FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Wednesday 10/23/19 After a shorter two-game slate to start the season, Wednesday feels like the day things really tip off with 11 games across the league. There are plenty of ways to speculate on minutes and new roles in what's a turned over league. Let's go through some cash game plays for FanDuel and DraftKings.   Head on over a for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our NFL Optimizer and NHL Projections as well. Point Guard Terry Rozier FD - $7000 DK - $7300Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 35.61 DK - 36.57 The Hornets are going to be terrible, of that there is little doubt. They lost Kemba Walker in the offseason and got only really a max-contract Terry Rozier back in *return*. This is going to be a rough season for the Charlotte fan(s). But it doesn’t mean we can’t get DFS value going from a bad team. Rozier was their “prize” from free agency. He led the team in usage for the preseason which isn’t surprising and that should be the case over the course of the year as well. We don’t have a fantastic idea of what his stats will look like now that he’s out of Boston and is the focal point of the offense. But if the plan is for him to take over even like 75% of Walker’s shots from last season, or something like 14-15 shots at least, then he has major upside on these prices. Again, you can play players from bad teams and maybe the only thing we are fading with Rozier is the blowout. De'Aaron Fox FD - $8600 DK - $7700Opponent - PHOProj Pts FD - 40.45 DK - 40.21 The Kings have a team they think can make a playoff push this season, and I can’t say I doubt them. They put pieces together in the offseason that signal a push toward “respectability” with guys like Harrison Barnes (overpaid), Trevor Ariza (overpaid) and Dewayne Dedmon (nice piece). But for all of their signings, those minutes won’t cut into Fox at all who actually could see a tick up in court time this season. He played 31 minutes per game last season and I wouldn’t be shocked for that go up a couple. He averaged 17 points, seven assists...

Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA, NFL and NHL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! It’s a two-game slate for FanDuel and DraftKings with some big matchups to start the season. The bummer is that Zion Williamson won’t make his debut for the Pelicans after it was reported he would miss 6-8 weeks with a meniscus tear. But the Pelicans still have plenty of firepower with Jrue Holiday, Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball. They’ll take on a Toronto Raptors team that lost Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green in the offseason but is actually still a rather projectable unit. Pascal Siakam is looking close to a cash game lock on this slate and other Raptors like Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet and even O.G. Anunoby could make for safe and reliable options at their current price points. The second game between the Lakers and the Clippers should make for a great one as well. The Lakers bring in Anthony Davis in the offseason to compliment Lebron James and with the additions of Avery Bradley and Danny Green, this is a new-look purple and gold squad. Davis could be something of a chalk play on both sites with Javale Magee an interesting option at center. On the Clippers’ side, the guys discuss Kawhi Leonard making the move to LA, Montrezl Harrell possibly playing even more this season and some other pieces that could make for DFS...

FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Tuesday 10/22/19

FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Tuesday 10/22/19   Basketball is back baby! Before a big Wednesday of hoops, we get a two-game slate to tip things off. Following the craziest offseason of all-time, we have an almost completely new NBA to figure out. Superstars teamed up, franchises went through major overhauls and there's an entire new landscape in the league. But we've got you covered during what could be a tumultuous beginning of the year.   Head on over a for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our NFL Optimizer and NHL Projections as well. Point Guard Patrick Beverley FD - $5100 DK - $5000Opponent - LALProj Pts FD - 27.45 DK - 27.58 Beverley hasn’t ever been much of a scorer, often defaulting to an elite on-ball defender who lets others take over the offense. It’s been a role that’s suited him and earned him a three-year payday in the offseason from the Clippers. But his role could be expanded to start this season. The Clips shipped off Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari for essentially Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, but the latter will sit the first ten games. While PG's absence isn't a one-to-one comp for opportunity, one has to assume Beverley’s role and rotations are uber-safe for the Clippers to start the season. We could even see a slight uptick in his usage and he’s been a knock down three-point shooter (40%) over the last two seasons. He’s coming at reasonable prices for a higher minutes floor on this opening slate and I don’t love some of the pay up options at point guard. Fred Vanvleet FD - $5600 DK - $4800Opponent - NOProj Pts FD - 31.87 DK - 32.37 For a team that won a championship and then promptly lost its best player, we actually have a pretty good idea of Toronto’s plan this season. That’s because last year we saw plenty of this club without Kawhi Leonard. The latter missed 22 regular season games and the rest of the team more than picked up the slack. VanVleet often drew the start and it looks like FVV will enter the starting lineup this season alongside Kyle Lowry. With Leonard off the court last season VanVleet saw roughly a 5% tick up in usage and the minutes should be incredibly safe to start...

DFS NBA Podcast - FanDuel and DraftKings Release Prices and Betting Team Win Totals 10/15/19 Basketball is almost back baby and the DFSR crew is already in midseason form with their DFS NBA Podcast for FanDuel and DraftKings. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA, NFL and NHL optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! With FanDuel and DraftKings releasing early pricing, the guys thought it a great chance to begin looking at the upcoming NBA season and give some insight into how they produce their projections and what this year will mean with such massive turnover in the NBA. It’s a season unlike anything we’ve seen before with so much superstar upheaval and it could make for some interesting theories on projections especially early on. The guys use the first night’s games, a two-game slate, to give an inner look at how they think about things like usage, playing time and opportunity for players in new situations. They discuss the new-look Pelicans, a Raptors team without their Finals MVP, how the Lakers will use their big-two and of course the Clippers who now have Kawhi Leonard but will be without Paul George to start the season. Then they roll through some over/under season win totals on MyBookie.ag (Promocode: Overtime) with some thoughts about teams compared to last year and what it means to bet in this current iteration of the NBA. You can also read some of our team betting previews where we've covered the New York Knicks and how we liked the over on their wins. We also covered the Brooklyn Nets and their prospects this season. And finally we took a look at the Portland...

2019-2020 NBA Betting Preview: Will the Brooklyn Nets Additions Add up to More Wins?

NBA Preview: Will the Brooklyn Nets Additions Actually Add up to More Wins? Leading up to the start of the season, we'll be looking at a bunch of different teams, breaking down their offseasons, and looking ahead how they project relative to their Vegas implied win total. We already covered the New York Knicks and how we liked the over on their wins. Now we take a look at the team across town, the Nets. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL, NBA and MLB optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Brooklyn Nets 2018-2019 Record 42-40 2018-2019 Point Differential -0.1 2018-2019 Pythagorean Record 40-40 Offseason Additions Kevin Durant (recovering from injury) Kyrie Irving DeAndre Jordan Taurean Prince Wilson Chandler Garrett Temple Offseason Losses D’Angelo Russell Ed Davis Demarre Carroll Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Projected Starting Lineup Kyrie Irving, Caris Levert, Joe Harris, Taurean Prince, Jarrett Allen Key Bench Players Spencer Dinwiddie, Rodion Kurucs, DeAndre Jordan, Wilson Chandler (suspended), David Nwaba, Garrett Temple The Nets were the darlings of the offseason (until the Clippers’ thing happened), locking up both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant to contracts and ushering in a new era of New York basketball. It was a major coup for a franchise only a few years removed from being seemingly locked into long-term rebuilding hell. Following a first round exit to the Philadelphia 76ers, the future looked bright enough on its own considering they’d taken some young pieces and a reclamation project (or two) turning them into a viable NBA team that even took a game in the series. Then they went ahead and signed two of the best players in the league to fit around a young core of players. Typically, teams tend to improve season-over-season by retaining their best parts and upgrading along the edges or in the spaces they most needed help. The Nets didn’t take that approach this offseason. They went about it by just taking the best available players and calling it a day. Let me be clear, this is almost always going to be the correct approach. In terms of Win Shares, here were the Nets’ four *best* players last season: Jarrett Allen 7.6 Ed Davis 5.7 Joe Harris 5.5 D’Angelo Russell 5.0 Two of those players are gone, replaced with guys at the same position. This isn't the typical linear upgrade apprach and it does leave us in a somewhat weird spot about how to evaluate their prospects for THIS season. Should they be better? It seems so. Will they be significantly better? I’m not so sure. Sure they finished the...
