Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 10/1/15 Well - things are winding down for this regular season. A lot of playoff spots are secure, a lot of awful players have been called up for September, and here we are - just trying to figure out what the heck is going to happen on a day to day basis. Thursday happens to be quite a large daily fantasy baseball slate, so I'll go ahead and give you a play for the early slate, and then a couple of plays in the late slate for each position. If you want the rest? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft - it works for NFL as well, so don't be shy! Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial A quick note: It's the end of the year, which means that you really have no idea who is going to play, and who isn't. This is based on a best guess, but inevitably some or all of these picks will be sitting for reasons known or unknown. Make sure to check probable starting lineups before you actually lock yours in, and for the love of God, don't play full-day slates. Pitchers Early Slate Jerad Eickhoff - FD 6100 DK 8800 StarsDraft Opponent- Nym (Stauffer) R Park- @Phi Lord knows I spend enough time bragging about my awesome picks, so let me take a refreshing break for you: I couldn't have been more wrong about Jerad Eickhoff. While he's still out-performing his peripherals, it seems like the gains he's made in the last couple of seasons have been legit. He's an excellent control guy, and he has enough stuff to put up a decent strike-out game as well. Today he'll face the Mets, who have nothing to play for - as evidenced by the fact that Tim Stauffer will be taking the mound. Given the other options early (and the likelihood of Price getting pulled early), I think Eickhoff actually makes a fine play in any format. Late Slate Jose Fernandez - FD 10900 DK 11200 StarsDraft Opponent- TB (Odorizzi) R Park- @TB The runaway favorite for our projection system for late slate cash games. Fernandez has been an improved version of his old dominant self through 10 starts this season - posting a 10.71 K/9 against just 2.15 BB/9. In spite of the innings being very limited, he's still averaged 13.4 FanDuel fantasy points per game, and his 2.71 xFIP would be a top 5 figure if he had enough...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/23/15 Well, it's Wednesday, and I have a couple of pieces of great news for you: 1) For those of you that wrote in - No, I am not dead. I just almost died due to dehydration while writing the picks last night. 2) I will be going on vacation for a few days, so those of you who love Doug will get to read oh so much of him while I'm gone! 3) The dead money in the DFS sites continues to pour in thanks to the loves NFL, so let's get to giving you some big value daily fantasy baseball plays. 4) If you'd like, you can go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Max Scherzer - FD 11000 DK 12400 StarsDraft Opponent- Bal (Tillman) R Park- @Was So much damned juicy big named pitching tonight, it's hard to know where to begin. Max gets the nod for me, well, because our projection system likes him best. But the reasons it like him best are probably what are interesting to you, so here goes. The Orioles are actually quite tough on right handed pitching, so this might not be what you'd call the safest play ever, but they also come with a lot of built in upside for opposing pitchers due to their huge strikeout rate. Their 23% strikeout percentage against right handed pitching is the 3rd highest in the majors, and you can believe that number will be higher when Max attacks. You know what you're getting in Scherzer by now - the majors' 4th highest K/9 and the 10th best xFIP, AND the third lowest walk rate in the majors. Throw in a nice match-up with the late Chris Tillman, and we're all systems go on this one. Corey Kluber - FD 10100 DK 12300 StarsDraft Opponent- Min (Hughes) R Park- @Min Kluber is a really solid 1a. option to the Big Scherz tonight. Kluber actually has a better xFIP than Scherzer, but he gives a little back fantasy-wise with a lower K/9 and a slightly higher BB/9. You could even argue that Kluber has the better match-up, here. He'll face the Twins, who have the 8th highest K rate, but the 5th lowest wOBA against righties. I think you could make a very strong case that this is the safer play, but I don't think he has quite the upside Scherzer does. Still, if you wanted to...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/22/15 There's really nothing like Tuesday MLB daily fantasy baseball contests. All of the NFL money finds its way into baseball contests - guys who know football, but mostly know they want to get even after a weekend loss. This is the time for sharks to circle. Tuesday's a nice big slate, but it's made very interesting by a decided lack of top tier pitching. This means lots of guys to pick from today, and a sea of possible options to wade through. No reason to be overwhelmed by the choice - let's dive in to it. Ready to see the projections that inform our daily picks columns? Go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers While lots of bad pitching makes choosing hitters a little bit easier, it obviously makes choosing pitchers tough as well. It's interesting today because I can't really recommend guys outside a very narrow price window. That said - let's do this. Danny Salazar - FD 9100 DK 11100 StarsDraft Opponent- Min (Santana) R Park- @Min I'll give you the biggest upside guy first. A quick glance at Salazar's game log tells you most of what you need to know about him. He's got some huge games - even against great hitting teams like the Blue Jays (7 IP, 10 Ks, 1 BB, 2 ER, W) and Yankees (7.1 IP, 8 Ks, 5 BB, 1 ER, W), and some truly horrible games as well. In that way, it's kinda hard to know which Salazar you're going to get from night to night. And... this sort of makes him perfect for deployment in a big tournament. Tonight's match-up with the Twins should raise Salazar's floor somewhat. They've struck out at the 8th highest rate vs. right handed pitching this year, and managed the AL's worst wOBA against northpaws. He's also got a nice match-up with Ervin Santana, who appears to be back to normal after his 2 game black-out to greatness. I get it if you like Ross better for safety, but I'm very tempted to just roll with Salazar everywhere. Tyson Ross - FD 9100 DK 10600 StarsDraft Opponent- SF (Heston) R Park- @Sd I've written up Ross so many times this season that it's starting to get old hat for me, but I've gotta give you the best plays, so here you go. Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way - the Giants...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/21/15

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/21/15 After an insane football weekend, I have to be real with you for a second - it feels good to kick back, watch some Seahawks/Packers, and write up a nice, short slate. Long time readers of Daily Fantasy Sports Rankings know that we actually love small slates. Fewer choices mean the difference in choosing the best guy or the third best guy is a lot bigger than it would be on a full weekend slate, and this pushes the advantage sharply toward the expert players. Even on a short slate like this, though, we'll never be able to nail every single reasonable play. If you want maximum diversity for your lineups tomorrow, go ahead and get access to the exclusive projection system that produces these picks. Sign up now and get a free 3 day trial to our lineup construction tool for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft. And while MLB and NFL season overlap, they're all available to you at one low price! Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Gio Gonzalez - FD 9600 DK 9600 StarsDraft Opponent- Bal (Jimenez) R Park- @Was There are three true aces going today, and none of them are Gio Gonzalez. "Why," you might be wondering, "aren't they listed atop these pitcher rankings instead?" I'll give you the short of it - they all have pretty awful match-ups. If I had to choose between Price, Keuchel, and Archer, our projection system seems to like Dallas Keuchel best. I may wind up doing that in cash games, if I like how the rest of lineup comes together around the pitcher position. But for the most part, I'm going to start by building lineups around Gio Gonzalez. The fiery Nationals left-hander has been fairly erratic this season, but recently, we've gotten a heavy dose of good Gio. He's got 26 Ks and 9 walks in 18 September innings this season, and two 20+ FanDuel fantasy point performances in there as well. That doesn't necessarily outweigh a season of generally sucking, but our projection system weighs more heavily who it thinks Gio is rather than who he's been recently, and it still likes him best among the more expensive guys. The main reason is his match-up. The Orioles have the 3rd highest strikeout rate and the 6th lowest wOBA in the majors against left handed pitching, largely on the back of the fact that their biggest bats (Davis and Jones) have rather large platoon splits the other way. This one might feel more like a tournament play, but I'll start by building 50/50 lineups around him as well. Jason Hammel - FD...

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/20/15

Daily Fantasy MLB Baseball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and Starsdraft 9/20/15 If you're here, you're either a guy (or gal!) who can't get enough action in on a football Sunday, or you're a daily fantasy baseball diehard. Or you're both, like me. Still, we have a lot of football prep going on here (we're mostly preparing for another huge overlay on DraftPot), so today's article will be a little briefer than some others. Still, I'll give you a few great plays at each position that you can build around, and of course you can always grab a free three day trial of our projection system for FanDuel & DraftKings that offers projections for every player for both MLB and the NFL. Click here for a free 3 Day Free Trial Pitchers Stephen Strasburg - FD 10700 DK 10400 StarsDraft Opponent- Mia (Nicolino) L Park- @Was Regular DFSR readers will know that we've been on Strasburg ever since he returned from injury and it was clear that his peripherals were returning to pre-injury levels. That's worked out well in the last two starts. Unfortunately, really regular readers will recall that I recommended Strasburg against these same Marlins a couple of weeks ago, and it was a disaster. That's baseball, folks. It's not always going to work out. On the whole, Strasburg has been absolutely lights out in August and September (a 10.58 K/9 in August, and a ridiculous 15.85 K/9 in September). And the fact remains, the Marlins have still been the very worst team in the majors against right handed pitching this season, sporting a league worst .292 wOBA when facing a righty. And, blessedly, he'll be up against the terrible Justin Nicolino (more on him coming later, rest assured), which means a win is even more likely than usual. Love Stras in any format on these prices, to be honest. Huge gap Listen - it's really tough to imagine going away from Stras today for safety purposes. There are a few fliers you could take - it thinks CC Sabathia has some upside against the Mets, for instance, and thinks you might be able to roll the dice on Julio Teheran, but those are strictly big tournament plays from where I'm sitting. If you want to go against the grain in the big money department, though, there is one somewhat interesting match-up... Jon Lester - FD 10700 DK 10300 StarsDraft Opponent- Stl (Martinez) R Park- @Chc Carlos Martinez - FD 9500 DK 9300 StarsDraft Opponent- CHC (Lester) L Park- @ChC Our system actually kinda likes both of these today, for different reasons. For Martinez, it's pretty much just an upside play. The Cubs are in the top half...
