Arnold Palmer Invitational This second week of the Florida swing takes the PGA Tour to Bay Hill and Lodge in Orlando for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. While last week's field was on the weaker side with the new Florida schedule, the Arnold Palmer Invitational is always loaded and has three of Top 5, six of the Top 10, and 32 of the Top 50 players in the World. The highlight of the field is Tiger Woods who is making his 18th appearance at Bay Hill, winning it a whopping eight times including a stretch of four in a row from 2000 to 2003. Bay Hill is a 7,419 yard, Par 72 course that plays a bit longer as it is very demanding off the tee. There water in play on close to half the holes and where there is no water, there are very strategically placed bunkers in the key landing areas. This type of challenge will have most of the field using a "less than driver" strategy off the tee on a ton of holes as there is a premium on hitting the fairways. That combined with five of the Par 4's falling between 450 and 500 yards and all four Par 3's sitting at 199+ yards will have the field taking a ton of approach shots from 200+ making it a key area to target when looking at Strokes Gained: Approach. Even with a winning score that consistently reaches the high teens, I will be looking at Bogey Avoidance in my model with all the hazards in play this week and with that low scoring will also be looking at Birdie or Better %. When breaking down Par 4 scoring, I will be looking at the 450 to 500 yard range and will also be weighing Par 5 Scoring with an average of 48% of all birdies coming on those four holes(last...

The Honda Classic After a pit stop in Mexico for the second World Golf Championship fo the season, the PGA Tour will begin the four-event Florida swing in Palm Beach Gardens with The Honda Classic. With the event being moved and sandwiched between the WGC Mexico and Arnold Palmer Invitational the field is not quite as strong overall this time around but is still strong at the top with three of the World's Top 10 players(Justin Thomas #3, Brooks Koepka #4, Rickie Fowler #9) teeing it up this week. The PGA National Champions course is consistently ranked among the Tour's toughest non-major tests and it shows with a winning score that has come in the single digits in five of the last six years. A lot of that higher scoring can be attributed to the wind factor but the good news for this year is that early forecasts are showing wind speeds under 10 mph throughout the event so we could see some lower scoring. That is if the players can avoid the water that is pretty much everywhere at PGA National(in play on 14 of 18 holes). I will be looking heavily at Strokes Gained: Ball Striking this week and with the likelihood we some "less than driver" strategies off the tee I will also be weighted more towards the approach side with long irons being very important with five of the 12 Par 4's over 450 yards. The balance on Bogey Avoidance and Birdie or Better % will be finalized as we see the weather forecast closer to lineup lock but as of now, I am leaning BoB% with the low wind projected. Let's now jump in and look at some course info, trends, and then get into the picks. Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – WGC Mexico Championship
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – WGC Mexico Championship Chris will be bringing you weekly PGA picks, analysis, and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings and FanDuel. WGC Mexico Championship This week the PGA Tour travels South of the border for the 2019 WGC Mexico Championship from the Club De Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City. This is no-cut event with a limited field of just 71 golfers(Adrian Otaegui was added to make the field 72) but is a loaded field as always and has nine of the Top 10 and 46 of the Top 50 golfers in the World. This will be the third year for the Mexico Championship since taking over the WGC spot so we have limited course history leading to a lower weight in my overall model this week. It will be much important to focus on players who have been playing well lately and fit the stats model. The course is another Par 71 that stretches out 7,300 yards so I will be once again looking for not just bombers but those who are overall good off the tee. Why? The fairways are tree-lined and smaller than average and reading the quote(via Future of Fantasy Golfanac) from Phil Mickelson below it will be important to hit the right spots(even in the rough) to have access to the larger than average greens. As always, Strokes Gained: Approach will be high in the model when looking at Ball Striking and this week I will be focusing on Proximity with the larger than average greens. I will also be looking at a mix of Par 4 and Par 5 Scoring as both have proved to be important through the first two years of this event(Par 5 scoring in 2017 and par 4 scoring in 2018). To check out the full field stats for these events, check out Fantasy National Golf Club and go search bar and search Mexico Championship. As you can see below, the winning score has been in the mid-teens and looking at the leaderboards from the two-year sample we have, it...

Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – Genesis Open Chris will be bringing you weekly PGA picks, analysis, and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings and FanDuel. Genesis Open This week the PGA Tour heads to Pacific Palisades, California and Riviera Country Club for the 2019 Genesis Open. It's a course and event that always draws a strong field and the same can be said this time around as six of the Top 10 and 29 of the Top 50 players in the world are teeing it up this week. The course is a Par 71 setup that is on the longer side of things at 7,322 yards. As you can see below in the course breakdown, the biggest test for players are the Par 4's and especially the six of them that are between 450 and 500 yards. The fairways are some of the hardest to hit on tour(54% average courtesy of Future of Fantasy Golfanac) and which gives some advantage to the longer hitters as they will be using smaller clubs on their approach shots creating an easier path to a higher ball flight to hit and stick on these smaller than average, fast greens. Not that shorter hitters can't have success here but they have to be very precise with their long irons. While it is one of the tougher events on Tour, the average winning score over the last five years has been -13(high of -17, low of -6) so Birdie or Better % will also be factored into the equation. With all that said, let's take a peek at the course, previous winners, top stats, and then jump into the picks. Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Chris will be bringing you weekly PGA picks, analysis, and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings and FanDuel. AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am This week the PGA Tour heads to Pebble Beach for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Similar to the Desert Classic a few weeks back, each player will be paired with an amateur partner for the first three days and play one round on each of the three courses in the rotation. With the cut(Top 60 & ties) coming after the third round on Saturday, there will be a higher number of entries that will get 6/6 through to Sunday or at least have a big enough gap built up where the one extra day wouldn't be enough to catch the cash line. This means we should bake in a little more upside in our models this week. The field is similar to last year in that there are 18 of the Top 50 players in the World teeing it up but the difference this year is that there are only two of the Top 10(Dustin Johnson & Tony Finau). I honestly thought the field would be a bit stronger this year as Pebble Beach Golf Links will play host to the 2019 US Open in June. The field does include veteran Phil Mickelson who returns for the 23rd time and is looking for his fifth career win here and he comes in with fantasy form leading all players in the field in fantasy scoring over their last five events. With three different courses being used, I will be keeping my model quite simple this week with heavy weight on Par 4 Scoring, Birdie or Better % and Strokes gained: Approach. When breaking down SG: Approach, I will be looking closely at Proximity from 125-150 yards with all three courses coming in the sub-7,000-yard range. With the course being set up for the US Open in June where the plan is to narrow the fairways and lengthen the rough,...
