Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/22/16 Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it! Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight. By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know Brook Lopez is back Just a one game absence, and this kills Willie Reed and Thomas Robinson's value. I do like him quite a bit against the Hornets tonight, but am not sure that price point will fit into optimal lineups given the limited options of a short slate. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson returns from injury!! Right, it's a short slate. But really! This is news! Hollis-Jefferson will cut directly into Wayne Ellington's minutes, and could take some minutes from Bojan Bogdanovic as well. I don't expect him to play huge minutes tonight fresh off of returning from a fractured foot, but I'll be watching his minutes closely to see how it knocks other dominoes in the Nets' rotation. I still like Bojan today, but am cautious on other Nets. Larry Nance Jr. is out The last time he sat, Julius Randle played 31 minutes. He could play more than that tonight, and it's a reasonable match-up with Memphis' now not too tough front court. We've adjusted the projections up accordingly. UPDATE: With Marvin Williams out I think Frank Kaminsky is a near must start running with the Varsity.   What We're Waiting to Know James Harden is listed as a game time decision And if he misses this one, that obviously topples some huge dominoes in the Houston/OKC game. It introduces blowout risk into the game, and it also opens up a TON of shots for everyone else. It would mean a lot for Patrick Beverley and Jason Terry in particular, who would have the ball in there hands a lot more. Watch this one closely. Marvin Williams's status Marvin Williams limped off the court in last night's game with the Spurs, and is listed as questionable for tonight's tilt with the Nets. He said that he "should be able to play" last night, but in a game that the Hornets should be able to win without him, I'll be watching this one...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/22/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/22/16 After a wild weekend and an equally crazy Monday, I'm ready to settle in to a nice little short slate. It feels like forever since I wrote up a short slate, so now seems like as good a time as any to point out that we here at DFSR believe very strongly that, often times, the biggest edges come on the shortest of slates. Choosing the wrong play becomes magnified, and it's a lot harder to luck into a winning lineup. Tonight's slate happily features some awful defenses that we should be able to exploit, so let's dig in. Now’s your chance to get DFSR Pro with NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. Or try a free trial of our base package with projections for every player. While the seasons overlap, you'll get access to our tools for the NBA and NHL (and MLB when the time comes)! A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day (except Sunday) in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! POINT GUARD Russell Westbrook - FD 10600 DK 10600 Opponent - HOU FD Proj. Pts - 54.44 DK Proj. Pts - 56.26 A lot of people believe that getting the value plays right is the key on a night to night basis, but missing on your big guys (especially on a short slate) is far more damaging. It's fairly obvious, I guess - you're investing $10k on a guy instead of $4k - but tonight's slate really highlights it. Westbrook has a phenomenal projection against the Rockets tonight for a handful of reasons. The obvious, of course - he's been a triple-double machine, and has shown 15 rebound and 19 assist upside (what on Earth?), and his across-the-board production makes him one of the highest floor superstars imaginable. It's not a great match-up with Patrick Beverley, but Russ doesn't need a great match-up to do his work. While there's great value at PG today, safe lineups start with Russ. Ray McCallum - FD 3700 DK 3200 Opponent - LAL FD Proj. Pts - 21.75 DK Proj. Pts - 22.97 Toney Douglas - FD 5000 DK 5100 Opponent - MIA...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/21/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/21/16 After an oddly frantic Sunday of daily fantasy NBA action, we settle into a Monday slate that's equally as perplexing. There's no shortage of injury concerns, blowout worries, and stout defenses to navigate around. Thankfully it's a nice big slate that we'll surely be able to find some suitable plays for. The key here is going to be following our updates article throughout the day and making sure we stay on top of the news. This is a big point, actually - these picks are going to be as well reasoned as they can be given what we know the night before the contest, but daily fantasy basketball comes down to your ability to pivot late. So, get ready! Now’s your chance to get DFSR Pro with NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! POINT GUARD A note before we begin - I'm not including the Golden State and Minnesota guys here because I'm fairly sure the game will be a blowout. It should be an up and down game, though, so if you have a hunch that the game stays closer it would be an interesting stack. We're projecting them for fewer minutes, though, so you won't see those guys in these picks. Good luck! Isaiah Thomas - FD 7700 DK 7600 Opponent - ORL FD Proj. Pts - 36.19 DK Proj. Pts - 38.69 Thomas turned in a stellar performance against the 76ers on Sunday, putting up a busy 26/6/8 in ball-dominant minutes against the 76ers. And, really, this is just who Thomas is when the game stays close. The Celtics are totally prepared to run the offense through him, and they've shown that he can even play in the high 30s minutes if the game script is right. Well, this one has the makings of a game that could head...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/19/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 3/19/16 It's a late night here in DFSR land. Doug Norrie, my co-founder, is off in San Diego trying to take down the million dollar prize at the fantasy basketball world championship, and I'm here updating minutes and writing the picks. Not bitter! Doug ran the DraftKings optimal line-up tonight, and got creamed by Glass Davis taking yet another early exit. In a 100 person tournament you've got to focus on upside over safety, and Davis proved why he's not priced among the elite stars. Le' Sigh. We had Boogie at .06 points worse, and a swap there would have Doug sitting in 14th place overall - but that's DFS! If I know him, he'll be back to work tonight, ready to put in more lineups and get back to it. Let's see what the Saturday landscape looks like. Now’s your chance to get DFSR Pro with NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! POINT GUARD Tony Parker - FD 5100 DK 4500 Opponent - GSW FD Proj. Pts - 26.01 DK Proj. Pts - 26.74 I don't believe I've recommended Tony Parker a single time this season, partially because I always seem to write when the Spurs are guaranteed to win by a million. Well, tonight the one team that can give them a hard time at home - those pesky Golden State Warriors. This can only mean good things for Parker, who should be a favorite to play the upper end of his minutes (low 30s) against the league's 2nd fastest team. Parker is this cheap precisely because his minutes are so erratic, but he's paid 8x+ points per dollar in 2 of his last 4 games, and this should be one of his better ones. Russell Westbrook - FD 10600 DK 10500 Opponent - IND FD Proj. Pts - 52.32 DK...

Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings – 3/18/16

If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below! START YOUR FREE TRIAL! What We Know Tim Frazier is starting Frazier caught a lot of daily fantasy basketball players' eyes on Wednesday, dropping 33 fantasy points in 27 minutes in a blowout win over the Kings. He caught Alvin Gentry's eye, too, as Frazier has been announced the starter (likely in place of Toney Douglas) for Friday's tilt with with the Trail Blazers (revenge game, btw!). But man, it's pretty tough to figure out exactly how many minutes he's going to play. He'll be directly competing with Jrue Holiday, Toney Douglas, and Luke Babbitt for minutes, and Gentry's "short leash" tendencies have me a little spooked. Still, it's a good sign that he played 27 minutes in his first game with the Pelicans, and an even better sign that his coach was so inspired as to bump him into the starting lineup after one game. I'd guess he'll play high 20s minutes tonight, and should have no problem paying basically minimum prices. All of this assumes that Norris Cole is out again, by the way. Chances are good that Frazier's signing was an indication that Cole isn't close, but if he does come back, I wouldn't play Frazier anywhere. Brandon Bass is playing tonight We were on this in Bass' last game, and his absence predictably meant a rise in minutes for Julius Randle. Well, with Bass back tonight, it's only sensible to offer downward guidance on Randle even in a great match-up with the Suns tonight. Still some upside there, but don't count on him for 30 minutes.   What We're Waiting to Know Reggie Jackson - Will his breathing issue hold him out? Jackson missed practice on Thursday with what's being called a "breathing issue," and the Pistons have gone ahead and signed Lorenzo Brown as "insurance" against Jackson not playing tonight. I don't think I'd play a guy fresh up from the D-League in anything but a big tournament, but I'd turn my attention to...
