Safeway Open The Course Silverado Resort & Spa(North) - Napa, CA Par 72 - 7,203 Yards **Click to see PGATour.com Course Overview** Top Stats in the Model Strokes Gained: Off the Tee(20%) Strokes Gained: Approach(30%) Birdie or Better %(30%) Par 4 Scoring(20%) Top Course History Targets Kevin Na World Golf Ranking (#66) Vegas Odds (28/1) Draftkings ($9,400) FanDuel ($7,800) It is very likely Na will be the highest owned golfer this week(leads FanShare tags with 15) but he has everything going for him, starting with the course history. He has played here in back to back year finishing 2nd and 7th and in those eight rounds, ranks 3rd overall in DraftKings points(via Fantasy National Golf Club). He finished last season strong making it all the way to the BMW Championship and had two Top 6 finishes in his final four events with 7th most DraftKings points per tournament(in the field) over his last five events. He also crushes it statistically ranking 1st in the field in Strokes Gained: Approach, 5th in Par 4 Scoring and 12th in Birdie or Better %. He is a safe play in all formats, especially on FanDuel where he is under $8K to start the season. Brendan Steele World Golf Ranking (#59) Vegas Odds (28/1) Draftkings ($9,000) FanDuel ($8,600) Pictured above are Brendan Steele's stat rankings over the last 12 rounds at Silverado Resort & Spa(via Fantasy National Golf Club) and they are very impressive. He is top 10 in every area besides SG: ARG and has improved here each year he has played Silverado. He has finished T21, T17, and with a final round 65 last season, won the event. He did tail off at the end of the season missing four of his final seven cuts with just one Top 25 but can use a track he is comfortable with to reboot in a big way. Steele also shows up in my stats model this week as he...

That's right, one golfer will walk away with the FedEx Cup Trophy and a cool $10,000,000 to add to his bank account. There are a ton of scenarios for the 30 golfers to win the FedEx Cup this week but if you are one of the Top 5 in the standings you need to do just one thing. Win! Each of the top 5 golfers controls their own destiny. Looking at recent trends, every golfer to win the Tour Championship has won the FedEx Cup in each of the last seven years. The last time a FedEx Cup winner didn't win the Tour Championship was Tiger Woods back in 2009 who saw Phil Mickelson win the final tournament. Speaking of Tiger and Phil, this has been circulating all week and it makes me laugh every time. By 2002, even Phil was sick of hearing about all Tiger's wins. pic.twitter.com/K3lw5LZlOi — Skratch (@Skratch) September 16, 2016 For fantasy, I looked closely at the previous winners going back to 2010 and Rory Mcilroy(2016), Billy Horschel(2014), and Henrik Stenson(2013) are the only golfers with multiple wins in the playoffs of their Championship seasons. While you would think that current form would be key to winning the year-end event, it...
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel – BMW Championship

We're back. #BMWChamps pic.twitter.com/hKVmdOCZRg — BMW Championship (@BMWchamps) September 11, 2017 That's right, the BMW Championship returns this week as the field is now down to 70 with only the Top 30 moving on to East Lake next week for the Tour Championship. The tournament has alternated venues for six straight years and this year it will be held at Conway Farms Golf Club. The course has hosted this event twice, with Jason Day winning back in 2015(-22) and Zach Johnson(-16) winning in 2013. As you can see by the previous winning scores here, it should be a birdie fest. This has me weighing Birdie or Better % right behind Strokes Gained Ball Striking(OTT+APP). I also adjusted the course history on my sheet to only weigh the results from 2015 and 2013 and due to a smaller sample size spread out over five years, that weight is much lower than usual. I will be concentrating a lot more on my key stats and fantasy scoring over the last five tournaments. I will also be using the tools at Fantasy National Golf Club to help sort through the stats over the last 12, 24, and 36 rounds. Another feature I have been using a lot lately is the breakdown of the Par 3's, 4's, and 5's over a selected amount of rounds. The example below is Par 5 Efficiency over the last 12 rounds and looking to further to the right you can see those ranks by distance of the holes(this week all three Par 5's between 550-600 yards). From a fantasy perspective, we can take a few more shots this week with a stars and scrubs strategy seeing as there is no cut this week. All 70 players will get four rounds of golf so a rough start doesn't necessarily translate to "week over on Friday syndrome". I will be personally lowering my exposure to the big tournaments this week due to the...

Jordan Spieth entered the final round with a three stroke lead but had the #1 player in the world, Dustin Johnson, breathing down his neck. Through five holes on the opening nine, Spieth even extended his lead to five strokes with two early birdies but gave three strokes back before making the turn while DJ picked up a Birdie on hole nine. The back nine is where things got interesting as DJ made Birdies on hole #10, #13, and #15 while Spieth made Birdies on holes #13 and #14. They entered the 18th hole tied at -13 and when DJ missed the fairway and was forced to layup, it appeared that Spieth would go on to win. Not so fast! Spieth made his par while DJ was left with a fast 17-foot putt to force a playoff. He ended up draining it and on the first playoff hole, DJ made no mistake off the tee this time bombing a drive 340 yards followed by an on-point wedge shot that gave him a 3-foot birdie for the win. Words don't do it justice so check out the highlights from the final round before we dig into this week's event. This week the top 100(96 in the field) in the FedEx Cup standings move on to TPC Boston for the second leg of the Playoffs. We had no course history to go off last week and while the tournament name and sponsor has changed this week, the location has not. TPC Boston has been the host of this event since 2003 so we can get back to weighing the course...

That's right, the Major Championship season is over but things are just starting to heat up as the FedEx Cup Playoffs get underway this Thursday. The top 125 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings have qualified for The Northern Trust but we have just 120 in the field this week. The five golfers sitting out the first leg of the Playoffs are Sergio Garcia, Adam Scott, Brandt Snedeker(injury), Scott Piercy, and Dominic Bozzeli. While there have been some terrific storylines all season(first-time winners, rookie triumphs, Garcia's first major, etc..), one of my favorite came last week at the Wyndham Championship where Martin Flores stepped up to the tee on the Par 3 16th hole on the outside of the playoff bubble with just three holes to go. That was until this happened... This hole-in-one may just get Martin Flores into the FedEx Cup playoffs. pic.twitter.com/E9s88nbBbu — GOLFonCBS (@GOLFonCBS) August 20, 2017 He went on to Par the 17th hole and Birdie the 18th hole and enters the Playoffs as the 118th seed. What a story! For the first time, the Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury, New York will host a PGA Tour event. The course is a Par 70 that stretches out to 7,350 Yards and has Poa Annua grass on the green surfaces. While the course is new to hosting not just a PGA Tour event but the opening Playoff event, it will be setup and ready for the task as the club hired one of the best. Craig Currier was brought on back in 2010 and is not a stranger to big events as he was the superintendent at Bethpage and prepared the Black course for both...
