CIMB Classic The second event of the new season takes the PGA Tour to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the CIMB Classic. It is a small, no-cut event with 78 players in the field including 10 spots reserved for the top Asian players in the world. TPC Kuala Lumpur is definitely not one of the most challenging courses as a 7,005 yard, Par 72 setup with easy to hit fairways and greens. One thing to note about the course is that it went through a renovation since last year that saw the green surfaces converted from Paspalum to TifEagle Bermuda and will run a lot firmer than previous years. The winner over the last three years has shot into the -20's and the average score over the last five years is -21. There will be a ton of birdies(average of over 1300 over the last three years) putting a ton of emphasis on Strokes Gained: Approach and Birdie or Better % which will be easily my top two stats this week. With that said, let's take a look at the rolling report in each of those stat categories coming into this week(via Fantasy National Golf Club). Safeway Open The short PGA Tour offseason is over and it's to reset the FedEx Cup points, introduce some new names coming from the Web.com Tour, and start grinding another DFS golf season. To kick things off, the players will head to Napa, California for the Safeway Open at Silverado Resort and Spa(North Course). Like most of these fall events, the field is definitely on the weaker side as only two of the Top 25(Mickelson-24 & Cantlay-22) and 22 of the Top 100 players in the World are teeing it up this week. This means some inflated prices for some players who you would use to be a lot cheaper towards the end of the season. The key to these events is finding the right players in the mid to low tiers who are either rookies coming from the Web.com Tour or just young players in general who are coming in with some form and fit the course. Looking at the course, Silverado has narrow, tree-lined fairways which put emphasis on Strokes Gained: Off the Tee and those who are more accurate should have an advantage in hitting more greens. With the field averaging around 50%-55% fairways hit and around 65% greens in regulation hit over the last four years(via Future of Fantasy Golfanac), I will also be looking closely at Good Drive % this week. Ball Striking form is what I am looking at the most coming into this week and the Approach side of that is what I concentrate on a little more than off the tee when weighing them in my model. Finally, I always have Par 5 Scoring ahead of Par 4 scoring on Par 72 courses, especially here as abotu 40% of all birdies made come from those four holes. With all that said, let's take a look at the course breakdown below and then get into the...
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – Tour Championship
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – Tour Championship DFSR is proud to bring you, Chris Durell. Tour Championship It has been a very long season but we have finally reached the final tournament of the season. The Playoffs started with 125 players and over the last three events has been narrowed down to the final 30 who will not only be battling for the TOUR Championship but also to become the FedEx Cup Champion and take home the 10 million dollars. Before getting into the course, I will also mention that any player inside the Top 5 of the standings(DeChambeau, Rose, Finau, Johnson, Thomas) that wins the TOUR Championship will also win the FedEx Cup. If neither of those five wins, there are a ton of different scenarios that could result in the FedEx Cup Champion. Check them out HERE. East Lake Golf Club has hosted the Tour Championship annually since 2004 and alternated with Champions Golf Club going back to 1998. It is a longer Par 70 that reaches over 7,300 yards and has narrow fairways so when breaking down Strokes Gained: Ball Striking, I will be leaning slightly to the Off the Tee metrics over the Approach metrics. Being a Par 70, there are also 12 Par 4's on the course so I will be weighing that very high as well this week. If you are a Fantasy National Golf Club member, be sure to also check out the stats for Par 4's between 450 and 500 yards as five of them fall in this range with one over 500 yards. Other than that, I will be looking at Birdie or Better % as it correlates the highest with fantasy scoring, course history as we have a lot to go off, and most importantly current form. With that said, let's jump into the picks. The Course East Lake Golf Club - Atlanta, GA Par 70 - 7,346 Yards Greens - Bermuda...

BMW Championship Welcome back golf fans. The FedEx Cup Playoffs continue this week as the field has been narrowed down to the final 70 golfers as they head to the second last event of the season, the BMW Championship. The course at this event rotates and will be hosted at Aronimink Golf Club this time around and it has not been used on Tour since the 2010(Nick Watney won at -13) and 2011(Justin Rose won at -10) AT&T National events. Using those events as a reference won't be of too much help this week as the course took on a big restoration that started in 2016 by Gil Hanse and saw the fairways widened out with more than 100 bunkers added and the other big change was green sizes being increased. I will be concentrating on Strokes Gained: Approach with emphasis on Proximity as my top stat this week as the fairways hit % should be high. I am thinking the winning score also goes lower than those previous two events here so I will also be looking heavily at Birdie or Better %. Being a Par 70 with 12 par 4's puts emphasis on that as well and if using Fantasy National Golf Club, be sure to look at the Par 4 Scoring from 400-450 yards as seven of the 12 come in that range. With all that said, let's take a look at the course and then break down some of the top picks for this week. The Course Aronimink Golf Club - Newton Square, PA Par 70 - 7,190 Yards Greens - Bentgrass **Click pic above to see a hole by hole breakdown over at PGATour.com** Top Stats in the Model Strokes Gained: Approach Proximity(mid-range) Par 4 Scoring with emphasis on 400-450 yards Birdie or Better % One little note before jumping into the article....

Dell Technologies Championship Welcome back golf fans. After Bryson DeChambeau closed out the deal on Sunday at The Northern Trust, the PGA Tour Playoffs roll on as the Top 100 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings head to the Dell Technologies Championship. The first note about the field is that Francesco Molinari and Rickie Fowler will not be in the field this week reducing the field to 98 players. With a smaller field and a cut line of the Top 70 and ties at least 71% of the golfers in the field will make the cut this week. Keep in mind that this changes our cash game strategy a bit as just making the cut likely won't be enough for your 6/6 lineups to cash this week and we will need some top finishes. This event, since the beginning of the FedEx Cup Playoffs in 2007, has been hosted at TPC Boston on the Labour Day weekend and is the only event with a Monday finish. This gives us an extra day to tinker with lineups as lineup lock will come early Friday morning. The course is a Par 71 setup that stretches out to 7,342 yards and has tree-lined fairways and Bentgrass greens. With the introduction of the Playoffs, the course was redesigned and "Chocolate Drop Mounds" were added to rough complexes in driving zones which adds some difficulty for players missing the fairways. The fairways are on the easier side of average to hit but the greens are slightly smaller than average(via Future of Fantasy Golfanac) so when looking at Strokes Gained: Ball Striking, I will have more weight on the Approach shots than Off the Tee. Looking at past course conditions(via Fantasy National), we can see that the Bentgrass greens are not only small but undulated and play very fast so it won't...
