John Deere Classic Welcome back for another week in daily fantasy golf. This week the PGA Tour travels to the TPC Deere Run for the 2017 John Deere Classic. Right off the top we have one of the weakest fields of the year as most of the big names have traveled to the Scottish Open in preparation for the Open Championship next week. That leaves us with just one player who sits inside the Top 20 in the Official World Golf Rankings(Daniel Berger-20th) and just seven of the Top 50 players. This doesn't mean it's a bad week for DFS, especially considering the tournaments on DraftKings are far more inviting than those of the Scottish Open despite the difference in field strength. The TPC Deere Run course is always set up to favor scoring as it consistently ranks as one of the easiest courses on Tour with an average winning score of -21 over the past five years. Looking over the course, driving distance is much less of a factor this week with emphasis on placement of the drives to get a clean look at the large greens. This has me looking closely at Strokes Gained Off the Tee and Driving Accuracy. Then I will be looking even closer at Strokes Gained Approach as this is where the tournament will be won and lost. It will be important to not only get it on the greens but to get it close to the pin(Proximity) for better chances at birdies in this WEB.com Tour scoring fest. Par 4 and 5 scoring are factored with Par 4 slightly ahead as right around 50% of the total birdies for each of the last three JD Classic's have come from the Par 4 holes. Even though there are only three Par 5's, scoring on them will be important to keep up with the field as at...

The Greenbrier Classic Welcome back for another week of daily fantasy golf and a huge Happy July 4th to all my friends and followers in the United States of America. This week the PGA Tour heads to West Virginia for the Greenbrier Classic. The tournament was canceled in 2016 after flooding destroyed the Old White TPC. It was completely overhauled during the last calendar year and reports are it is looking as beautiful as ever. Looking at the course overview on PGATour.com, the fairways are lined with trees but appear to be very generous and should see somewhere around a 70% average in greens hit for the week. This is going to allow us to weigh driving distance a little higher this week but I will still be concentrating on Strokes Gained Approach for my top stat. I will also be looking closely at the Future of Fantasy's Golfanac to pick out some players who perform well on Par 70 courses and Bentgrass Greens. Let's quickly take a look at the course stats, past winners & scores, and my top stats and then jump into the picks for the week. The Course The Old White TPC - White sulfur springs, WV Par 70 - 7,287 Yards Greens - Bentgrass **Click to Enlarge** Past Five Winners 2016 - Cancelled Event 2015 - Danny Lee (-13) 2014 - Angel Cabrera (-16) 2013 - Jonas Blixt (-13) 2012 - Ted Potter Jr. (-16) The Stats & Fantasy Approach My Key Stats: Strokes Gained Approach Strokes Gained Off the Tee/Driving Distance Par 4 Scoring Birdie or Better % Top Current Form Targets David Lingmerth World Golf Ranking (#93) Vegas Odds (20/1) Draftkings ($10,000) FanDuel ($7,600) Looking at the five tourney average finish, there is no one hotter in the field than Lingmerth. He is coming off a T5 at TPC Potomac and has not finished...
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel – Travelers Championship

Travelers Championship After some record-breaking scores were posted at the U.S. Open, most players will be looking ahead to the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in just four weeks. That, however, doesn't leave us with a weak field this week as the Tour heads to TPC River Highlands for the Travelers Championship. Three of the world's Top 10 golfers(Mcilroy #3, Day #4, Spieth #6) and 15 of the Top 50 are in action this week. The course is also a complete 180 degree flip from last week as TPC River Highlands is close to 1,000 yards shorter in length and is a Par 70 setup with just two Par 5's and 12 Par 4 holes. While we seen just a couple trees at Erin Hills, the fairways are lined with them this week with "normal" PGA Tour bunkers protecting landing spots and the greens. Water comes into play on the 13th hole as it lines the right-hand side and also holes 15, 16, and 17 surround a big lake. Over the years we have seen players go about attacking the course in different ways which doesn't limit our field to distance or accuracy. Bubba Watson in his two wins crushed the field off the tee and was just average or slightly better in other areas. Russell Knox, last season, used his accuracy and putting to take home the hardware. The biggest I am looking at this week as you will see below in my top stats is Strokes Gained: Off the Tee + Approach and Par 4 Scoring. For cash games, I will be looking closely at the sub $10K range to build my core and then stay more with a balanced approach. For tournaments, I will be looking to build around a core the same core for the most part but also using some contrarian plays that could be lower owned...
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel – 117th U.S. Open
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel - 117th U.S. Open DFSR is proud to bring you, Chris Durell. This year the event will be held at Erin Hills for the first time in the course's history(Opened in 2006). It is a minimalist designed course that uses the rolling prairie, fescue, and natural sand to create a unique challenge for the golfers. It is somewhat a links course in that it has very few trees on site and the scoring is very dependant on the wind as it is the #1 defense system. From the tee box, golfers are going to like the very wide fairways here but many of the tee shots are going to present a challenge being blind and protected by the natural and near impossible bunkers. Spray the ball too far offline and golfers are going to have to deal with fescue that, in certain spots, will be 3-4 feet high making it an extreme challenge just to get the ball back in play. While Kevin Na was maybe a little over dramatic about the playing conditions, it was still pretty entertaining. Check it out. Whether you agree with Na or not, that heavy fescue is going to make or break a lot of players chances of hoisting the trophy this week. To be perfectly honest, I don't think that the fescue is even close to the biggest challenge this week if you can believe it. The bunkers are going to test even the best sand players as it will be almost impossible to find a flat lie or stance in these natural hazards. Then, as I mentioned above, golfers will have to deal with the wind which could easily sway the winning score by 5+ shots. Currently, the forecast is showing 7-10 mph winds with gusts of 10-20 at times. I will be monitoring closely and...

FedEx St. Jude Classic Welcome back for another week of daily fantasy golf. It was Jason Dufner taking home the trophy last week at the Memorial with a winning score of -13. How did he do it? He led the field in Strokes Gained Approach(2.67) and in Strokes Gained Tee to Green(4.14). In fact, if he could have putt at all(-.095 SG: Putt) he would have won by a lot more as no other golfer gained over three strokes to the field in SG:T2G. Either way, it was awesome to see that huge fist pump and celebration. Miss the final round? Check out the highlights below. This week the PGA Tour travels to Memphis, Tennessee for the FedEx St. Jude Classic. It has been hosted by it's current venue, TPC Southwind, since 1989 so we have a ton of course history to look at(My cheatsheet only looks at last 5 years). The course is a Par 70 with just two Par 5's, Four Par 3's, and 12 Par 4's. The Par 5 third hole is reachable in two but presents golfers with a challenge if they elect to go for it as there is water to the right and sand to the left of the small green. The Par 5 16th hole is a dogleg left that has produced almost double the Eagles and around 50 more birdies per year over the past three years.
