For the 2nd day in a row, we have to take what we can get. Fortunately, we do have an option or two who can deliver a bit of safety. The first of which is Luis Severino. Severino has proven himself this year and looks to be one of the upcoming elite arms in baseball. He's held both lefties and righties to a sub .284 wOBA and he's struck out over 10 batters per 9 innings. Severino is undoubtedly elite and while his age brings some inherent risk, it's been minimized greatly. He faces off with the Tigers in Yankee Stadium tonight. The Tigers have ranked 20th in the league against righties with a .306 wOBA and that number will only fall with J.D. Martinez out of town. They obviously have some intimidating sticks in the meat of the order, but fall off quickly and K 22% of the time. Severino is expensive, but he's necessary on this slate and makes for the top option in both cash and GPP's. Charlie Morton FD 8800 DK 10600 Opponent - TB (Cobb) Park - @HOU FD - 32.44 DK - 21.47 Charlie Morton has been really good this season and has also gotten a bit unlucky. Against righties, whom have hurt him, he's given up a .342 BABIP. That number will inevitably come down and so will his wOBA. Morton is striking out over 10 batters per 9 and doing a fantastic job of limiting the big innings. He faces off with Rays tonight, which is mostly why he's in play. As we know, the Rays strikeout a ton. Against righties, they have posted a 24.8% K rate. Minute Maid Park is a + park for pull righties and a neutral one for everyone else. The Rays have one righty pull hitter in Steven Souza, but he's not a guy you can be scared of. Morton isn't a huge name, but he's pitched well and has one of the top match-ups. The Rays are just 1 of 2 teams with an implied total under 4, so Vegas likes...

We've got you completely covered. Toronto Blue Jays The Blue Jays are an offense you cannot afford to ignore on this early/main slate. They have one of the absolute best match-ups in the league with Jesse Chavez. Chavez is absolutely horrible against both sides of the plate. Against righties, he's found a way to allow a .380 wOBA and 16 homers in less than 60 innings. He's having a hard time with the HR ball and will now move into the Rogers Centre, where the ball flies. The Jays are sitting close to a projected 6 runs and they make sense as a stack in both cash and tournaments. Jose Bautista is the cream of the crop and he should be hitting leadoff. You then get Donaldson and either Morales/Smoak. The rest of the order is pretty similar and you can really go anywhere. Main Stack - Jose Bautista, Justin Smoak, Russell Martin, Josh Donaldson Sneaky Stack - Jose Bautista, Russell Martin, Kendrys Morales, Steve Pearce Texas Rangers Talking about an implied run total over 6, here are the Rangers sitting at 6.14. They face off with Wade Miley in what Vegas expects to be a game of fireworks. The Rangers hit lefties much better and guys like Beltre and Andrus stand out. They have both posted .370+ wOBA's against lefties and have a ton of upside in Globe Life Park. Wade Miley is also one of the absolute worst pitchers in baseball against righties. So far in 2017, he's allowed a .384 wOBA and 16 homers in just 85 innings of work. After Beltre and Andrus, the lineup opens up. Mike Napoli and Delino Deshields make a lot of sense, as well as Lucroy at a weak catcher position. All in al, the Rangers are going to put up some runs and you should probably have some exposure. Main Stack - Adrian Beltre, Delino Deshields, Jonathan Lucroy, Elvis Andrus Sneaky Stack - Adrian Beltre, Mike Napoli, Jonathan Lucroy, Carlos Gomez Try out InGame Fantasy for a totally new DFS experience. We've got you completely covered. Pitchers Jordan Montgomery FD 7500 DK 8000 Opponent - TB (Faria) Park - @NYYFD - 30.22 DK - 19.95 We touched on Drew Pomeranz in the main picks article and he remains a top option. This main slate doesn't have much pitching, so you have to be careful with where you go and what bats will follow you .We're going to take a look Jordan Montgomery against the Rays. Montgomery has been quite good this season, emerging as a weapon for the Yanks. He's striking out about her 7 batters per 9 innings and has been super effective against both sides of the plate. The Rays enter the main slate with an implied total of 3.85, which is the 2nd lowest. Longoria and Souza are obviously dangerous against lefties, but that's really it. The rest of the order is very boring and one I'm constantly looking to pick on. Madison Bumgarner FD 10100 DK 9700 Opponent - LAD (Ryu) Park - @LADFD - 27.98 DK - 19.06 Moving on to this later slate, you have to take a look at Madison Bumgarner, while I wouldn't touch him in a cash game at his price, the appeal is there in tournaments. If Bumgarner is pitching well, there's always a chance of him having a crazy night. He has definitely stumbled a bit as of late, but has remained the same pitcher underneath those struggles. He's held both lefties and righties to a sub .300 wOBA and typically strikes out around 10-11 per 9 innings. The Dodgers are always going to be a tough offense, but they are much better against righties. Nearly everyone in the Dodgers lineup is worse against lefties, with the exception of some platoon bats. The likes of Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger should be greatly minimized here. MadBum is expensive and if you're paying down elsewhere, take a shot on an arm who can change the slate. We've got you completely covered. Pitcher Drew Pomeranz FD 8400 DK 8700 Opponent - KC (Hammel) Park - @BOS FD - 30.42 DK - 20.13 Pitching is plain bad on this main slate. The 2 most expensive options are Justin Verlander vs HOU and Jacob Faria against the Yanks. No thank you. Instead, we'll take a look at Drew Pomeranz. He's around the same price and has a bit more appeal in the match-up. I'm not saying he's safe. There is no such thing on this slate. Pomeranz can always have his command off and it can turn into a bad start. Fortunately, we haven't seen that all too often this season. He has given up some runs, but the blowup games have been few and far between. He's also having one of the unluckiest years I've ever seen against lefties. They've posted a ridiculous .473 BABIP and in turn has led to a .395 wOBA. You can blame Pomeranz for that and you can guarantee that will turn around. He's been great against righties, which has always been the problem. The Royals are an extremely underwhelming team and while they get some more upside in the ballpark, they still can't hit lefties. They rank 21st in the league with a .305 wOBA. Like I said, there is no such thing as safe, you do, however, get a solid arm at a good price in a solid match-up in Drew Pomeranz. Gerrit Cole FD 9000 DK 10900 Opponent - SD (Richard) Park - @SD FD - 36.71 DK - 24.16 The late start slate provides a ton more at pitcher. Bumgarner, Paxton, and Cole make for great plays in all formats at the top. We're going to look at Cole, who has the best match-up and price. Cole has been his usual self this year, dominating righties and struggling against lefties (.355 wOBA). He strikes out 8 per 9 innings and will very rarely get blown up. He should also see an uptick in K's, as the Padres lead the league in striking out against righties at nearly 26%. That's insane. Wil Myers is the only guy I'm scared of in the order and Cole has obliterated righties, so I'm not too worried. While you can get a...

We've got you completely covered. Pitchers Rich Hill FD 9400 DK 12400 Opponent - SF (Blach) Park - @LADFD - 36.73 DK - 23.99 The Dodgers open as the biggest favorite on the entire slate. Facing off with a underwhelming Giants team, Vegas has it slated at -260. Rich Hill and Ty Blach will face off in the battle of lefties. Hill has had a pretty weird season, bouncing from the DL and back a few times. He has settled down and has looked very solid over the last month or so. VERY SOLID. He's back to striking out 12 batters per 9 and dominating hitters from both sides of the plate. The opposing Giants are also nothing to be afraid of. While worse against righties, the Giants have ranked 26th in the league against lefties with a .296 wOBA. Dodgers Stadium is a great pitchers park and I see nothing wrong with Hill. If you need to pay down a little bit and still want a boat load of upside, take a shot with the 12-6 throwing Rich Hill. Zack Greinke FD 10200 DK 12200 Opponent - STL (Leake) Park - @STLFD - 37.57 DK - 24.76 On the late or "main" slate, we'll take a look at Zack Greinke. We touched on Kluber and Nova in the main picks article and they both remain elite options. Greinke and the D-Backs will travel into Busch Stadium to take on the Cardinals, who are all but a scary offense. With Matt Carpenter being the only good lefty in the order, this could be a bloodbath. He's held righties to a .280 wOBA and is striking out over 10 of them per 9 innings. Busch Stadium is also much bigger than Chase Field and he's played half his games there. Greinke is always going to be pretty expensive and while he may not be popular, the safety and upside are there. He's going to go at least 6 or 7 and I'd be chocked to see anything other than a win.
