Following a simply awesome day of Sunday basketball with two Game 7’s that, while not pretty, lived up to expectation in the drama department. Trail Blazers (8) vs. Warriors (-8) Projected Score: Golden State - 113.5 Portland - 105.5 Over/Under: 219 Series: 0-0 Portland wrestled away Game 7 from Denver on the road to advance for a somewhat improbable chance at making the Finals. The Warriors open the series at -520 in one they should move through easily. But that’s famous last words with these playoffs. Portland took a hero effort from Damian Lillard in Round 1 to move past the Thunder including the *second best* buzzer beater of the playoffs. They are without Jusuf Nurkic, arguably their second-best player this season and have worked rotations more than any other team in the playoffs in order to get everything they can out of matchups. Meanwhile, the Warriors moved past the Rockets, winning Games 5 and 6 despite losing Kevin Durant in the former. They’ll be without Durant for at least the first two games of this series and maybe longer. The injury reports out of the Warriors are vague at best. Portland Value We have a couple of different issues, from a projection standpoint, when it comes to the Blazers. First off, they are nearly impossible to get a handle on regarding their rotations. For instance, in Game 7 against the Nuggets, Al-Farouq Aminu (FD 4300 DK 4000) and Maurice Harkless (FD 4000 DK 3800) started and played a combined 24 minutes (Aminu-7, Harkless-17). The bench guys were the story. Additionally, I suppose there is at least some blowout concern if the Warriors start really moving downhill with their offense (plus Portland could be pretty gassed coming in). That being said, Rodney Hood sure looks like he’s going to miss some time to start the series at least and...

Trail Blazers (5.5) vs. Nuggets (-5.5) Vegas Projected Score: Denver: 109 Portland: 104.5 Over/Under: 212.5 Series: Tied 3-3 Six games later, and at least we know what these teams want to do by now. Denver jumped out to an 8 point lead after the first quarter in game one, but Portland has shown as much battle as anyone in the entire postseason so far. Both teams seem to be setting down the gimmicks and letting their best five decide this series, and game seven could be a classic. Let's look at the individual teams more closely. Denver Jamal Murray FD - $8500 DK - $7200Opponent - PORProj Pts FD - 42.52 DK - 43.92 Gary Harris FD - $6000 DK - $5200Opponent - PORProj Pts FD - 32.09 DK - 32.37 Denver has decided that only two guards should play in this series, with Murray and Harris combining for 86 of the 96 guard minutes. You're paying peak prices for both of them, but both of them were handily worth these prices in game 6. There's really not much else to say - if these are the only two guards playing for Denver you're going to play them in cash games on a two game slate. Nikola Jokic and Paul Millsap are obviously established as the other two pieces that Denver will be relying on, and it's not terrible to run them out there against Portland's hobbled front-court. The Trail Blazers can not seem to decide what they want to do down low, with the Enes Kanter plan sort of fizzling out and them getting away from Aminu altogether. You have to think that this pair can punish Collins and Kanter, and the floor seems to be plenty high. Portland Now here's a team with some intrigue. The Trail Blazers decided they had seen enough of Moe Harkless and Al-Farouq Aminu in game 6, and wound up giving extended run...
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Playoff Picks – Thursday Preview
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Playoff Picks - Thursday Preview We're heading into a day with two series that were looking really close a couple of days ago, but a lot less so these days. Still, a 3-2 lead is totally surmountable, and both the Trail Blazers and Sixers have shown plenty of life in their respective series. Let's break it all down. We've got you completely covered. 76ers (2) vs. Raptors (-2) Vegas Projected Score: Toronto: 107.75 Philadelphia: 105.75 Over/Under: 213.5 Series: Toronto 3-2 All of a sudden it feels like an eternity ago that the Sixers were up 2-1 after two decisive wins on the back of Jimmy Butler. Two games ago it looked like Brett Brown was a genius, and that the Raptors were quite simply short on talent. Two games later, and it's starting to look a bit more like having a few great pieces that fit might be better than having several great pieces that don't fit so well. It's exceedingly difficult to learn much from a 36 point blowout, other than that such blowouts are possible. The Raptors just kept doing what they do, and doing it even better than usual. We did see that it looks the injury issues that plagued Siakam in game 4 look to be past him, so there's that, but other than that I'm not sure what else we can really say about this one. Let's look at the individual teams. Philadelphia It's honestly getting tough to recommend anyone on Philly right now. Joel Embiid has more ailments than he had made shots in game 5. Ben Simmons shot five times. Together these two had 15 shots and 13 turnovers. All of this to say, things aren't looking amazing. I wouldn't touch of either of the big two in cash games. But I don't think you can fade the team entirely, so here's where I'm looking. J.J. Redick FD - $4300 DK - $4600Opponent - TORProj Pts FD - 27.99 DK - 29.98 Tobias Harris FD - $7600 DK - $6400Opponent - TORProj Pts FD - 37.3 DK - 38.65 Yep, I'm going to start with the peripheral pieces. Like I said, it's tough to learn much about Philly's plan for game 5 given how badly they got blown out, but...
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Playoff Picks – Wednesday Preview
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Playoff Picks - Wednesday Preview On Wednesday we have two series looking quite different from each other. In the first game, we have a possible elimination scenario with the Bucks up 3-1 on the Celtics and playing at home. Meanwhile, the Rockets forced the series to 2-2 and now must withstand a game in the Bay Area. We've got you completely covered. Celtics (9) vs. Bucks (-9) Vegas Projected Score: Milwaukee - 118.5 Boston - 109.5 Over/Under: 218 Series: Milwaukee 3-1 After dropping Game 1 to Boston, Milwaukee has stormed back in the series to take the next three, including the last two in Boston. It now shifts back home for the Bucks with a chance to cement this thing and move on the Eastern Conference Finals. Milwaukee took back control of the series doing what they do best: handing the ball the Giannis and daring anyone to stop him. That’s simplifying things, but it’s basically worked. We’ll get into his fantasy stats in a moment, but Milwaukee attacked with him over and over, working to get him into mismatches as much as possible (which is basically every matchup he gets). Those mismatches on switches, or by spreading the rest of the offense with shooters allows Giannis to work his way into the paint. This is just one example (there are many of course). Giannis has Horford on him at the top of the key. They get the switch on to Tatum, spread the floor and that’s the end of things for the Celtics on defense. Giannis is attempting 12.5 shots per game in the paint against the Celtics and shooting 73% from less than 10 feet from the series. While Boston is trying their hardest to keep Horford on Giannis (and vice versa) it’s been a struggle over the short term. One can only imagine things keep going like this. Boston Value Jayson Tatum FD - $7600 DK - $5800Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 34.93 DK - 34.84 After looking non-existent for the first two games, Tatum asserted himself for Games 3 and 4 with an average of 18 points and 11 rebounds on 14 shots per game. That he’s still struggled from three (1-10 over those two) is indicative of the Celtics’ woes, though...
