Point Guard Derrick White FD - $6300 DK - $6500 Opponent - ORL Proj Pts FD - 35.13 DK - 35.45 White isn't the type of play that jumps off the page at first, but he probably should be. First of all, he's quietly been consolidating more shots in the San Antonio offense, averaging 16.67 shots per game over his last 6 games (as opposed to his season averages of 12.4). That's a huge increase, and yet the price is still closer to where it was when he didn't have such a prominent role. Then there's the match-up, with the Magic having allowed the very most fantasy points to opposing point guards so far this season. Ben Simmons FD - $7200 DK - $8200 Opponent - DAL Proj Pts FD - 38.27 DK - 38.55 I'm writing up Simmons with less conviction then I though I would be when I saw the $7,200 price tag, mostly due to his recent game log. But as I went game by game, I could come up with a good reason he wasn't paying these paltry prices. Mostly, it was because Philly hasn't been in that many close games recently. We know that Simmons will run a 35 minute rotation when duty calls, and in this game, duty is a callin' in the form of Luka Doncic. If you see this game staying close, you almost have to envision Simmons matching Luka's rotations, in which case paying a $7,200 price tag should be trivial. Also considered: Luka, even if he his smashing into the Ben Simmons defensive meat grinder. Keep an eye on the Nets starting lineup. With Kyrie and Harden ruled out, Chris Chiozza could party like it's 2020. Shooting Guard Joe Ingles FD - $5500 DK - $5700 Opponent - WAS Proj Pts FD - 32.28 DK - 34.37 Donovan Mitchell FD - $9000 DK - $9200 Opponent - WAS Proj Pts FD - 45.54 DK - 47.82 Shooting guard stops and starts with the Utah Jazz for me, tonight. With Conley ruled out and Clarkson doubtful, Ingles and Mitchell will undoubtedly be running the show against a Wizards team that plays the...

Point Guard Jrue Holiday FD - $8700 DK - $8200Opponent - ORLProj Pts FD - 44.5 DK - 44.81 It looks like the Bucks will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo again on Sunday leaving a lot of usage and minutes to Jrue Holiday. Milwaukee did the B-team shuffle last game with everyone sitting, but that won’t be the case here on Sunday. Everyone but Giannis looks like they will be back. Holiday has a full-season 22% usage rate, but that number spikes to 28% when Giannis is off the court. And the assets go up dramatically as well. This is a pretty easy spot for Jrue even with the price increase. Reggie Jackson FD - $5300 DK - $5100Opponent - DETProj Pts FD - 28.68 DK - 29.79 Kawhi Leonard is going to miss this game and Patrick Beverley is going to miss extended time with a broken hand. That has and is going to continue to leave an opportunity for Reggie Jackson in this offense. The Clippers have very few players who can create their own shot and RJax is one of them. He started last game when Paul George missed and played 30 minutes, took 14 shots, and dropped 26 points along with seven assists. That game was a blowout and I think 32-33 is more in line in a close one. Shooting Guard Paul George FD - $9000 DK - $8400Opponent - DETProj Pts FD - 45.81 DK - 47.79 Terance Mann FD - $5100 DK - $4900Opponent - DETProj Pts FD - 26.56 DK - 26.67 With Kawhi Leonard already ruled out of this game, the lion’s share of the usage should go to Paul George in this game. On the season, George has a 28% usage rate which is effectively tied with Leonard. But that number for George jumps to 33% when Kawhi sits. PG could take a ton of shots in this this game and the minutes should be up and around 36-37 at least. His run has been cut short of late, but the Clippers have played in some weird games, plus a blowout or two. Meanwhile, I know he’s coming off the bench, but Mann is another one of...

Point Guard Stephen Curry FD - $10000 DK - $10100Opponent - HOUProj Pts FD - 52.88 DK - 55.71 Curry is coming on the back-to-back here so there’s some concern over whether or not he would sit. But the Warriors are also on the razor’s edge with the playoffs and it’s a little unclear how motivated they are to get there. They lost a close one to the Wizards on Friday, but Curry was great dropping 32 points, six assists, and five rebounds. The matchup against the woeful Rockets isn’t as good but it’s still a solid spot to target the superstar. Keep an ear out for any plans to sit but if he’s in then Curry is a strong cash option in the upper tier. Russell Westbrook (FD 11300 DK 10900) is definitely in play if Bradley Beal is sitting out the second half of the back-to-back. The latter isn’t currently on the injury list but has been dealing with some injuries of late. Westbrook is already close to a play here but would be a must if Beal were to sit. There’s some chance that Joel Embiid sits on the second half of the back-to-back for the 76ers on Saturday. If that was the case then I think we could rather safely roll Ben Simmons (FD 7400 DK 8200) at these prices. I suppose you can consider Dennis Smith Jr. (FD 4000 DK 3400) if he’s starting again. But the Pistons are admittedly kind of a mess. Shooting Guard Donovan Mitchell FD - $8500 DK - $8800Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 44.5 DK - 46.72 Joe Ingles FD - $5200 DK - $5400Opponent - SACProj Pts FD - 31.41 DK - 33.23 Jordan Clarkson is going to sit this game out again, opening up more opportunities for both of these guys. Typically, a bench player sitting out wouldn’t have all that much effect on the starters in terms of cash-game viability. But this Jazz situation is just a little different. Clarkson actually has the second-highest usage on the teams (28%) behind only Mitchell and is the lynchpin of their bench scoring. Losing him does free up more shots for the rest of...

FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks – Friday, 4/9/21

FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Friday, 4/9/21 Some wacky things are going on in the NBA right now. As someone who covers basketball for a living, players are suiting up every night that I've never heard of. That's just how bizarre things are right now, and it's likely to continue with so many teams falling out of it. It's all about adapting at this point of the season, though, and you'll see what I mean with some of the names you'll see in here. With that in mind, let's kick things off with someone that everyone knows. Head on over for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections as well. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Stephen Curry FD - $9600 DK - $9900 Opponent - WAS Proj Pts FD - 51.33 DK - 54.5 If the Warriors had a better record, Curry would be firmly in the MVP discussion. He's currently averaging 29.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. That's led to a 49-point average for the season on DraftKings, and he's been even better since his return from injury. In fact, Chef Curry has at least 50 fantasy points in all four games since his return, en route to a 54-point average. All of that makes him good against anyone, but Washington happens to be the most fantasy-friendly opponent in the NBA. They currently rank 26th in defensive efficiency and 30th in points allowed while playing at the fastest pace in the league. Terry Rozier FD - $7300 DK - $8500 Opponent - MIL Proj Pts FD - 40.87 DK - 42.41 I have a feeling that Scary Terry is going to live in this article for the next month. We say that because Charlotte's backcourt is a shell of itself, missing Gordon Hayward, LaMelo Ball, and Malik Monk. That's three of the primary scorers on this roster, and it's going to leave Rozier with primary ball-handling duties and an opportunity to take 20-25 shots a game. That's awesome for a dude in the midst of a breakout season, with Scary Terry averaging 35 fantasy points per game. We honestly don't expect Milwaukee to slow him down either, with the Bucks ranked 19th in points allowed while playing at the third-fastest pace in the NBA. If Jamal Murray is out,...

Point Guard De'Aaron Fox FD - $9300 DK - $9300 Opponent - DET Proj Pts FD - 47.73 DK - 48.36 Until we get a few pieces of key news, point guard is looking fairly grim tonight. Fox himself is not exactly an exciting play. It's basically a league average match-up wth Detroit, and he's not cheap for his production. It's basically just a war of attrition at the top end of the position. Several of the best guys have terrible match-ups, Luka is on the second half of a back to back in a bad match-up, and other guys are over-priced. So, fairly priced in a decent match-up winds up creeping to the top. Théo Maledon FD - $5400 DK - $5300 Opponent - CLE Proj Pts FD - 27.42 DK - 28.59 Tomas Satoransky FD - $5700 DK - $5200 Opponent - TOR Proj Pts FD - 28.58 DK - 29.18 I almost included Malachi Flynn in this group as well, but I basically feel the same way about all of these middling-tier point guards. I'm not going to be thrilled to see any of them show up in lineups, but I wouldn't scrap my lineup and start over if any of them showed up in our line-up optimizer. Satoransky has Coby White nipping at his heels, and Flynn can lose minutes off the bench. That's why I'd actually prioritize Maledon here. His minutes have been all over the place thanks to OKC characteristically being involved in several blowouts, but when the Thunder keep things close he plays 35+ minutes with 30+ FanDuel points of production. Given that Cleveland is favored by just two here, I think Maledon will be a nice boost to his fantasy owners. Keep an eye on Mike Conley's status. As of this writing, there is no word that he'll sit, but given that he sat the last time the Jazz played a back to back there's reason to believe he'll sit here as well. If he does, consider Jordan Clarkson. Clarkson had 9 assists in just 20 minutes off the bench in the Jazz's blowout of Orlando, and could be in line for a...
