Pitcher Early Clayton Kershaw FD 12300 DK 12800 Opponent - WSH (Strasburg) Park - @LAD FD - 41.71 DK - 27.47 On this 3 game early slate, there isn’t anywhere else I could advise going. We all know Kershaw is the best option and it will always come down to the slate and whether or not he’s reasonably affordable. You can definitely get it done here. We have a few offenses to target and with it being a daytime slate, there will be punt plays that emerge as lineups come out. Kershaw faces the Nationals today, at home in pitcher-friendly Dodgers Park. While the Nationals are definitely a scary lineup by name, they are worse against lefties and strikeout more than league average. Kershaw is pure death to lefties, so the likes of Harper and Murphy will be minimized greatly. Ryan Zimmerman and Anthony Rendon are the 2 big bats in the lineup against lefties. They have both held .390+ wOBA’s against them in 2017 and will be the 2 guys Kershaw needs to focus on. The strikeouts will come as they always do and he will likely go at least 7 innings, with the real possibility for 9 each and every start. We all know how historically great Kershaw is, so I don’t need to sit here and school you on why he’s a good pitcher. He’s held a sub .280 wOBA in 3 straight seasons and tends to strikeout around 9 or 10 per 9 innings. Kershaw will cost you a pretty penny, but it may just end up being worth it in both cash games and tournaments on such a small slate. Main Zack Greinke or Dallas Keuchel? These guys are extremely close tonight and I think both are worth a look. The only problem with Keuchel is his expected regression. He currently holds a .222 BABIP, which is a stat that isn't controlled by the pitcher (yes, groundball pitchers typically have lower BABIP, but only .10 points or so). At his price, it may be troubling to pay for a guy who is slightly outperforming his peripherals. That's not to say he's a bad pitcher or even a good one. He is a great pitcher and makes for a...

Pitcher Carlos Martinez FD 10000 DK 12500 Opponent - CIN (Wojciechowski) Park - @CIN FD - 30.71 DK - 20.37 We have an interesting 7-game slate on our hands tonight without any single pitcher or offense that stands out. Ownership will end up being rather spread out, which makes it a very fun slate to play in both cash games and tournaments. At pitcher, you can pay up for either Carlos Martinez, Gio Gonzalez, or Jeff Samardzija. Carlos Martinez is our favorite of the bunch, facing off with the Reds in Great American Ballpark. While Martinez got off to a bit of a rough start, he has certainly turned that around. He's been over 40 FanDuel points in 6 straight and has one of his best match-ups yet tonight. The Reds have ranked in the bottom 1 against lefties in terms of both hard contact rate and park adjusted wOBA. Martinez has sported a .252 wOBA against righties and a .292 against lefties, fitting his peripherals perfectly. He holds and 18% line drive rate and a 29% hard contact rate, which is in the upper tier of starting pitchers. Great American Ballpark may not be the best spot for pitchers, but it's doable. Martinez has pitched well here in the past and it's not like you have a great alternative in a strong park. Martinez is the top cash game and tournament option on both sites and ou can definitely fit him comfortably if you're willing to pay down elsewhere. Junior Guerra FD 8200 DK 7600 Opponent - SF (Samardzija) Park - @MIL FD - 23.74 DK - 15.79 If you feel the need to pay up for some bats, you can certainly look down to Junior Guerra. Guerra emerged last year as a guy with a lot of promise and I definitely think he will end up being a quality starting pitcher. He has 3 strong pitches and a slider he will rarely throw. This isn't a young guy, either. He left the minors in 2008 and returned in 2012, gathering some valuable experience in the Mexican League. He held both lefties and righties under a .280 wOBA in 2016 and while that may be a bit ambitious to expect, he should sit...

Pitchers Kyle Hendricks FD 9000 DK 7800 Opponent - STL (Wacha) Park - @CHC FD - 33.59 DK - 22.03 We touched on Chris Sale and Justin Verlander in the main picks article and both of those guys remain very much in play. We now have 2 guys who are aren't quite as good plays, but will be lower owned and have the ability to have a very solid game. Kyle Hendricks has been coming around as of late and remains one of the safer options when on the mound. While he's not going to strikeout 10 or go 9 innings, he will usually go around 6-7 innings and K 6-8. His price is a lot lower than it should be and on DraftKings, he maybe a play in cash games. The Cardinals lineup is not very good and in Wrigley Field, they should struggle. While there are plenty of guys with the ability hurt Hendricks, the Cardinals have struck out 21% of the time and have been much worse on the road. 5-9 in this order is very weak, with Yadier Molina being the only guy who has much of a chance to put one out. On FanDuel, I don't think Hendricks is necessary. He is too expensive and it just makes more sense to go Sale or Verlander. All in all, Hendricks is pretty safe and makes for a very nice play on DraftKings, where he is far too cheap. Jose Berrios FD 9200 DK 8000 Opponent - LAA (Nolasco) Park - @LAA FD - 26.48 DK - 17.61 Jose Berrios was one of the top prospects in baseball for the past few years and we're now seeing why. He has ace stuff and is already throwing quality games on the regular. He's posted a great .271 wOBA against both lefties and righties and you can make the case for him n both cash and tournaments at his low DK price. This Angels lineup is absolutely horrible without Mike Trout ad we should be targeting them. Albert Pujols is the only plus hitter and he strikes out 26%...

We've got you completely covered. Houston Astros Martin Perez may not be as bad as a lot of people make him out to be, but I'll assure you he's not very good at all. Perez is a lefty who has struggled every single year against righties, sitting somewhere between .340 and .360 in each of the last 5 seasons. He's also struggled against lefties to start this season, so I don't hate a tournament flier on a guy like Reddick if he's in the lineup. Jose Altuve, George Springer, and Carlos Correa will all be very popular and make for extremely solid plays at their respective positions. Honestly, the Astros have about 7 guys you can play comfortably. Gattis, Gonzalez, and Gurriel are all best suited for stacks where the top 4 will be much higher owned. In cash games, just go ahead and play the chalk bats. They are chalk for a reason and that reason is a .400 wOBA by both Springer and Altuve against lefties. They also move from Minute Maid Park to Globe Life Park in Arlington, which is a big deal. The entire Astros lineup is in play here and you can get super sneaky in tournaments if you'd like. Main Stack - Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, George Springer, Evan Gattis Sneaky Stack - Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, Marwin Gonzalez, Alex Bergman Los Angeles Dodgers The Dodgers are rarely one of the top stacks, as the environment in LA is rarely conducive to runs. The Dodgers head on the road to take on the Brewers in Miller Park. Miller Park was a top 10 park for power in 2016 and rated 8th the year before. They face off with a pitcher in Zach Davies who has been absolutely atrocious. While I doubt we can expect the horrid numbers he has posted so far this year to continue, you can expect him to struggle against both sides of the plate. He has no great pitch and relies on painting the corners. The Dodgers are not a team to mess with, littered with big bats all through the lineup. Corey Seager and...

We've got you completely covered. Pitcher Chris Sale FD 11400 DK 12800 Opponent - BAL (Tillman) Park - @BAL FD - 44.66 DK - 29.48 Welcome to Sunday baseball! We have a very interesting slate on our hands with plenty of pitching and more than a few offenses with implied totals over 5. Per usual, FanDuel and DraftKings have very different pricing structures. FanDuel is a lot more lenient and will let you pay up for a few bats, as well as an elite pitcher. On DraftKings, you have to be a bit more conservative. If you do elect to go Sale, you will have to pay down at most of your other spots. Either way, you have to consider Chris Sale. Sale has been great this year, even by his own standards. He is holding both lefties and righties to a sub .265 wOBA while striking out nearly 13 batters per 9 innings. This is his best start to any season and while we may see righties improve a little, his strikeout numbers look to be legitimate. Even when he struggled against the White Sox, he struck out 9 batters and kept you alive in cash games. His upside is higher than any pitcher in the league and the Red Sox have been letting him go well over 100 pitches. The Baltimore Orioles lineup is a very interesting one against a pitcher like Sale. They Strikeout a lot and rely on the power stroke for runs. I think Sale will likely give up a couple runs, but strikeout more than enough guys to make up for it. Camden Yards is a tough place to pitch, so don't be surprised if a guy like Trumbo or Machado connects once and sends one over. All in all, Sale is the top option on the board in all formats. He has the highest upside and floor at a price than can be managed on both sites. Justin Verlander FD 9800 DK 9600 Opponent - CHW (Holmberg) Park - @DET FD - 37.05 DK - 24.44 Verlander seems to always be in the mix. He has remained consistent and kept healthy for what seems like over 2 years at this point. Once a guy expected to fall off the earth like Matt...
