He's headed to the 10-day DL and should be back before we know it. That still does nothing to help to all of my dead lineups from yesterday, but what can we do. We now move on to a slate tonight where pitching is rather cut and dry. While there are 4 or 5 guys who deserve consideration, I think the top 2 is pretty clear in deGrom and Cole. Starting with deGrom, what's not to like? He's striking out over 10 batters per 9, walking just 2, and doing a good job of keeping speed off the bases that may result in a big inning. deGrom has been effective against both sides of the plate, with lefties posting a .306 wOBA and righties a respective .274. They now move into Petco Park to face one of the worst teams in the league, if not the worst. The Padres have an implied run total of 3.30 and are easily the lowest projected offense of the slate. deGrom is going to come out here and dominate in the huge park. He should be comfortable enough to let his fielders play and he shouldn't be biting at the corners all game long. He has the most upside and most safety, coming in as a clear number 1 in my book. Gerrit Cole FD 8700 DK 9900 Opponent - SF (Cain) Park - @SF FD - 33.51 DK - 22.01 I love to target the San Francisco Giants. Once a team that would destroy right-handed pitching (just 2 years ago), they now absolutely stink. So far in 2017, the Giants are the league's absolute worst team against righties. Yes, the Giants are the worst team in baseball against right-handed pitching. The team we would avoid at all costs is now the top target in the game. They also play in AT&T Park, which doesn't help the hitters too much at all. It's actually one of the 2 best ballparks for pitching. Gerrit...

We've got you completely covered. Kansas City Royals It's almost upsetting how atrocious Derek Holland has been against righties. Giving up 19 home runs in 77 innings is unheard of and something you won't see often. At all. Holland has also given up another 21 doubles to righties, to put his wOBA over .380. He now moves into Kauffman Stadium to face the Royals, who have been gifted a 5.00+ implied run total from Vegas. Lorenzo Cain is my favorite of the bunch and he has always been a menace to left-handed pitching. Both Bonifacio and Perez have a bit of power and can hit lefties rather well. Whit Merrifield is a solid cash game option up front and one of the more intriguing options in the tourney stack. Either way you go, I would make sure Lorenzo Cain is involved. Main Stack - Lorenzo Cain, Jorge Bonifacio, Whit Merrifield, Salvador Perez Sneaky Stack- Lorenzo Cain, Jorge Bonifacio, Mike Moustakas, Jorge Soler Minnesota Twins The Twins are also facing a guy with some horrible splits against righties. Matt Boyd, while not as bad as Derek Holland, has sported a .371 wOBA against righties. He's also gotten a bit lucky, which means his wOBA should be somewhere around the .400 mark. Boyd is a young arm and he has a lot of work to do. It's clear that he's not ready for the majors yet and righties are abusing him. Brian Dozier and Miguel Sano are the creams of the crop with Robbie Grossman and Eduardo Escobar following closely. Both are switch hitters with a ton of skill against lefties. All in all, the Twins are an underrated offense with as much power potential as anyone. Main Stack - Brian Dozier, Miguel Sano, Robbie Grossman, Eduardo Escobar Sneaky Stack- Brian Dozier, Miguel Sano, Kennys Vargas, Robbie Grossman Try out InGame Fantasy for a totally new DFS experience. We've got you completely covered. Pitchers Jose Quintana FD 8600 DK 9700 Opponent - STL (Wacha) Park - @CHCFD - 33.83 DK - 22.18 Quintana surely quieted the haters in his first Cubs start, going 7 innings and striking out 12, en route to a victory. It was definitely more strikeouts than he usually grabs, but nothing too crazy. He's always been very consistent, though the influx in strikeouts isn't all that surprising, considering we saw it more than a few times last season. He now faces the Cardinals, a team who is far worse against lefties. We saw Jon Lester shut them down last night and I wouldn't be surprised to see an encore out of Quintana. Matt Carpenter, Dexter Fowler, and Yadier Molina are all worse against left-handers. When you look at the lineup, it's just not very scary. His price is down and with so many elite pitching options, he lets you pay up elsewhere while getting tons of upside and safety. This game will cap the night off and start at 8 PM, which can always make things interesting towards the end of the night. As long as he's pitching well, Maddon will have no problem with a 100-110 pitch outing. Dinelson Lamet FD 7900 DK 7500 Opponent - SF (Blach) Park - @SFFD - 27.53 DK - 18.35 Dinelson Lamet is a very scary pitcher to roster and just as scary to recommend. On one hand, he struggles against lefties and is a very erratic pitcher. On the other hand, he has a phenomenal match-up and the upside is through the roof. With an K/9 approaching 13, Lamet has elite K numbers. He's also held opposing bats to a 14% line drive rate, which is elite. He takes on the absolute worst team in the league against righties in the San Francisco Giants. They have held a .290 team wOBA and show no signs of hope. While I would not hope for a clean slate out of Lamet, I'd look for 7 innings, 2 runs, and 10-13 strikeouts. The other stat line for Lamet is 2 innings, 8 runs allowed, and...

We've got you completely covered.   Pitcher Clayton Kershaw FD 12500 DK 13600 Opponent - ATL (Newcomb) Park - @LAD FD - 49.17 DK - 32.63 I know, you'd never expect Kershaw to be the top pitcher on the slate. Especially against the juggernaut of a team that is the Atlanta Braves. With all joking aside, you can't argue against Kershaw tonight. This is one of the best possible matchups in the entire league for him and it's shown in the Vegas line. Sitting at a 7 over/under, the Dodgers are favored by a stupid -360. It's the most I can remember seeing in a while and not a number you will see more than once or twice per season. It doesn't take much explanation to show why Kershaw should dominate here. First of all, he's the best. He's held both lefties and righties to a sub .300 wOBA while striking out 10.5 and walking 1.5 per 9 innings. You then get to the Braves lineup, which is putrid to begin with. You then add in the top bats being left-handed and it creates a recipe for Kershaw success. As always, it comes down to the price and whether you can fit him. If you can, he's the top option in all formats and it's not too close. Corey Kluber FD 11300 DK 12400 Opponent - TOR (Happ) Park - @CLE FD - 41.36 DK - 27.28 This is a day where you probably want to pay up at pitcher. The only arm I would consider paying down for is Dinelson Lamet and he's not even that cheap. Instead, let's stay in the high-end and focus on Corey Kluber. Kluber and the Indians move into Toronto to face off with the Blue Jays, a team that is far better against lefties. Against righties, the Jays have ranked 23rd in baseball with a .311 team wOBA. They strikeout 22% of the time and have shown no signs of being unlucky. Kluber on the other hand, has returned to his dominant self. He's striking out 12 batters per 9 innings and dominating both sides of the plate. The Blue Jays will likely have at least 6 righties in the lineup, whom Kluber has held a .239 wOBA against. If you're looking...

We've got you completely covered. Pitchers Jon Lester FD 9600 DK 12200 Opponent - STL (Wainwright) Park - @CHCFD - 35.56 DK - 23.35 We touched on Archer, Price, and Tanaka in the main picks article and they remain very solid in all formats. We'll first look at Lester on this early slate, who is clearly the way to go. With just 2 games to choose from, Lester should be around 80-90% owned. He faces the Cardinals, a team he has always fared well against. They are worse against lefties and have held a 21% k rate on very underwhelming peripherals. The Cardinals are never a team I actively target, but if I'm going to, its with a lefty. Matt Carpenter is much worse against lefties and the same can be said for Fowler (sometimes). The Cardinals will throw out a bad lineup full of righties that don't mesh together. If Lester is throwing strikes and not allowing guys on the bases, he will have a very solid game. If he starts picking the corners and walking guys, brace for impact. It's the nature of the game and if you're playing an all-day slate, he's a solid way to go in a tournament. On the early slate, you don't really have an option. Sean Manaea FD 8600 DK 6600 Opponent - NYM (Wheeler) Park - @NYMFD - 28.5 DK - 18.97 Folks are still coming around on Sean Manaea and his ownership has taken a hit because of it on a weekly basis. He deserves to be looked at like a very good pitcher, because he most certainly is one. Manaea has stepped up in a huge way this year against both sides of the plate, sporting a .308 (R) and .211 (L) respectively. He's also striking out 9 batters per 9 and holding opposing batters to a 20% line drive rate. He'll now face off with the New York Mets in Citi Field. We know the Mets are much worse against lefties and it makes sense. All of their big lefty bats have serious trouble hitting same-handed pitching. This leaves the Mets with a bunch...
