Daytona 500 The long offseason came to an end last week as the NASCAR haulers rolled into Daytona Beach last week. It all got started with the wreck-fest that was the Busch Clash last Sunday and that was also preceded by Daytona 500 qualifying which set the front row for the big race. The track was then quiet for a few days(for Cup cars) before last night's Duel Qualifying races which set the rest of the field for Sunday's race. Before getting into the picks, let's break down the track and some strategies we can use for daily fantasy. First of all, Daytona International Speedway is a 2.5-mile Superspeedway with 31 degrees of banking in the corners. The track produces some of the fastest speeds in NASCAR which is why engines are equipped with a tapered spaced(formerly a restrictor plate) and a larger rear spoiler to help keep the cars from taking off like an airplane. This style of racing also leads to large packs of cars drafting off each other which in turn leads to some different strategies we don't see on non-superspeedway tracks. Team and manufacturer alliances really come into play here and that has already been huge as we saw Denny Hamlin push Erik Jones to victory in the Clash, then we saw Aric Almirola push Joey Logano to victory in Duel #1 and a Chevy vs. Ford battle in Duel #2 with William Byron coming out on top. For fantasy, this means stacking in our lineups to possibly capitalize on a strong run from one team or manufacturer. You aren't just going to blindly stack any team, however, as other strategies come into play as well and...

Ford Ecoboost 400 The 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Champion will be crowned this week as the series head to Homestead Miami for the Ford Eco Boost 400 on Sunday. Martin Truex Jr, Kevin Harvick, and Denny Hamlin locked up their spots with wins in the last round forcing Kyle Busch to use all of those playoff points he earned as the regular season champ to advance to the finale. Points are now reset and it comes down to one race where the top driver of the four will take home the hardware. This also marks the final time Homestead will be used as the Championship race as the 2020 schedule overhaul has that finale moving to ISM Raceway. Experience is the name of the game this week and all four drivers check the box making up four of the last six winners at the track. Martin Truex Jr(2017), Kyle Busch(2015), and Kevin Harvick's(2014) wins earned them their first championships with Hamlin coming close in 2010 finishing runner-up to Jimmie Johnson. To cap it off, they all have at least 26 career wins and 167 between them. Get ready for another thrilling race. Homestead is a mile and half track that is always worked out well as the Championship race as there are multiple lanes to run but don't get fooled as track position and qualifying are huge this week. The correlation from starting to finish position has been over .650 in two straight and four of the last six races here with the winner coming from a Top 5 starting position in five of those six races. I will also be looking to target two dominators in this race with one driver leading 100+ in four of the last six and at least two drivers(3 in 2014) leading 50+ laps in each of the last six races here at Homestead. Let's jump in and take a look at some track history, track type history, playoff form, and then dive into core plays....

First time with MLB? Be sure to read our free MLB Ebooks on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered. Bluegreen Vacations 500 The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to ISM Raceway this Sunday for the final elimination race of the season as four drivers will race for the Championship next week at Homestead. With wins in the previous two races in this round, Kevin Harvick(texas) and Martin Truex Jr.(Martinsville) have already locked up their spot at Homestead leaving just two spots for the other six drivers. Kyle Busch(+22) and Joey Logano(+20) are in the best positions to advance but, by no means, are safe will need solid races to hold off Denny Hamlin(-20), Ryan Blaney(-23), and Kyle Larson(-23). The only driving needing a win to advance is Chase Elliott who is 78 points behind. ISM Raceway(formerly Phoenix International Raceway) is a one-mile flat track that not only got a new name to start the 2018 season but also seen a reconfiguration. The start/finish was moved from the backstretch to the old turn 2 right at the start of the dogleg which creates some crazy restarts. This will be the fourth race with the new setup. Let's jump in and take a look at some track and track-type history, playoff form, and then dive into the core picks. Track Info ISM Raceway - Phoenix, AZ Track - 1 Mile Tri Oval 8-9° of Banking in Turns 1 & 2 10-11° of Banking in Turn 3 & 4 Last Six Winners at ISM Raceway 2019(1) - Kyle Busch(started 4th) 2018(2) - Kyle Busch(started 6th) 2018(1) - Kevin Harvick(started 10th) 2017(2) - Matt Kenseth(started 7th) 2017(1) - Ryan Newman(started 22nd) 2016(2) - Joey Logano(started 4th) Track History at ISM Raceway Since the reconfiguration of ISM Raceway, no driver has been nearly as dominant as Kyle Busch who has finished 1st, 1st, 2nd in the three races. He has also led 100 or more laps in each of those races and is averaging a ridiculous 110.1 DK/88 FD points per race. Kevin Harvick won the 2018 Spring race and is one of just three drivers...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview & Picks for DraftKings – AAA Texas 500

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview & Picks for DraftKings - AAA Texas 500 Chris Durell will be bringing you his weekly race breakdown, top trends, and pre-qualifying targets to help you cash on DraftKings and FanDuel. You can also grab a copy of his free DFS NASCAR Cheatsheet that includes a ton of stats and a customizable model. First time with MLB? Be sure to read our free MLB Ebooks on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered. AAA Texas 500 Martin Truex Jr. stayed red-hot in the Playoffs as he dominated(464 laps led) at Martinsville last weekend punching his ticket to Homestead with a shot at a second championship. This takes all the pressure off over the last two races in this round starting with a return trip to Texas this weekend for the AAA Texas 500. Outside Truex, no driver is safe with Denny Hamlin(+24), Kyle Busch(+17), and Joey Logano(+14) sitting on the plus side of the cutline with Kevin Harvick(-14), Ryan Blaney(-15), Kyle Larson(-24), and Chase Elliott(-44) with some ground to make up in the final two races. This is not only the second trip to Texas in 2019 but also the sixth race here since the re-design that started in early 2017. Turns 1 & 2 were reduced from 24 to 20 degrees of banking and widened from 60 to 80 feet making both ends of the track unique and making the job of the crew chief a little more challenging. As with all intermediate tracks, dominator points will be big with multiple drivers leading 50+ laps in each of the last six races here and one driver leading 100+ in five of the last six. Looking at those drivers who led 100 or more laps(5), two of them ended up winning and another two ended up second in those races. Let's now look at some track history, track type history, current form and then dig into the picks. Texas Motor Speedway - Fort Worth, TX Track - 1.5 Mile Quad-Oval Intermediate 20° of Banking in Turns 1 & 2 24° of Banking in Turn 3 & 4 Last Six Winners at Texas 2019(1) - Denny Hamlin(started 6th) 2018(2) - Kevin Harvick(started 3rd) 2018(1) - Kyle Busch(started 8th) 2017(2) - Kevin Harvick(started 3rd) 2017(1) - Jimmie Johnson(started 24th) 2016(2) - Carl Edwards(started 9th) Track History at Texas  I mentioned above that Texas re-configured the track back in 2017 so I am going to have a closer look...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Race Preview & Picks for DraftKings – First Data 500

First time with MLB? Be sure to read our free MLB Ebooks on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered. First Data 500 The Playoffs are winding down as the Monster Energy Cup Series head to Martinsville Speedway to begin the Round of 8. Eight drivers remain in the running for the Championship Trophy with Kyle Busch still on top of the standings with the Playoff points he earned during the regular season but that gap has shrunk as teammates Martin Truex Jr.(-4) and Denny Hamlin(-9) sit 2nd and 3rd right behind him. Rounding out the Top 8 drivers in standings are Joey Logano(-16), Kevin Harvick(-18), Chase Elliott(-22), Kyle Larson(-35), and Ryan Blaney(-37). From a fantasy perspective, this race is 500 laps in length putting dominator points right at the top of my wish list this week. Brad Keselowski absolutely dominated here in the Spring leading 446 of the 500 laps but there have been two or more drivers to lead 100+ laps in the previous five races. As it always is, place differential value is hard to judge before qualifying and this week we have another wrench thrown in as qualifying will be Saturday afternoon but the lineup will not be official until after inspection on Sunday morning. Stay tuned as my cheatsheet will be updated following that inspection. Let's take a look at the track and then some core plays for DraftKings and FanDuel. Martinsville Speedway - Martinsville, VA Track - .526 Mile Oval Short Track 12° of Banking Last Six Winners at Martinsville 2019(1) - Brad Keselowski(started 3rd) 2018(2) - Joey Logano(started 10th) 2018(1) - Clint Bowyer(started 9th) 2017(2) - Kyle Busch(started 14th) 2017(1) - Brad Keselowski(started 4th) 2016(2) - Jimmie Johnson(started 3rd) Track History at Martinsville Brad Keselowski returns to Martinsville after dominating the Spring race leading 446 laps. It was his second career win at the track and he has also picked up a Top 10 in nine straight and 12 of his last 15 trips to the track. No driver has been as consistent as Kyle Busch at the paperclip as he returns with Top 5's in...
