Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/6/15
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/6/15 Happy continued weekend! Hope your Labor Day is filled with meat, drinks, family, and checking your phone constantly while absentmindedly giving verbal clues to feign interest in whatever they are talking about that doesn't have to do with sports. Me? I'll be DFSing this thing. Let's get to it. By the way - like all Sundays, this is a huge slate. I'll never be able to give you all of the acceptable plays you might be able to trot out there in various formats today. I'll give you the guys I like best, but our projection system has a lot more answers than I do. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Dallas Keuchel - FD 11200 DK 12500 Victiv Opponent- Min (Duffey) R Park- @Hou I've been sitting here for 30 minutes trying to figure out who to give as the headlining play today, and it's sort of been torture. In the interest of full disclosure, our system likes Johnny Cueto better than Keuchel among the top tier guys. I happen to think it's a little bearish on Keuchel, and it likes Cueto a little too much based on last year's strike-out percentage. Keuchel's got the third best xFIP in the majors, and while he also isn't an first tier K guy, he generates ground-balls at the second highest rate in the major leagues. In practice, this leads to very few terrible games for him, and quite a few terrific ones where he pitches deep in games on low pitch counts. There's nothing great about this match-up with the Twins - they're basically league average against left handed pitching, and fairly tough to strike out. This a bit of faith in Keuchel - here's to hoping it's well placed. Gerrit Cole - FD 9400 DK 11000 Victiv Opponent- STL (Lackey) R Park- @StL Ugh, we're left with a lack of fantastic options at every price point tonight, it seems. Cole has had some real stinkers recently, but in the absence of injury news, we have to trust that it's just baseball being baseball, and little else. So that means that instead of being scared, we should view this as a buying opportunity. You're convinced, right? Me too? Okay, let's give some context. First of all, Cole really has been excellent this season. His 3.15 xFIP is 11th best in the majors, he's in the top...
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 9/5/15
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 9/5/15 Well, well, well. It's a massive double-slate Saturday, which means an incredible amount of plays for us to choose from. I'll do my best to give you a couple of plays per position for each slate, but there's no way I'll be able to tackle every single guy that would be a good play today. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Early Slate Jake Arrieta - FD 11700 DK 13500 Victiv Opponent- Ari (Ray) L Park- @Chc For such a big day, there's precious little really safe pitching today. At least from our projection system's perspective. For the early slate, though, Arrieta is as close as it gets. First of all, Arrieta should need no introduction at this point. He's got a 2.74 xFIP over the last two seasons, which is good for the four best in the major leagues. He strikes out better than a guy an inning, and is a ground-ball machine. All good stuff. His match-up with the Diamondbacks is sort of a mixed blessing. One on hand, they've struck out at the 11th highest rate in the majors against right handed pitching this season. On the other, hand, they also have the 11th highest wOBA against righties. I'd say they're a net positive match-up when they're away from home, as is the case here. Arrieta is also facing off against Robbie Ray, a below league average pitcher with a 4.15 xFIP on the season. Arrieta's also been crushing recently - scoring an average of 20 FanDuel fantasy points per game in his last 3 starts. Love him for cash games, even at these prices. Jaime Garcia - FD 9000 DK 9600 Victiv Opponent- Pit (Morton) R Park- @Stl If you want to stick your neck out a little bit, consider Jaime Garcia. He's sort of a poor man's Arrieta. He doesn't have the same K rate for sure, but his extreme ground-ball tendencies really raise his floor. Oddly, the Pirates are almost exactly the same against lefties that the D-Backs are against righties - they have the 12th highest K rate, and the 13th highest wOBA. Morton is very stinker prone, and it's a good spot for Jaime to grab a W. Still, Garcia is also somewhat blow-up prone as well. I like this play if you're trying to go against the grain in the early slate. Late Slate Felix Hernandez...
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 9/3/15
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 9/3/15 Oooooh, a juicy little short slate today. Some people are scared of short slates. "Where are all the options?" they say. "There aren't good enough players!" they say. Hogwash. We don't need great plays in a vacuum to crush a short slate - we just need plays better than the competition. In a lot of ways, that makes short slates some of the very most profitable. Even still - we'll never be able to give you every single play on even a short slate like this. If you want the rest of our top plays? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Jordan Zimmermann - FD 9300 DK 10400 Victiv Opponent- Atl (Wisler) R Park- @Was Well, it's a pretty short slate. Have I mentioned that? I waffled back and forth between Zimmermann and Liriano for the top slot here, and so I'll cop out on you a little bit. I like Liriano in terms of raw point-total upside, but actually prefer Zimmermann for safety. A few reasons. The first is price. On short slates, it's a heck of a lot tougher to find really good value at every price point. To that end, Zimmermann's relatively low price means greater flexibility for your other positions. The other big thing in play here is the match-up. The Braves don't strike out a ton, but they still have the third lowest wOBA in the majors against right handed pitching. And, frankly, Liriano has kinda sucked recently. For my cash game purposes, I'll be looking at the big Zimm. Mat Latos - FD 6200 DK 7300 Victiv Opponent- SD (Rea) R Park- @SD Oh, baby. We're this far off board and it's only the second player recommended. So, in case it isn't obvious, Latos is probably not a guy I'd dive right in and start in a 50/50. But I mean, there is kind of a lot to like here. First of all, Latos himself has been better than his ERA suggests. His 3.71 xFIP is above league average, and his K% is approaching his 2013 levels. And then there's the match-up. This one is truly a dream - the Padres themselves have the 8th highest K% in the majors, and the 4th lowest wOBA against right handed pitching. That takes into account their whole track record - they're even worse at home. He's also up against Colin Rea, who just isn't a major...

Quarterback Marquise Williams If you want to spend up Williams is the guy I would target. Considering his duel threat capabilities and North Carolina's ability to score he has what he needs to open the season on a high note. Williams was a little erratic last season. Over the last four weeks Williams had a high of 47 fantasy points and a low of 4 and no, he didn’t get hurt during that 4pt performance. Considering his tag I would prefer a bit more consistency, but regardless this game has the right ingredients to buy some Marquise shares. Williams is a dark horse Heisman candidate and has the ability to light teams up through the air or on the ground. With a plethora of receivers the Gamecocks may have difficulty covering the entire field. If SC is able to cover the wide outs it will undoubtedly leave Williams space up the middle to gash them with his feet. Vegas says this will be a high scoring tightly contested matchup and if that holds true Williams could be the QB play of the night. On Fanduel it's really hard to get away from a 5100 Sirk, but on DK where you need two QB's it’s a whole different story and I will look to have Williams on a few of my rosters. Thomas Sirk Sirk is currently listed as the Blue Devils starter replacing All-ACC signal caller, Anthony Boone. The Dukies may take a step back this year with the loss of Boone and Crowder, but that doesn’t mean we still can't find value scattered throughout their roster. I bring you Sirk. At 6'5" 220lbs he's a big physical athlete who isn't afraid to get his nose dirty as evidenced by his 8 rushing touchdowns on just 47 carries. I could tell you that Sirk has a career completion percentage of 71% and it would be true, but with only 14 passing attempts I won't try to sell you on...
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 8/31/15
Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv 8/31/15 Ahhh, Monday. One of the oddest days of the daily fantasy baseball week due to the number of teams who get a day off. Still, though, there's a lot of money to be made on these smaller slates. The reason? Fewer guys to choose from means choosing the wrong players is a bigger mistake than it is on a deeper night. Even still, though, there's no way we could do a write-up for every single player, even on a short slate. If you want all of our projections? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Victiv. Pitchers The big boys - should you play one? A lot of people will grab Archer, Keuchel, or Price for their 50/50s today. I'll be cautious. Our projection system doesn't like any of them on a points per dollar basis in an absolute sense, but if it were forced to pick one, it would go with Dallas Keuchel. He's got a fantastic ground ball rate, a nice K rate, and a solid match-up with the Mariners (the owners of the 8th worst K% against left handed pitching in the majors). Still, it feels like a lot to pay, and on a short slate, it might be tough to get the money in good hitter-wise if you play him. Tyson Ross - FD 8900 DK 9700 Victiv Opponent- Tex (Lewis) R Park- @Sd Stuff starts getting weird early. Ross is a tough guy to root for because of his absurd walk-rate. His 4.10 BB/9 is the worst in the majors among qualified pitchers. But the crazy thing? As you go down the BB/9 wall of shame, you have to get down to Jake Arrieta at 2.22 BB/9 before you guy who can outpace Ross' 3.13 xFIP. Even with his unorthodox approach, Ross has put together the 13th best xFIP in the major leagues. It all comes down to two things: his great K rate, and his absurd ground ball percentage. His 62.5% GB% is 3rd in the majors (just .1% behind Dallas Keuchel). That's pretty damned good. But again, Ross has warts. What it means for your purposes is that Ross often makes a great 50/50 play. He can erase walks with double-plays, and wiggle out of jams by striking people out. But it also means he doesn't pitch deep into a lot of games, limiting his upside. As for the match-up, the Rangers have a nice wOBA against righties this season, but they actually dip to...
