Because of this, I have overall SG: Off the Tee as a core stat this week but if deciding between two players, I do lean accuracy over distance If looking closer at the bombers who are less accurate, another stat that stands out is Good Drive % which helps identify those players who still hit greens in regulation when missing fairways Strokes Gained: Approach A strong iron game is always high on the priority list and especially at this Pete Dye setup with much smaller-than-average greens When looking at Proximity ranges, the 125-150 and 150-175 yard ranges have seen more than Tour average approaches. We have also seen about an average amount of approaches from 200+ yards but this is more of a range I will use when analyzing shorter hitters off the tee Par 4 Scoring With just two Par 5's and 12 par 4's on this Par 70 setup, Par 4 scoring becomes very important and has shown about double the correlation in recent years Eight of the 12 Par 4's fall between 400-450 yards which makes looking closely at the range a great idea(I use FNGC for these specific ranges) Birdie or Better % With the winning score reaching -17 or better in four of the last five years birdies are...

The Course Previous Five Canadian Open Winners 2022 - Rory McIlroy 2019 - Rory McIlroy 2018 - Dustin Johnson 2017 - Jhonattan Vegas 2016 - Jhonattan Vegas Top Targets Justin Rose World Golf Ranking (#28) Vegas Odds (18/1) DraftKings ($9,700) FanDuel ($11,100) I am taking a risk fading Rory this week and leaning towards a more balanced build and it starts with Justin Rose who is #1 in my model. He comes in with four straight Top 25 finishes led by some elite iron play as he has gained a whopping 12.2 strokes on approach over just the last two events(Charles Schwab, PGA Champ) alone. Over the last 24 rounds, he ranks(in this field) 2nd in SG: Approach, 9th/5th in Proximity from 175-200 & 200+ yards, 3rd in Par 4 scoring, 9th in par 5 scoring, and 8th in birdie or better. While he is not elite at finding the fairway(45th in FW gained L24) you combine it with elite iron play, above-average around the green and putting, and he makes for a nice fit this week. Matt Kuchar World Golf Ranking (#51) Vegas Odds (40/1) DraftKings ($9,100) FanDuel ($9,900) It has been a wild ride for Kuchar in the short-term(T62, MC, T43 last three events) but he checks a lot of boxes this week and cannot be ignored North of the border. While on different courses and never here at Oakdale, Kuchar has had success in Canada making the cut in seven of his last eight trips including five Top 10 finishes. Statistically, he profiles well for this positional course as he is accurate off the tee and despite some wild swings in the iron play, is an elite scrambler(2nd in SG ATG in this field) and very good putter. I am expecting at least a Top 25 from Kuchhhhhhhh this week! Michael Kim World Golf...

He has not only won here twice(2021, 2019) but has finished 7th or better five of his last six trips and is easily ranked #1 in Strokes Gained: Total and Strokes Gained: Tee to Green in the course history model. In terms of current form, Cantlay hasn't won since the BMW Championship last fall but has made 11 of 12 cuts since then with six Top 10's including last week at the PGA Championship. If you are not playing multi-entry this week, narrowing down the top tier is very difficult and as of now Cantlay is my favourite of that group. Kevin Streelman World Golf Ranking (#141) Vegas Odds (150/1) DraftKings ($6,700) FanDuel ($7,800) As with every elevated event with softer pricing, we get tons of viable value plays that stand out in one area or another. Streelman is one that stands out in multiple areas starting with his Top 10 rank in my course history model. Despite missing the cut here last year, had made the cut in eight straight trips prior with three top 10's and six top 25 finishes. More good news as he comes in with excellent form in May coming off a T9 at the Charles Schwab Challenge and T18 at the Wells Fargo. He checks a lot of...

He comes in with four straight Top 15 finishes at a major going back to last year's T13 at the PGA Championship and X also ranks 5th in this field making 90% of his cuts at majors going back to the start of 2018. He also comes in with elite form coming off three straight Top 10's at the Wells Fargo(elevated event), RBC Heritage(elevated event), and the Masters(major). At a price under $10K on DraftKings, Xander is my favourite golfer to start a balanced build with this week. Scottie Scheffler World Golf Ranking (#2) Vegas Odds (8/1) DraftKings ($11,200) FanDuel ($12,000) If paying right up, we have a tough decision between Rahm, Rory, and Scheffler and while I will probably have exposure to all three in some way but it's Scheffler who stands out the most. This is mainly due to the extreme consistency he has shown entering the week with not just 14 straight cuts made but during that stretch, he has reeled off two wins(WMPO, PLAYERS) and finished 12th or better in 13 of those events with seven Top...
