He's always been a great arm out of the pen, but he's never been able to transition to a starter, despite multiple attempts. He'll be gone by the 4th inning and hopefully, the Jays are able to do some damage by then. Coming into the 4th, the game will be given to the bullpen. With Hernandez and Bedrosian pitching last night, they will see the likes of Parker, Middleton, and Pounders. Parker is pretty good and will likely be given the reigns if they have the lead. If not, Pounders and Middleton can be taken advantage of in a huge way. This Jays lineup is obviously lethal and they can do damage from a lot of different spots. Bautista, Donaldson, and Morales are the guys with the biggest pop and I'd likely have them on all Jays stacks. After, the lineup is very spread out and you can really go anywhere. Russell Martin is fairly priced and fills one of the weaker positions in C. Main Stack - Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista, Kendrys Morales, Russell Martin Sneaky Stack - Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista, Justin Smoak, Troy Tulowitzki Baltimore Orioles Austin Bibens-Dirkx is a fraud. He should not be in the majors, or even AAA. He's a 32-year-old AA pitcher who is loved by Rangers fans. He's gotten lucky in 2 starts and has found a way to get another. While his .340 combined wOBA is bad enough, a .210 BABIP is pretty astonishing. The wOBA will end up over .380 and I doubt this guy has many starts left, if any. He's just as bad against righties as he is lefties and has always struggled with the HR. He hosts the Orioles tonight in Globe Life Park, where the ball flies. The O's are an inherently risky team and it doesn't really matter who they are facing. They are always candidates to strike out 15 times and hit 2...

Pitcher EARLY Jacob deGrom FD 11200 DK 12900 Opponent - SEA (Gallardo) Park - @SEAFD - 36.37 DK - 24.08 After a couple of days with some less than appetizing pitching selections we return to a little bit of stability today with some solid arms throwing in some good spots on both slates. Early on we get Jacob deGrom of the New York Mets headed into Safeco Field to face the Mariners. The Mets are struggling to stay afloat due to a ton of injuries in a division the Nationals have pretty much run away with, but the one constant they have been able to rely on this season has been deGrom. An impressive 12-3 record and 3.30 ERA through 20 starts for the 29 year old now in his fourth season, deGrom ranks among the top ten arms in baseball with a 27.9 K% fanning 10.3 batter per nine innings pitched, and is also sporting a top ten xFIP of 3.45. The matchup isn't ideal, the Mariners don't K a ton (20.9%) and their team wOBA .318 is ranked right about average, but with a pitcher such as deGrom on the hill in one of the games more pitcher friendly parks, I'll happily take deGrom on the short set of early games. MAIN Corey Kluber FD 11900 DK 14000 Opponent - CHW (Gonzalez) Park - @CHWFD - 45.71 DK - 30.25 If deGrom on the early slate didn't help to make up for the past few days pitching options for you, on the main slate we get one Corey Kluber and who could ask for anything more? Kluber has been dominating any offense that crosses his path since returning from the DL earlier this season. In his past seven starts he has allowed a total of seven earned runs, limiting the opposition to one run or less in six of those games, while going into the eighth inning in all but one. Oh, and in the span he has struck out 80 while walking nine. I could go on for days about how incredible Kluber has been in recent weeks, but let's not over look the match up either. Kluber steps to the hill today against the White Sox in a game in...

We've got you completely covered. Arizona Diamondbacks It comes down to the Yankees and Diamondbacks on this early slate. When looking at Aaron Blair and Homer Bailey, I just have more confidence in Aaron Blair stinking it up. Blair is a guy who hasn't pitched since 2016, when he was absolutely atrocious. He posted a .432 wOBA against lefties and a .337 against righties. He throws 4 pitches but at this point just 3. His fastball is decent but when it's the only pitch you can throw for a strike, it doesn't work. He also allows stolen bases and has a hard time controlling base runners. Jake Lamb and David Peralta are obviously the 2 studs and you should not ignore either. There 2 of the best 10 bats in this league against righties when in Chase Field. After those 2, you have to go with 2 of Pollock, Goldy, and Martinez. They all have plenty of upside and safety. Main Stack - Jake Lamb, David Peralta, Paul Goldschmidt, J.D. Martinez Sneaky Stack - Jake Lamb, David Peralta, A. J. Pollock, Chris Herrmann Chicago Cubs The Cubs are easily the best stack on this main slate. Implied to score 5.82 runs, they hold the highest on the slate and match with the D-Backs for the day. The Cubs have the honor of facing off with James Shields, who is certainly one of the worst pitchers in the league. Shields has allowed a .442 wOBA to lefties and a .321 to righties that is relatively dominant. He's given up 12 homers in 40 innings and doesn't look to be changing his ways much from last season. As for the Cubs side, we know what they offer. Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant are 2 of the best bats in baseball and both must be on the stack. You then get into Ben Zobrist and Kyle Schwarber, who are surrounding. They are both great plays in all formats. The likes of Contreras, Russell, and Baez will all go under-owned and have a ton of upside in the matchup. In tournaments, don't be afraid to get some backend...

He's struggled in recent starts and while he hasn't fallen apart, the hinges are squeaking. Fortunately, we know who Jeff Samardzija is. This is a guy with a long track record that has proven himself over and over. As for this season, he's held drastic splits between lefties and righties, dominating the ladder. He's striking out close to 10 batters per 9 innings and has had some big games. The game will also be played in AT&T Park, so he has some room for error. He faces a very average Pirates team that has ranked 18th against righties in terms of wOBA at .311. All in all, there is some risk. However, this is a short slate and if you can't pay up for Sale or Severino, this is your best option. Carlos Martinez FD 8900 DK 8400 Opponent - COL (Hoffman) Park - @STLFD - 36.96 DK - 24.36 I ended up going with Wood for the main picks article, but could have easily gone Carlos Martinez. He has been great this season and takes on a Rockies team who is far worse on the road. The Rockies get some ill-deserved respect from DFS players due to them always being in play. We have to remember why they are in play so often. Outside of Coors Field, most of these guys are a shell of themselves. The only worries are Blackmon and Arenado, who don't rely on any type of ballpark for production. Martinez has been worse against lefties, but not horrible. He is striking out close to 10 and walking nearly 3. Busch Stadium is surely a pitchers park and Martinez has been exceptional there. If you want to save some funds or simply make a minor from Alex Wood, Carlos Martinez is a great way to go. Try out InGame Fantasy for a totally new DFS experience. Pitcher Early Chris Sale FD 11800 DK 13400 Opponent - SEA (Moore) Park - @SEA FD - 47.71 DK - 31.62 With the earlier slate being the smaller of the two, we don't have a ton of options at pitcher. Fortunately, we have one of the best around in Chris Sale. Sale and the Sox will face the Mariners in pitcher-friendly Safeco Field, which is a huge bump. We all know how great Sale is, but let's take a quick look at his numbers. Through 141 innings, he's held a .244 wOBA and has struck out over 12 batters per 9 innings. The match-up with the Mariners is also a pretty solid one. With Cano, Seager, and Segura all hitting righties much better, they rely on Nelson Cruz for production against lefties. While there's always a chance of him coming through. I trust Chris Sale to work around him. Sale is the clear option in the early slate. Late Alex Wood FD 9800 DK 11200 Opponent - MIN (Santana) Park - @LAD FD - 39.69 DK - 26 Alex Wood is a guy I had locked in last time out. Boy, that was very frustrating. After getting screwed by some errors and allowing some runs, he worked out of the trouble. In the next inning, he dropped a pop up with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs. The point is he had a really crappy start. He's perfectly fine and will be the same pitcher once he regains his rhythm. Wood has been one of the best pitchers in the league this season. Striking out 12 per 9 and sporting a combined .271 wOBA. The Twins have ranked 20th in the league with a .306 wOBA against righties and strikeout at a 21% rate. Wood may not be the safest option by nature, but he's the best you'll find on this slate and his price is perfectly fine. Catcher Early Gary Sanchez FD 3300 DK 4400 Opponent - CIN (Bailey) Park - @NYY FD - 13.3 DK - 10.22 While we only have 4 games on this slate, there are some nice offenses to choose from. The best of all is probably the Yankees, who are facing off with Homer Bailey....
