Sanderson Farms Championship The fall season continues with a trip to the Country Club of Jackson for the Sanderson Farms Championship. While the field is a bit stronger than last year when the event was played a month later, it is still a weak-field event(average 471 OWGR) and has seen more than one long shot winner. The course is a Par 72 setup that stretches over 7,400 yards and has ranked just outside the Top 20 in difficulty in each of the last two years. While the fairways hit % is lower than average here, the rough is not very challenging(about 2" on average) which puts a ton of importance on the iron game. This shows in the stats as well as Strokes Gained: Approach has been a major factor in players separating themselves here despite there being both bombers(Champ averaged 334 in 2018 win, Gribble averaged 312 in 2016 win) and plodders(Armour averaged 268 in 2017 win, Malnati averaged 271 in 2015 win) who have been successful here. With the driving accuracy number in the mid 50% range on average, I will also be looking at Rough Proximity in my model as well. You can see all my top stats below and in the model on the sheet, now let's get into the picks. A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier Welcome back golf fans. After a long offseason(it's actually been just two weeks) the PGA tour is back to open the 2019/20 with A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier. It is the first of many schedule changes this season to accommodate for the Olympics at the end of July/start of August. One thing hasn't changed is the field strength or lack thereof as Bryson DeChambeau is the only player inside the Top 10 and joins just six others who start the season inside the Top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings. One thing we do get with the first tournament of the season is the influx of rookies from the Korn Ferry Tour including Scottie Scheffler who topped the money list and is fully exempt this season. After a very impressive debut after turning pro last season, Viktor Hovland will also be in the field and is now a full member of the PGA Tour. The Old White TPC course has hosted the Greenbrier since 2010 so we do have some course history. When looking at the sheet you will notice 2016 is left off the list and that is because flooding destroyed the course that year to the point the Tour had to cancel the event. The course is a 7,286 yard Par 70 setup and has ranked outside the Top 25 in difficulty in each of the last four events and outside the Top 30 in difficulty(34th, 35th) in two of those four. It makes sense as looking at the last five events combined, the average winning score has been -15. The course has fairly generous fairways with the average fairways hit sitting around 65% over the last five events and even higher for those who made the cut. This automatically hoists Strokes Gained: Approach to the top of my stats...
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – BMW Championship
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – BMW Championship Chris will be bringing you weekly PGA picks, analysis, and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings and FanDuel. BMW Championship After Patrick Reed won The Northern Trust to open the FedEx Cup Playoffs, the PGA Tour now heads to Medinah Country Club which will host the BMW Championship. With the new three-event format, the field is now down to 70 players who will battle it out to make the Top 30 and the Tour Championship at East Lake. This is the first trip to Medinah CC for the PGA Tour since the 2012 Ryder Cup. It also hosted the 2006 and 1999 PGA Championship's which were both won by none other than Tiger Woods. He withdrew last week with a "mild" oblique strain but is back in the field this week sitting at #38 in standings. He will be looking for a good performance to get back to East Lake where he broke through with a win after a very long recovery and comeback to the Tour. Medinah Country Club's No.3 Course will play as a Par 72 coming in at 7,613 yards on the scorecard. That's right, for those of you(myself included) who forget the course it is a beast. Off the tee, golfers will see fairways that are heavily protected by bunkers in key landing areas combined with knarly Kentucky Bluegrass rough(4" second cut rough) that can create problems and forced layups. You not only need to be long off the tee but also accurate(Total Driving/SG: Off the Tee). There are also a ton of doglegs on the course creating blind shots and over half of those are right to left(draw for righties, fade for lefties). On the approach, golfers will be looking at smaller than average green complexes that are very well protected by bunkers and many of the greens are elevated adding to the challenge. On top of SG: Approach/Proximity being a key stat, it also makes sense to look at SG: Around the Green with some Sand...
Daily Fantasy PGA Picks and Betting Guide for DraftKings & FanDuel – The Northern Trust

The Northern Trust The long grind of the PGA Tour regular season is now over and the Top 125 players will now battle it out in a three-week, three-event showdown for the Tour Championship crown and a $15,000,000 payday. Before getting into this week's breakdown and picks, let's quickly go over the format for the FedEx Cup Playoffs which have been tweaked in 2019. First of all, the Playoffs have been moved up a month and with the combination of moving to three events instead of four, the season will wrap up by the end of August this season. This likely has some correlation to the Olympics coming next season which has pushed the Fall season to 11 events starting in September(eight this year). The Top 125 make the Northern Trust this week with the Top 70 in the standings making the BMW Championship next week and the Top 30 making the Tour Championship. The other big change is the somewhat simplification of the Tour Championship structure. Win the tournament and you are the FedEx Cup champion. It's that simple and no more multiple leaderboards to track. The only funky part of the new structure is the bonus scores that golfers will receive depending on their place in the standings. Enter the Tour Championship in 1st and you start the event with a score of -10, 2nd starts at -8 and so on with 26th-30th starting at even par. A complete breakdown can be found on the PGA Tour website. It all starts this week with The Northern Trust and the frist trip back to Liberty National Golf Club since the 2013 and 2009 Barclay's which also opened the Playoffs those seasons. The course will play almost the same as in 2013 but will be a Par 71 this time around with some length added as well. Looking at the stats from the...

Wyndham Championship With just one week left in the regular season, the PGA Tour heads to Sedgefield Country Club for the Wyndham Championship. For those golfers outside the Top 125 in the FedEx Cup standings, it will be their final opportunity to play their way into the Northern Trust next week. For reference, I have added the FedEx Cup rankings to the sheet. Sedgefield CC is a Donald Ross designed Par 70 that is just over 7,100 yards. Off the tee, golfers will see narrow fairways with risk-reward options on some holes in terms of how much you want to challenge the water/creeks. This, as designed by Ross, puts a ton of emphasis on not only hitting the fairway but positioning yourself for a clear approach shot. After a strong mix of ball striking stats in my model, I will be adding some scrambling and a lot of weight to birdie or better % as the average winning score has been -20 over the last five years. For Par 4 scoring, I will be looking at the 400-450 yard range as eight of the 12 holes fall into this distance range. There are only two Par 5's on the course but they are, by far, the easiest holes on the course and with a ton of eagles made on these holes, I will be looking at Par 5 Birdie or Better % not just Par 5 scoring. With that, let's jump in and look at some course info and trends and then some core plays in each price range.
