Holmes(-14) This week the PGA Tour heads back to Quail Hollow Club for the Wells Fargo Championship for the first time since 2019 after last years event was canceled due to the pandemic. A very strong field including seven of the Top 10 in the World will take on the beast that is Quail Hollow Club. It has ranked Top 10 hardest courses on Tour(including majors) in three straight and four of the last five times it has hosted this event. I say that because in 2017 it was Eagle Point hosting the event while Quail Hollow prepared for the PGA Championship. The first thing that jumps off the page when looking at the Par 71 setup is the 7,600 yards listed on the scorecard meaning you best be wearing your big boy pants this week if you seek to contend. Looking at the last two Wells Fargo Championships(2019, 2018) only two players who finished Top 10 averaged under 300 yards off the tee, and those who finished Top 5 averaged just over 312 yards off the tee. When breaking down Strokes Gained: Ball Striking, Driving Distance is right up there this week. Not only do you need to be long off the tee but you better be good with the long irons as well with three of the four Par 3's coming in over 200 yards including the monster 249 yard 6th hole. That leads into some of the hardest Par 4's on Tour with eight over 450 yards, five over 480 yards, and three over 500!! Strokes...

The Course Innisbrook Resort(Copperhead Course) Par 71 - 7,340 Yards Greens - Bermuda **Click the image above to see a hole by hole breakdown from PGATour.com** Previous Five Winners 2019 - Paul Casey(-8) 2018 - Paul Casey(-10) 2017 - Adam Hadwin(-14) 2016 - Charl Schwartzel(-7) 2015 - Jordan Spieth(-10) This week the PGA Tour returns to Florida and heads to Innisbrook Resort for the Valspar Championship. The event had been played annually at Innisbrook going back to the year 2000 until last year when it was canceled due to COVID-19. This year's field is loaded at the top led four of the Top 10 in the World Golf Rankings including #1 Dustin Johnson and #2 Justin Thomas. Back in the Florida Swing means another tough test as Innisbrook Resort has ranked as a Top 10 hardest course five times in six years from 2014 to 2019 and ranked #6 four times. To put that into perspective, those rankings also include the four majors. The difficulty comes with a combination of small tree-lined fairways, doglegs forcing landing zones off the tee, tougher rough than we have seen lately, and very small greens(5,800 avg sq ft). Looking at the last five trips here, the field has averaged under 60% in both fairways hit and greens in regulation. This puts a huge emphasis on Strokes Gained: Ball Striking and that is, by far, my top stat in my long-term and short-term models this week. With small greens and low GIR numbers, I will also be looking at Scrambling/Strokes Gained: Around the Green as those who can save par from off the green more often are going...

Pan(-12) 2018 - Satoshi Kodaira(-12) 2017 - Wesley Bryan(-13) 2016 - Branden Grace(-9) It was another incredible Masters finish that saw Hideki Matsuyama capture his first major championship but it wasn't without drama. After a rain delay on Saturday, Hideki came out firing and finished the back 9 with just 30 strokes giving himself a four-stroke lead going into Sunday. His first of the day went into the trees leading to a bogey but he rebounded quick with a birdie on the next hole and while the lead had shrunk to two strokes a few times he went into eh final hole needing just a bogey to capture the Green Jacket. He needed every shot as he missed a short par putt but either way, got the job done. This week the PGA Tour rolls into Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Harbour Town Golf Links for the 2021 RBC Heritage. The event returns to its annual April date after being played in late June a year ago due to the new COVID scheduling. The field is loaded at the top with five(DJ, Morikawa, Hatton, Webb, Cantlay) of the World's Top 10 golfers and has 28 of the Top 50 in the World teeing it up this week. Harbour Town GL is a Pete Dye design which, like last week, puts emphasis on precision and accuracy much more than distance. It shows in the results as each...

Making it even better this time around is the fact this is the second trip to Augusta National in the last five months but unlike November, there will be patrons to cheer on this elite field. Every one of the Top 50 players in the World is teeing up this week with the news that Brooks Koepka is going to give it a try after dealing with an injury. As it should be, Augusta National Golf Club is annually one of the toughest tests on Tour ranking 11th, 16th, 7th, 2nd, and 3rd hardest over the last five years. It's a long Par 72 setup that stretches out over 7,400 yards. The fairways may be wide and see above-average driving accuracy in relation to other events but the real challenge comes on the approach to these very undulated and fast greens with natural run-offs that can really get you into trouble. Not only do you need to be on point with your irons to have a shot at birdie opportunities but you also need to have a strong scrambling/around the green game as to not hemorrhage strokes to the field. Let's now take a look at the scorecard, previous winners, breakdown of the key stats, and then get into the core plays. While it's still a week away, it is impossible to ignore the excitement that is building for The Masters, the second in four months. Before we get too excited, however, we have to break down the Valera Texas Open which will give any golfer not already in the Masters a chance to punch his ticket to Augusta. The field of 144 players was looking pretty grim until we got a late entry from Dustin Johnson after not advancing past the group stage last week at the Match Play. With his entry, DJ is now the only player ranked inside the Top 10 teeing it up this week, and is joined by just 12 others who rank among the Top 50 in the OWGR. **Update - Dustin Johnson has withdrawn** They will take on the TPC San Antonio Oaks Course which has been the host course for this event since the 2010 season. It is a par 72 setup that is listed at over 7,400 yards on the scorecard. A large amount of that distance comes from three of the four Par 3's reaching over 200 yards and three of the four Par 5's reaching over 591 yards(two over 600 yards). The biggest defense for the course outside of the native areas(see Kevin Na) are the Texas winds. They were a non-factor in 2019 and 2019 when Corey Conners and Andrew Landry won with winning scores of -20 and -17 respectively but before that, we have normally seen a winning score in the -8 to -12 range due to the wind. That is what I am expecting looking at the early forecast as...
