Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/6/16 Welcome to the daily updates and injury news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it! Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock tonight. By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. What We Know Carmelo Anthony will play But that doesn't mean you should trust him. I'll be taking a game to see if he's going to get his pre-rest minutes. I wouldn't even touch him in a big tournament tonight. This also depresses scoring dependent guys like Arron Afflalo. Bojan Bogdanovic is playing Yes, this qualifies as news! Not because you want to play Bogdanovic necessarily, but because this should take minutes away from speculative guys like Sean Kilpatrick and Markel Brown.   What We're Waiting to Know Will the Clippers, Cavs, or Thunder rest anyone today? Arguably the biggest unknown, and biggest needle mover of the day. All three teams played yesterday, and don't seem to have a lot to gain by playing anyone big minutes on the second half of a back to back. Then again, teams are weird, and I'm prepared for anything. Still, if I had to choose a big money player for safety tonight, I'd be starting with teams with something to play for (like Harden or Lillard) and steering clear of the locked in squads. Nicolas Batum's status Batum was a late-ish scratch last night, and freed up significant fantasy value for his teammates. Jeremy Lamb got a slight boost, but Jeremy Lin was the big beneficiary. In spite of a little elbow tendinitis, Jeremy Lin went out and played 40 minutes against the Raptors, pouring in 34 fantasy points with a well rounded 21/4/7 line. This is no fluke - Lin has put up numbers like these as a starter in the past - so monitor this situation closely. Jose Calderon and Kristaps Porzingis's availability Both are listed as doubtful, but it's not a sure thing just yet. Derrick Williams has provided solid value on nearly minimum prices, and is certainly capable of a monster if things break just so. On the point guard side of things, it's a little bit murkier. Jerian Grant looked to be the...

What We Know Brandon Knight is out for the season The Phoenix Suns are in full "tank" mode and have no incentive to win at this point in the season. They have decided to shut down Brandon Knight for the season due to the sports hernia he is dealing with. With only 5 games left in the season, this will open up some opportunity for Ronnie Price. Price has picked up 33 and 32 minutes in the previous 2 games Knight missed and will be the starting point guard from here on out. Tonight's match-up with the Hawks is a tough one as the Hawks are 6th in the league against point guards. However, Price is very cheap around the industry and is a fine value option in cash games and tournaments. Omri Casspi is out with a strained hamstring George Karl and the Kings have already shown us they don't mind letting guys rest with nothing to play for this late in the season. Casspi is a big part of the offense and plays the key role of 6th man. This news doesn't really put me onto anyone in this lineup but certainly secures the minutes for guys like Seth Curry and Ben McLemore. Hollis Thompson is back Those 30 minutes have to come from somewhere, and this likely means we'll see a little less Robert Covington and Jerami Grant. What We're Waiting to Know Taj Gibson is doubtful Gibson is listed as doubtful for tonight's contest, which means we might get the opportunity to tear our hair out rooting for Mirotic today. The Bulls' big man has been fantastic in 3 of the 4 days that Gibson's been out, but he was truly awful in one day. Hard to call it a safe play, but there's big boom potential for sure. Dwyane Wade is questionable with multiple injuries D-Wade and the heat are locked into the playoffs and are playing for seeding at this point. Wade and Spo are far mare worried about health heading into...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 4/5/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/5/16 Be honest - you came here yesterday looking for picks and were initially mad/confused that we didn't have them live. You went to email us (and many of you did) before doing a sanity check and looking at the NBA schedule, shoulders slumping in defeat. Or maybe I'm just describing what I went through when I went to write the picks last night. Either way - the NBA is blessedly back for another day, and boy is it a doozy. For starters, there are roughly 6 teams still playing for an 8th seed - the Jazz, Rockets, Mavs, Pistons, Pacers, and Bulls. Then there are teams like the Warriors, who want to win for other reasons. Then we have teams that checked out so long ago that they're just chugging along, doing their thing - the Suns and Pelicans, for instance. But what we really have is a MESS of a slate. I'll do my best to wade through it all, and be sure to tune in later on Tuesday for the updates article and the fun banter in the comments. Now’s your chance to get a free trial of DFSR Pro with NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, and player cards! While the seasons overlap, you'll get access to our tools for the NBA, MLB, and NHL! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! First time with NBA? Be sure to read our free NBA Ebook on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered. A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there! POINT GUARD The incredible pile of cheap guys: And it really will be an incredible pile. But it all comes down to who will start, and who won't. So rather than write the same guy up (in different words) four times, I'll give you a brief run down. Tim Frazier will be a great play again if he starts. Ronnie Price looks like a solid boom or bust option. Tyler Ennis has been playing solid minutes with an uncertain PG situation in Milwaukee. And there are more possibles if other starters sit, like Cory Joseph, or Matthew Dellavedova. Frazier is likely the safest of the bunch of he starts, with Delly a close second. That said, let's do the real players now. Damian Lillard - FD 8000 DK 8800 Opponent - SAC FD...

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – 4/3/16

Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings - 4/3/16 Welcome to Sunday NBA Basketball! It's everyone's favorite time of year. Lowry and DeRozan were late scratches just now (I'm writing this on Saturday), and thankfully our lineup optimizer had both outside the optimal lineup. Let's hope the luck continues! Today's slate is predictably a total mess. It's very tough to know who will play and who won't today, for injury reasons, shutting down dudes for the season reasons, and teams resting their players for the playoffs. Still, we should be able to pick out a good set of core guys to build around. Today is a day to be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the updates article for sure. A quick note on format, to that end. It's going to be a little different. I'm going to highlight some key plays, for sure, but there will also be some thoughts on how the day could go in general based on the playoff picture. Whew, enough preamble - let's do it. Now’s your chance to get DFSR Pro with NBA Optimal Lineups, Projections, Player Cards and Google Chrome extension that auto-populates your lineups into FanDuel. Or try a free trial of our base package with projections for every player. While the seasons overlap, you'll get access to our tools for the NBA and NHL (and MLB when the time comes)! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! First time with NBA? Be sure to read our free NBA Ebook on building lineups, general strategy and more. We've got you completely covered. POINT GUARD All the damned cheap guys you could pick from today. Barea is great once again if Deron is out, Ronnie Price is worth a look if he starts again, likewise for Jerian Grant, and heck, even Shane Larkin. The only rub here, of course, is that this time of the season is absolutely bananas. If we know any of these guys is starting, they're all worth a look. Damian Lillard - FD 8000 DK 8600 Opponent - GSW FD Proj. Pts - 38.84 DK Proj. Pts - 41.92 Stephen Curry - FD 10200 DK 10300 Opponent - POR FD Proj. Pts - 48.98 DK Proj. Pts - 53.23 Or you could go entirely in the opposite direction today. It's the age old question this time of year - do you want teams with nothing to play for because they suck, or nothing to play for because they're already in the playoffs? I'm giving these two their full minutes today because the Dubs still want the record (and redemption after losing their first home game), and the...

What We Know April Fools Day is arguably the dumbest holiday, and it's been made worse by social media. Nothing more fun that watching all of your uncreative friends make transparent and dumb April Fools "jokes," only to double down on their lack of a sense of humor by tacking on a "JK GUYS!! We're not actually having Sextuplets!!" Those of us who are old enough to remember April Fools Days of yore when you could go until, say, noon without even realizing it was going on will hardly be believed when we explain to our grandchildren how much less torturous it used to be. Deep breaths. On to basketball. DeMarcus Cousins is out, and Kosta Koufos looks delicious Cousins has missed 2 of his last 5 games, and we've seen what Koufos can do when the Boogie disappears. He paid 6x and 8.5x points per dollar on his FanDuel price in those contests, and his erratic role has him priced at a deep discount to what he can do as a starter. Great play in any format. Rudy Gay was a chalk play the last time Boogie missed one, and was truly terrible. Gay has played a much smaller roll in the offense in general recently, and I'm not sure he warrants even his current discounted price. Deron Williams is out, JJ Barea is playing Barea's price continues to climb, but frankly, he's earning it right now. He's on back to back games with 39+ fantasy points, and the Pistons are basically a league average match-up for opposing point guards. Increased price means increased risk on Barea, but he's so involved right now that it's hard to imagine him not having a respectable floor here regardless given than he's paid 6x+ points per dollar in three of his four games in this role. Zaza Pachulia is starting Zaza's been on up and down minutes recently, and the point-per-minute production has been similarly erratic, but...
