Brooklyn treated the Sixers on their home court in game one, and pundits everywhere were pouring dirt on "the process" (and The Process). Welp, in game 2 the Sixers poured in 51 third quarter points en route to a 22 point victory. So what should we expect for game three? Well, that isn't so clear at this point. This big question mark has to surround Joel Embiid, who quite frankly just looks hurt out there. He's not running the floor, he's said he has trouble "cutting and jumping," and generally looks uncomfortable. That being said, he's still averaging 22.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in just 22 minutes of action, so he's still taking full advantage of the tremendous match-up. He's currently listed as questionable for this one, but his uncertain status creates question marks throughout the Philly lineup. More minutes out of Embiid means a lot fewer shots to go around, and obviously fewer minutes for back-up bigs Mike Scott and Boban Marjanovic. Philadelphia Value Tobias Harris FD - $6800 DK - $6100Opponent - BKNProj Pts FD - 36.98 DK - 38.21 Ben Simmons FD - $9900 DK - $7700Opponent - BKNProj Pts FD - 52.96 DK - 53.62 The two premier Philly plays, for my money. The Simmons is piece is likely obvious. He simply has to be the main creator with Embiid hobbled, and he finally rose to the occasion in game two. He dropped a triple double in less than 30 minutes on the floor, and he was finally able to take advantage of his considerable size advantage. He goes from a solid play if Embiid is fully healthy and a must-play if he isn't, so you're going to play him regardless. Harris might not present quite so obvious a case, but at the very least I loved seeing him lead the team in minutes...

FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Playoff Picks - Tuesday 4/16/19 We've got a big Wednesday in NBA Playoff action. Can the Magic keep the, well, magic going against Toronto? Will we see another close one in Portland? Is Denver for real or will they cave in this series to the Spurs? Lots to look at for a three-game playoff NBA slate. Magic (10) vs. Raptors (-10)Vegas Projected Score: Toronto: 109.75 - Orlando: 100.75Vegas Over/Under: 210.5Series: Orlando 1-0 The Magic stole a game in a stunner with a late-game D.J. Augustin dagger three to all but seal the deal. They shot the lights out from three (48%) but looked tough on the defensive end against a seemingly superior Raptors’ squad. It’s difficult to imagine the Magic sustaining this level of basketball for an entire seven-game series, but they are clearly at worst, a very tough matchup for the Raptors. They are long around the perimeter and have the size inside with Vucevic to cause real problems on the defensive end. Orlando Value Jonathan Isaac FD - $5100 DK - $4900Opponent - TORProj Pts FD - 29.37 DK - 28.69 If the Game 1 minutes are the new normal then Isaac is among the very best value plays on this three-game slate. He played 40 minutes and finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. While those per minute numbers aren’t all that impressive, you really have to think this is around the floor on his production if he’s going to run 83% of the game. Evan Fournier FD - $5600 DK - $5500Opponent - TORProj Pts FD - 28.5 DK - 29.69 Fournier was another big minutes guy for the Magic. His length and defensive ability (like Isaac) help him stay on the court for longer stretches. Dude took the most shots on the team (18) and finished with 16 points. The other stats were lackluster leaving his overall fantasy line a little unimpressive despite the court time. I’m fine buying in the mid-tier on the minutes though and think he’ll continue to see similar usage. The other stats should come around. Toronto Value Pascal Siakam FD - $7800 DK - $7100Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 40.83...

Nets (8) vs. 76ers (-8)Vegas Projected Score: Nets: 108.75 - 76ers: 116.75Series: Nets 1-0 The Sixers came out and laid an egg in Game 1, struggling in ever aspect of the game (including health) and allowing the Nets to basically dominate them en route to 111-102 Brooklyn victory. There were a couple of main story lines. The primary one (and it will be the same going into Game 2) being the status of Joel Embiid. Philly waited until the last possible second to clear their superstar and he came out clearly looking less than 100%. He wasn’t able to play the full game and there is speculation he won’t be able to play Game 2. The Nets played some of their bench heavy rotations, but it’s always so hard to project minutes on a game-to-game basis for this group. They play matchups and hot-hands as much as anyone in the league and could do so again depending on what Embiid’s status is on Monday. Nets Value Spencer Dinwiddie FD - $4900 DK - $5000Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 28.62 DK - 29.79 Dinwiddie was one of the bench stars for Brooklyn, playing 32 minutes off the pine (including crunch time) and finishing with 18 points on 6-14 shooting (2-5 from three). He’s still coming priced at a value if you think this is the Nets’ plan going forward with their backup point guard. They can run him and D'Angelo Russell together so the latter’s minutes don’t necessarily cut into the former’s. Dinwiddie is still a solid middle tier play on a tightly-priced two-game slate. Jarrett Allen FD - $6000 DK - $4500Opponent - PHIProj Pts FD - 28.61 DK - 27.73 Allen played only 10 minutes in Game 1 mostly because he was an epic foul box every time Embiid was on the court. If the latter sits then I think Allen becomes one of the very best value plays on the slate. He’d look even better on a minutes trajectory if Ed Davis were forced to sit...

We've got you completely covered. Indiana Pacers at the Boston Celtics Boston is favored by 7 in a game with a 209.5 total. We start things off with a classic "good game, bad DFS game," which admittedly happens a lot during the playoffs. This game has the lowest total on the slate, and it also features two teams that don't typically bring the DFS value in the first place. Boston won the season series 3-1, but this series should be close enough that we certainly won't be worried about blowouts or anything like that. As of right now it looks like both teams will be featuring their full lineups, and while we don't need to worry about anything in the same way we did with Embiid yesterday, there isn't a lot of opportunity-based value jumping out at me right now either. Let's see what we can find, though. Thaddeus Young FD - $5400 DK - $5700 Opponent - BOS Proj Pts FD - 31.38 DK - 30.92 Myles Turner FD - $7000 DK - $6000 Opponent - BOS Proj Pts FD - 36.11 DK - 34.68 For a game with a low total, our lineup optimizer actually sees quite a loot that it likes on the Indiana side. A lot of this is based on somewhat aggressive projecting on our part, with the idea being that Indiana is a team should be primed to shortening its rotation come playoff time. There wasn't a single Pacer that averaged more than 32 minutes a game during the regular season, with things on the line late in the season we saw that they plan to play their two bigs here 34+ minutes in close games. Thad is criminally priced based on his late season production, and you can make a strong argument that the Pacers will be leaning more heavily on Turner as well. Both of these guys are great cash game options at rather thin positions today. After Thad and Myles, things get a little dicier. I'd like to think Darren Collison and Wes Matthews are in line for mid-30s minutes rotations this series, but it's a little hard to count on that given their late season injury woes. Bojan Bogdanovic falls in the "solid but unspectacular" category. Kyrie Irving FD - $8800 DK - $8100 Opponent -...

We've got you completely covered. Brooklyn Nets at the Philadelphia 76ers Philadelphia is favored by 8 in a game with a 225.5 total. The 2019 playoffs kick off with what is, in my opinion, the most interesting game on Saturday's slate. Brooklyn and Philly split their season series in 2018-2019, with each team taking 2 games and Brooklyn holding a +13 point differential. So what's with Philly being so heavily favored, here? Well, the Sixers have gone all-in in a well documented fashion this season, adding Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris to an already exciting young core, and it's fair to suggest that this is not the same team that the Nets beat by 25 points in November. The Nets were also a part of the rather indistinguishable group of bottom-feeders in the East, who seemed to be stumbling over one another to avoid making the playoffs before winning their last three games en route to the 6 seed. And then there's Philly, who was doing a weird mix of sitting guys for "rest" and light injuries given that their seeding and potential match-ups were relatively secure for the last week of the season. We are still officially unsure about Embiid's status, but Vegas seems confident enough that he'll be out there doing his thing. Given that we've now eliminated the bottom 50% of the league, Brooklyn has to be considered the best fantasy match-up on the slate (if not the whole playoffs). So where do we go here for fantasy purposes? Well, I'd actually like to start with the Nets. On the surface, this just seems like a terrible spot to play any Brooklyn guys unless you just find yourself short at a given position. Their minutes were crazy all season long, and only Joe Harris and D'Angelo Russell averaged more than 30 minutes per game for them this year. Given that you can get actual safety from teams with shorter rotations, it probably makes sense for you to do so for cash game purposes. For big tournaments, though? It wouldn't shock me at all to see Brooklyn do what most sensible teams do and dramatically shorten their rotation come playoff time. If they luck into something that seems to be working I could absolutely see them riding it out. Philly actually landed in the...
