Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings – 4/13/16
Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/13/16 The end of the NBA basketball season! And, like all last days of the NBA season, it should probably just be canceled for all of the horrific squads we're going to see today. But you know what that means - opportunity for the steady of hand and bold at heart. Let's break down what we should be keeping an eye on tonight. Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight. By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know A lot of teams are sitting a lot of guys. Here's the ones we have confirmed news on so far: The Cleveland Cavaliers They've announced they're going to sit Kyrie, Love, Smith, and LeBron for the concluding game of the season. This almost assuredly means Matthew Dellavedova will be a solid play (he played 31 minutes with Kyrie out last time around, and more than produced on his minimum salary). I'm also very bullish on Channing Frye's chances, assuming he gets the starting gig. I'm a little less excited about Richard Jefferson, who rates to get the lion's share of the hole left by LeBron, but he could still put up big numbers as well. I don't care about Jams Jones. This is one of those crazy situations like we had in OKC last night - This is basically all of the Cavs' usage and 140 minutes a game to redistribute. Anyone who "knows for sure" how this will go is lying to you, but just know that anyone who plays on the Cavs tonight is likely to be a "value" relative to their price. How much a value? A better value than some others? Also kind of impossible to say, because they'll likely be playing against the Pistons' back-ups as well. The last day of the NBA = the wildest of wild Wests. The Los Angeles Clippers They've announced that Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, JJ Redick, and Jamal Crawford will be sitting. So, yeah. That's a lot of minutes and usage to go around. Cole Aldrich was dominant against the Jazz in this exact situation recently, and Austin Rivers was amazing in his own right on 3/31 when he got all the point guard minutes against the Thunder. Pablo...
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 4/13/16
Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/13/16 Wednesday night is bitter=sweet. The schedule brings 14 games but signals the finale of another NBA season. DFS players will have to find something else to do until Saturday (I can recommend a site with great DFS projections and picks for MLB, NHL, and many other sports!). Along with the huge slate comes a tremendous amount of uncertainty. Only half the games have lines posted less than 24 hours before they start. Some teams are still vying for playoff qualification and/or seeding. Other teams are playing out the string. Many stars cleared out their mental lockers games ago. Other players (even entire starting lineups) may be sitting to rest and avoid injury before the playoffs. Just listing all the variables in play would take an entire article. Below are picks to form the nucleus of your Wednesday lineups. You’ll notice a few commonalities. Most are on teams with something still to play for (as of this writing – but even that’s in flux, pending Tuesday night’s results). A few players are from teams that haven’t been playing for anything in a while, but they’re (more) predictable, as there’s little reason to expect significant changes in rotations, usage, or minutes. All are pretty much cash game recommendations. Tournament lineups typically contain many of the same players, but be aware that there will be more punt/flier opportunities than any other night. Of course, many won’t be clear until right before tipoff… Wednesday’s games are essentially separated into two smaller slates. Ten games tip at 8:00ET. Be sure to note this - it's an hour later than usual. The remaining four games tip at 10:30ET. That creates more options for late-night contests, but also presents additional challenges for full-slate participants. The Jazz will know before tip if they’re playing for anything, but we won’t know before lineup lock. More chaos. If ever there were a day to follow breaking news, Wednesday is it. Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/12/16 Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it! What We Know OKC is sitting everybody that is good So what's it mean? A bad match-up, but TONS of opportunity for Kanter, Foye, Morrow, Payne, and Waiters. Every single one of them paid value, and it makes sense. They are free, and we're freeing up like 110 minutes per game here. Kanter had an absurd 33/20 line and was the play of the night against Portland, and I assume that will be the case here as well. Paul George is playing Not exactly huge news, but this obviously eliminates guys like CJ Miles from consideration. As for George, I am still not sure the Pacers are hell-bent on trying for the 7th seed, so I'd deploy him very cautiously. What We're Waiting to Know Carmelo Anthony - in or out? This would be huge for the Knicks because it would free up not only Melo's minutes, but his shots as well. Melo only played 26 minutes in his last game, but his absence would mean great things for Derrick Williams in particular - a good play that would become great. Will Tony Allen suit up? He sat against Golden State, and that meant big minutes for both Lance Stephenson and Vince Carter. Lance was awful, but Vince was terrific. Neither is anything more than a speculative play for me today. The "Every Lineup" Guys Enes Kanter - FD 5600 DK 5400 Opponent - SAS FD Proj. Pts - 34.05 DK Proj. Pts - 34.98 Dion Waiters - FD 3900 DK 3600 Opponent - SAS FD Proj. Pts - 24.32 DK Proj. Pts - 25.72 This one is easy. Last time the Thunder sat their big three Mr. Kanter drew the start and was basically a one-man wrecking crew. He piled on the points with a 33/20 line and I suspect he's the most popular play on the day today. He's not a punt play necessarily, but that doesn't matter on this slate. Kanter...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/12/16 The late season NBA is making me actually tear my hair out. What's left of it, anyway. I'm going to look like Doug soon 🙁 I've been listening to this piano piece from DFSR user Jared Reynolds on repeat to try and calm my nerves. But you do your thing. So, where to begin? There's not a team playing today that is playing for anything. So we have that going for us, which is nice. It should be just about the least certain day ever, making these picks somewhat of an exercise in futility. You absolutely have to follow up with the updates article (which will be posted around noon EST at the latest), and of course, we'll be updating our projection system as news rolls in throughout the day. That being said, let's try and tackle the beast. Now’s your chance to get a free trial of DFSR Pro with NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, and Player Cards! Pts - 34.3 DK Proj. Pts - 35.21 Prepared for the first shocker of the night? I'm playing 76ers today! In a terrible match-up with the Raptors! The reasoning is pretty straightofrward, actually. It's a small slate, and the only certainty is uncertainty. The Sixers, meanwhile, have been mathematically eliminated since December, and we can have a pretty good sense of what they intend to do right now. What's that? Their best. Ish played 39 minutes (albeit in overtime) against the Bucks, and now has back to back 41+ fantasy point games. He's attacking the rim again, and I suspect we'll see more of the same now that Cleveland has locked up the 1 seed and he should be playing against a fair amount of B-teamers here. I like him in any format. Russell Westbrook - FD 10400 DK 10100 Opponent - SAS FD Proj. Pts - 45.73 DK Proj. Pts - 47.3 So this comes with a huge caveat - I expect the Thunder to rest on of their big two tonight, and if that happens to be KD, then I love Westbrook. The Spurs have nothing left to play for, and while the Thunder don't either, the Spurs seem a lot more likely to go totally weird in this game....

The only fairly clear one to me is that Aaron Gordon and Victor Oladipo are really, really unlikely to play today. Both are dealing with concussion issues, and even Scott Skiles ought to be smart enough to preserve the actual brains of his two building block players. As for what will happen if they do both miss again, it's a bit of a mystery. The Magic got blown out by the Heat on Sunday, and minutes were all over the place. The way it looked like things were trending before things got out of hand, I'd guess Fournier, Vucevic, and Hezonja will all be solid DFS plays in their absence tonight. Do I trust it? No. No, I don't. But I wouldn't be shocked if winning tournament lineups had one of those guys in it. Derrick Rose and E'Twaun Moore are shut down, leaving plenty of room for Justin Holiday With Rose and Moore shelved for the season and Butler almost certainly in line for some kind of reprieve, Holiday is one of the last men standing in Chicago. Paying today's prices should be rather trivial to the heir apparent to all the guard minutes, but there's some risk if Aaron Brooks gets hot or plays a bigger role than we anticipate. Pau is out, and I'm confused, but I like Nikola Mirotic Full disclosure - this one might not be for the faint of heart. The Bulls are going to be short something like 90 minutes (Rose, Moore, Gasol), and we don't really have precedent for this. The nice thing is that they're playing against another D-League squad in New Orleans, so once we hear who's starting we should at least be mildly out of the woods. I like Mirotic best because of the track record, but I could definitely see Cristiano Felicio and Bobby Portis putting up big games as well. Rondo, Collison, and Belinelli are out Uh....
