way up for Scherzer in Atlanta, but the system thinks you can do just as well, while saving aout 2K in the process by going with Arrieta on the early slate. Arrieta has been knocked around a bit in his last few starts, but one of those games was in Coors, so that's bound to happen, and more recently the Cards took him for 4 runs in six innings in St Louis. Today he's getting some home cooking against the Brewers, and while the Brewers may have the best record in the NL central heading in to this weekend series, they're not exactly an offensive powerhouse. They come in to the series right in the middle of the majors in team wOBA (.315) with a 90 wRC+ which dip to .308 and 89 against right handed pitching. They also strike out more than any team in baseball at a whopping 25.5% clip. Ryan Braun isn't eligible to return to the lineup until Sunday at the earliest, so if Arrieta can just keep Thames in the ballpark, He shouldn't have much trouble with this righty heavy lineup. I can see a case for Scherzer in gpp if you want to go that route, but I love Arrieta in all formats for the value he brings to cash games, and the separation his recent outings may earn him in tournaments. Robbie Ray FD 9100 DK 8900 Opponent - SD (Perdomo) Park - @SDFD - 35.52 DK - 23.48 Robbie Ray takes the hill tonight in San Diego with a 2-3 record in 8 starts this season. This one is pretty cut and dry when you look into the stats. The Padres K more than any team in baseball besides the aforementioned Brewers at 25%, plus their .297 team wOBA and 85 wRC+ are second only to the Phillies for being the worst in the majors. They don't discriminate when it comes to the split either,...

We've got you completely covered. Chicago Cubs Welp, I didn't plan on putting the Cubs in the top spot here. However, when looking through the games this morning, Wrigley Field is blowing out at over 20 MPH. Wrigley is easily one of the most influenced stadiums in baseball by wind and you always want to keep an eye out for it. Scott Feldman may not be the worst pitcher around, though he's not very good either. He's 34 years old and doesn't have many, if any, years left in the tank. He allowed a .342 combined wOBA against both righties and lefties and followed that up with some even worse peripherals. In just under 80 innings, Feldman managed to allow a 58% LOB (left-on-base) rate, which is just stupid. Every pitcher usually sits around 8% and Feldman has never been a guy with more success out of the stretch. The regression will hit him early and often this year and the Cubs should do some damage. While guys like Rizzo and Bryant are an easy choice for your stacks, make sure you don't get cute. With that being said, this offense is very good and can put together runs from a lot of different spots. If you want to get sneaky, don't be hesitant in attacking the bottom of that order. The Cubs now hold the highest implied team run total on the board and are my favorite team in both cash games and tournaments. Main stack - Kyle Schwarber, Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist, Addison Russell Sneaky stack - Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Addison Russell, Willson Contreras, Javier Baez Texas Rangers The Rangers were originally slated to be my favorite offense on this slate, though the wind in Wrigley Field changed that around. The Rangers, who have been hitting the ball well, will be facing off with Zach Eflin. Eflin is not good at all and hasn't shown any signs of promise. He's allowed a.341 combined wOBA and has had a lot of trouble keeping the ball in the park (2.27 HR/9). He now travels into Globe Life Park, which is a...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher Clayton Kershaw FD 12500 DK 14400 Opponent - SF (Cueto) Park - @SF FD - 44.58 DK - 29.43 When Clayton Kershaw is pitching, you can expect him to be mentioned. When he's pitching on a short slate, it's tough to go anywhere else, especially when the match-up is so nice. While the Giants are typically decent against lefties (8th in 2016), they have been no match for Kershaw. While BvP (Batter vs Pitcher) is a stat without much merit due to its usual small sample size, Kershaw has pitched against the Giants a ton. He's dominated their lineup and has already pitched a 7 IP/ 7 K game in AT&T Park this season. Though it's not anywhere near the front of the list on why I love Kershaw, it's great to see a guy dominate in an identical situation multiple times.  While I think it goes without being said, Kershaw is the best pitcher in baseball. I don't think that's arguable either. In 2016, he sported a combined .186 (LOL) wOBA and followed it up with a 10.39 K/9. Kershaw has gotten extremely unlucky this season against righties, sporting a .377 wOBA and 3.13 xFIP. He's still dominating and will continue to do so all season long. This Giants team is not the same as it's been in years past, already holding the league-low .276 wOBA this season. Kershaw is an elite cash game and tournament play, giving you the highest floor and ceiling on the slate. With that being, look at that price! Kershaw is going to cost you a pretty penny and there is always merit in getting some extra funds for the bats. Cueto and McCullers are both pretty interesting, though I really like the upside McCullars brings against the Marlins. All in all, Kershaw is the clear top option. If you are looking to pay up for bats, McCullers is a great option. Michael Pineda FD 8600 DK 10100 Opponent - KC (Vargas) Park - @KC FD - 31.71 DK - 21 On this main slate, the pitching isn't great. While we definitely have some solid options to choose from, nobody is safe. Kyle Hendricks and Michael Fulmer are the two most expensive guys, but have tough...
