We are going to focus on a few of the superstars playing and it’s going to be tough getting away from Luka here. Dallas will need him to play a ton if they have hope of advancing through this series against the Clippers and he was actually able to do work against this squad last season in the playoffs. Last year in the bubble against the Clippers he averaged 31 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for the series while also contributing on the defensive end as well. I think we can assume similar lines for him in this series. Kemba Walker FD - $7800 DK - $7500Opponent - BKNProj Pts FD - 38.53 DK - 40.18 For the Celtics to hope to make this anything like a series they are going to need a ton of scoring from Kemba. In the play-in game against the Wizards, he took a whopping 24 shots in the win, dropping 29 points when it was all said and done. The Celtics will need all of that and more if they hope to keep pace with the Nets. With Jaylen Brown out of the lineup, Boston is short on scoring options meaning Kemba’s usage should remain high. If you think the Clippers start bumping up his minutes a little then Patrick Beverley (FD $3700 DK $3300) isn’t a terrible punt play if he’s starting. Shooting Guard C.J. McCollum FD - $7500 DK - $7900Opponent - DENProj Pts FD - 42.61 DK - 44.14 Even with the Blazers playing at mostly full-strength to finish off the season, McCollum was able to find enough scoring in this offense to mostly justify these prices. It’s easier to swallow on FanDuel for sure, but it’s close on DraftKings if you think the minutes get pushed close to 40. Over the last five games, he’s averaging 26 points, five assists and three rebounds which is just about at value on these prices and that was on minutes lower...

It was really something, carrying the Warriors throughout and putting them on his back for the entirety. He and Lebron have been on a collision course over the last couple of weeks of the season and now they are here with a chance to lock up the 7th seed in just one game. If there was a game for Curry to run low-40s minutes, this is the one. He dropped 46 points in a must-win over the Grizzlies on Sunday and just casually led the league in scoring shooting 42% from three on a ridiculous 12.7 attempts per game. The Lakers matchup isn’t a good one, but this is Steph we are talking about. Dejounte Murray FD - $7700 DK - $6300Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 40.37 DK - 40.48 Murray should be good for minutes in the upper-30s in this game giving him a very high floor considering how he scores his fantasy points. He struggled in the final game of the year against the Suns, but on the season he was good for 16 points, seven rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.5 steals in 32 minutes per game. That should increase here and because he’s not scoring dependent the risk is a little lower at this price point. If there was a Grizzlies player who was going to play 40+ minutes, it would be Ja Morant (FD $7500 DK $8300) Shooting Guard DeMar DeRozan FD - $7500 DK - $7000Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 42.86 DK - 43.35 Like Murray, we could see DeRozan play minutes in the high-30s in this game. His pricing in the middle tier makes him an attractive play on this shorter slate. DDR didn’t shoot as much this season, taking only 15 shots per game, but was still efficient from the field at 50%. His scoring ability should be on display in this game and he’s facing a Memphis team that played the 8th-fastest pace in the league this season. Dillon Brooks FD - $6800...

He’s coming in at some of the biggest salary numbers you’ve seen, but it is completely warranted. He’s a near-lock to play 40+ minutes in this game and even with Bradley Beal back the last couple of games, he put up an average of 22 points, 14 assists, and 14 rebounds. The stat accumulation is nearly unmatched and it's lead to the crazy prices, but the floor is so damn high in this game. Kemba Walker FD - $8200 DK - $7300Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 41.91 DK - 43.47 The bad news first: Kemba hasn’t played in more than a week, sitting out the last few games of the Celtics’ season. That does give me some pause around what his minute's floor looks like in this game. But before he went down the minute's leash was lifted and he played 35, 40, and 38 minutes in his final three games. He dropped more than 30 points in two of those games. Keep an ear out for whether the Celts have a minutes cap on him. And I’ll also say, I like this play a lot less if Jaylen Brown actually makes a return to the fold. Shooting Guard Marcus Smart FD - $5700 DK - $5800Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 33.95 DK - 34.1 Like Kemba Walker, I’m a little concerned about the Celtics plan with Marcus Smart here. He also hasn’t played in a week, but it does look a lot like injury management and he’s not on the report leading into this game. That leads me to think he’s a full-go in this game. If that’s the case then he does represent one of the better ways to save in the middle tier which isn’t always that easy in these smaller playoff slates. Minnesota has been chippy late in the season and could put up a fight here, but I think the floor on Luka combined with the team’s motivations to win are enough to keep him in cash lineups on this slate. Coby White FD - $6100 DK - $6500Opponent - MILProj Pts FD - 34.24 DK - 36.42 White got the start for the injured (resting), Zach Lavine, on Saturday when the Bulls played the Nets. The former stunk up the joint, going 1-10 from the field and finishing with just three points in his 34 minutes. Obviously, that game was a disaster, but shouldn’t be used to create a projection for this one. If he’s running minutes in the mid-30s then he’s still a good value at these prices. I’d go back to the well on White if he’s starting again against Milwaukee. he still added six assists and seven rebounds. If the scoring rounds out some then he’s a good cash play. The Blazers should be going all-out in this game meaning Damian Lillard (FD 9900 DK 9400) would see a lot of minutes. Shooting Guard Hamidou Diallo FD - $7200 DK - $4700Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 34.93 DK - 34.82 Josh Jackson FD - $5200 DK - $5900Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 29.59 DK - 30.1 Diallo returned from a Covid protocol absence on Friday and got the start for the Pistons. He was excellent, putting up 18 points and 12 rebounds in his 35 minutes. He should be in line for a similar run on Sunday with Detroit once again playing shorthanded. His last two games have been a bit rough, but he does have double-double upside nearly every time he steps on the court. The Knicks are a good defense, and slow but again, few other teams are going to put their best foot forward on this slate. Chris Paul FD - $7900 DK - $8200Opponent - SAProj Pts FD - 38.19 DK - 38.8 Because the Suns own the tiebreaker over the Jazz, this game does mean something for Phoenix. They could still grab the #1 seed in the West if Utah were to lose on Sunday. Again, that’s about as much as we can ask for with these late-season slates which have gotten ridiculous. Paul has double-digit assists in five of his last seven games and has scored 24 or more in each of the last two. The Spurs have already decided to sit a lot of their key players for this game so there is blowout concern, but Paul should have a high enough floor at these price points. If Caris LeVert again then we could be looking at T.J. McConnell (FD $6500 DK $6600) playing mid-40s minutes again. Shooting Guard Devin Booker FD - $7300 DK - $8500Opponent - SAProj Pts FD - 45.34 DK - 47.78 Booker was a chalk option on Thursday and really struggled from the field going 5-17 and scoring *just* 18 points while turning the ball over four times. It was a disappointing performance, to say the least. But considering there is a lack of very expensive options on this one and likely a lot of punts, it’s going to make sense to run him out there against the Spurs.
