START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterback Matthew Stafford FD 7500 DK 6600 Opponent MIN Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Stafford's situation is actually pretty complicated right now. He hasn't had a positive COVID test, but was around people who did. He can still theoretically be activated for Sunday's game, but we won't know until Sunday. His status is pretty important for potential cash game options TJ Hockenson and Marvin Jones Jr., both of whom become unplayable if Stafford doesn't suit up here. Gardner Minshew II FD 7000 DK 5800 Opponent HOU Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Minshew has already been ruled out of the Jags' game against the Texans, leaving an already bad offense without their starting quarterback. Perhaps this leaves extra touches for James Robinson? Robinson isn't priced for cash game consideration, though, and this move should really only impact your big tournament lineups (if that). Jake Luton is not playable. Running Back Christian McCaffrey FD 9500 DK 8500 Opponent KC Proj Points FD - 17 DK - 18.69 Well, this is news! Everyone's RB1 heading into the year looks to be returning for the Panthers' tilt against the Chiefs, which should at the very least excite season-long fantasy owners. For DFS purposes, though, I'm not sure how much we should read into this. The Panthers are 10.5 point underdogs, and Davis has been reasonable in McCaffrey's absence. Adding all these factors together has me wanting to leave C-Mac on the shelf, and I'll be closely monitoring how he is used here to see if I should consider him in future weeks. Ezekiel Elliott FD 8000 DK 6600 Opponent PIT Proj Points FD - 13.44 DK - 14.84 Zeke was limited in practice throughout the week, and there is interesting phrasing around his status, which suggests that his "workload" is a gametime decision. That's a red flag to the max if you're considering playing Zeke in this horrendous match-up, but also implies that you can't consider his back-ups either. Josh Jacobs FD 7700 DK 6300 Opponent LAC Proj Points FD - 16.36 DK - 18 There were questions around Jacobs' status throughout the week, but he returned from his illness on Friday and practiced. He's a reasonable big tournament play...

Injury analysis for week 8 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings

START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Running Back Dalvin Cook FD 9200 DK 7500 Opponent GB Proj Points FD - 13.55 DK - 14.55 Cook has practiced in a limited fashion this week, but the Vikings' offensive coordinator has said that he "won't need a pitch count" this weekend against the Packers. Cook is still too expensive for my tastes, even in a good match-up with Green Bay, and Mattison is still there threatening to take some of the workload. I'll be staying away from Cook this week. Aaron Jones FD 8500 DK 7300 Opponent MIN Proj Points FD - 2.09 DK - 2.48 Aaron Jones has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Vikings, and after a week of seeing how the Packers plan to approach the running game without Jones Williams seems like an automatic cash game inclusion, even at the advanced price. He paid these prices handily last week, compiling 114 total yards and a touchdown on 24 opportunities against the Texans. Perhaps more importantly, he played 55 of the 60 offensive snaps, leaving AJ Dillon as an afterthought. Don't be scared by the increase in price whatsoever. Chris Carson FD 7600 DK 6200 Opponent SF Proj Points FD - 1.85 DK - 2.26 Carlos Hyde FD 5000 DK 5300 Opponent SF Proj Points FD - 13.37 DK - 15 Right now Carson is considered questionable, and Carlos Hyde is considered doubtful for Sunday's contest with the Niners. I don't think you want to run Carson even if he's healthy, but both of these guys missing Sunday's game would carve out a huge swath of opportunity for either Travis Homer or DeeJay Dallas. Right now I'd guess it will be more of a time share, though, and with some other value opening up I don't think this is where you ultimately want to land in cash games. Joe Mixon FD 7400 DK 6300 Opponent TEN Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Mixon has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Titans, and like the Green Bay game, we know how the Bengals plan to approach this situation based on last week. Bernard was effective against the Browns, touching the ball 18 times for 96 yards and a score. He certainly warrants...

Injury analysis for week 7 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings

Injury analysis for week 7 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings Welcome to our weekly injury analysis article! It's an odd week with injuries, with a number of interesting quarterback situations leading things off. Let's have a look. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NFL and MLB optimizers and our new player lab! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! Quarterback Sam Darnold FD 6700 DK 5000 Opponent BUF Proj Points FD - 15.66 DK - 16.72 Sam Darnold appears to be poised to return to action after missing two weeks with a shoulder injury. He's not likely to be in any of my lineups in a tough match-up with the Bills, but his return has to mean good things for Jamison Crowder. We were recommending Crowder as a cash game play on FanDuel and DraftKings when we thought Flacco was going to be under center, and we like the play even more if Darnold returns. Right now Gase says Darnold will be out there barring any setbacks, so let's hope we've seen the last of playing pass-catchers that are reliant on Joe Flacco. Running Back Aaron Jones FD 8500 DK 7200 Opponent HOU Proj Points FD - 19.21 DK - 21.33 Jones was a late addition to the injury report after straining his calf on Thursday, and is officially listed as questionable after missing practice on Friday. If he were to sit, Jamaal Williams would be a fantastic cash game play at a great price in a great match-up with the Texans. Joe Mixon FD 7400 DK 6300 Opponent CLE Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Mixon has been ruled out for this weekend's game against the Browns, leaving us the chance to play Gio Bernard at sub $5k on FanDuel. He's a must play for me in any format, and should be the highest owned running back on FanDuel barring some strange news surfacing. Kareem Hunt FD 7100 DK 6800 Opponent CIN Proj Points FD - 17.58 DK - 19.22 Hunt has been limited in practice this week, but it appears to be nothing to be concerned about at this point. He is in cash game consideration for us in a nice match-up with the Bengals. Raheem Mostert FD 6500 DK 6500 Opponent NE Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Moster was ruled out for this Sunday's game against the Patriots, and while we were intrigued by Jerick McKinnon earlier this season in a similar situation, we're sort of off it this week. Last week McKinnon out-snapped Jamychal Hasty 32%-21%, leading us to believe that we're looking...

Games at risk Welcome to a new segment of the article called "games at risk," where we discuss games that might not play due to Covid-19. The joys of 2020. Earlier this week, Adam Schefter reported that the Falcons had received at least four positive tests, and that their game was in jeopardy. As the story unfolded, it turned out to be just one staff member, and on Friday the Falcons returned to practice. As of now, the Vikings vs. Falcons game looks like a go. The Colts shut down their practice facility on Friday after some unknown number of positive tests. It is not yet known how this will impact Sunday's game, but as of right now the Colts vs. Bengals game is currently at risk of not being played. We'll keep you updated as any of these situations develop. Quarterback Drew Lock FD 6700 DK 5400 Opponent NE Proj Points FD - 13.61 DK - 14.31 Cam Newton FD 8000 DK 6500 Opponent DEN Proj Points FD - 18.74 DK - 19.41 Both Cam Newton and Drew Lock are on track to return for Sunday's game against one another. Newton had an asymptomatic Covid-19 case and should be treated as exactly the same guy he was before he was sidelined, and while the Patriots aren't the most exciting DFS team, he's an interesting play in his own right. Lock is not a playable DFS option, and his return really doesn't impact our projections of the Broncos in any meaningful way. Often times getting a QB back makes a team more interesting, but we need to see more production from Lock before we make that declaration. Baker Mayfield FD 7000 DK 5700 Opponent PIT Proj Points FD - 14.45 DK - 15.47 Mayfield has been trending in the right direction throughout the week, and while he's not a play in and of himself against this brutal Steelers defense, it would bring guys like Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry into "interesting big tournament play" status. If Case Keenum starts for Mayfield I can't imagine playing either of those guys in any format. Running Back Dalvin Cook FD 9500 DK 8000 Opponent ATL Proj Points FD - 2.01 DK - 2.42 Cook has missed...

Injury analysis for week 5 of NFL DFS on FanDuel and DraftKings

Quarterback Lamar Jackson FD 8900 DK 7900 Opponent CIN Proj Points FD - 22.07 DK - 22.57 Lamar Jackson has missed back to back practices for the first time in his career, and while he should be ready for Sunday's game against the Bengals, this might be enough for me to just stay away. It's hard to imagine that the Ravens are going to take any risks with their franchise quarterback, especially when he's nursing a knee injury, and this could limit Lamar in the running game in particular. I'm staying away from the Ravens' offense as a result. Jimmy Garoppolo FD 6700 DK 5500 Opponent MIA Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Garoppolo has been trending in the right direction, practicing in a limited fashion throughout the week, but without any brace or other ankle support. To be clear, he is not a play this week regardless, but his presence might been better things for the San Francisco passing game. I have to say, though, that I don't know if it would improve our projections for George Kittle, who popped off last week in Garoppolo's absence. Update: Garoppolo will be playing this weekend. Sam Darnold FD 6600 DK 5500 Opponent ARI Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 Darnold has been ruled out this week, leaving Joe Flacco to steer the offense against the Cardinals. This is almost meaningless for DFS purposes, but deeper sleepers like Jamison Crowder become unplayable with Flacco under center. Drew Lock FD 6500 DK 5300 Opponent NE Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 It's a big week for quarterback news, with Drew Lock also potentially returning to action this week against New England. Right now it looks like Brett Rypien will be under center for the Broncos, which would take any Broncos off the table in any format, for me. If Lock were to return I'm not even sure that I'd be interested in this beat up Denver offense in a tough match-up with the Patriots. Dwayne Haskins Jr. FD 6600 DK 5100 Opponent LAR Proj Points FD - 0 DK - 0 While he's not injured, Haskins has lost the Football Team (really?) starting job going into this game against the...
