GOALIE Braden Holtby FD - $8600 DK - $8300 Opponent - OTT Proj Pts FD - 20.97 DK - 5.24 Holtby has definitely not had his best season(21-16-4, .908 save %) but has everything in his favor tonight putting him at the top of the projections tonight. It starts with being a -300 favorite facing a Senators team that just finished trading away their three top scoring forwards in Mark Stone, Ryan Dzingel, and Matt Duchene. After five straight starts on the road, Holtby will get a home start where he and the Caps have been slightly better on the season. This is a smash spot for the Caps so I am willing to take the risk with an underperforming goalie who is a proven #1 option and will be using him in all formats tonight. Curtis McElhinney FD - $8200 DK - $7900 Opponent - LA Proj Pts FD - 21.53 DK - 5.38 The goalie you are likely to see in 100% of lineups on our optimizer is McElhinney as he is actually projected for more raw points and comes at a $400 discount on both sites. He has also been playing at an elite level lately coming off a shutout of the stars and has won five of his last six and eight of his last 10 starts while posting a .922 save %. Tonight, he and the Canes are big -240 home favorites against a Kings team that has dropped eight straight and will be playing on a back to back and third game in four nights, all on the road. Fire up McElhinney in all formats. CENTERS Dylan Larkin FD - $7500 DK - $6900 Opponent - MON Proj Pts FD - 17.39 DK - 5 For an offense that ranks outside the Top 25 on the season, I sure love turning to Larkin in fantasy and will again tonight. Over his last 10 games, he has tallied 12 points and leads the team with 61 points on the...
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 2/21/19
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 2/21/19 Welcome back hockey fans. Thursday brings us a huge 11 game slate and I will be switching up the way I go about the article. I will be writing up two to three goalie options to consider and breaking down some teams and situations to consider rather than just two players at each position. This allows me to touch on more plays overall. As always, don't forget to check out our projections system and lineup optimizer. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NHL optimizer! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! First time with NBA? GOALIE Andrei Vasilevskiy FD - $9500 DK - $8300 Opponent - BUF Proj Pts FD - 21.28 DK - 5.32 After the last few nights where we have had to deal with sub-par options in goal or good goalies in bad matchups, it feels like kind of a relief to write up Vasilevskiy. The Lightning are the most complete team in the league as they are dominant across the board ranking 1st in offense, 5th in defense, 1st in powerplay, and 2nd in penalty kill. On top of that, they have an elite goalie in Vasilevskiy who comes in after allowing just one goal in his last three games and has won five straight and seven of his last 10 games while posting a .944 save % with three shutouts while facing 31.9 shots per game. Tonight he gets a terrific matchup as a -265 home favorite against a struggling Sabers team that has lost three straight and four of their last five games while scoring just nine goals. Fire up Vasilevskiy in all formats. Pekka Rinne FD - $8400 DK - $8400 Opponent - LA Proj Pts FD - 20.61 DK - 5.15 We are blessed with two elite goalies tonight as the defending Vezina Trophy winner is in a great spot and comes at a big discount on FanDuel if you need the savings. He has been inconsistent at times this year and sits with just an average.916 save % overall but has looked sharp lately winning back to back games while stopping 70 of 74 shots. He and the Preds have been much better on home ice and that is where he will be tonight as a -220 favorite facing a Kings team that has dropped five straight and rank 29th in road offense scoring just 2.2 goals per game. I think Rinne makes a nice GPP pivot off...
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 2/19/19
Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings 2/19/19 Welcome back hockey fans. We have another exciting night of DFS hockey on tap with nine games on the schedule including seven of the bottom 10 defenses. Let's dig in and take a look at some of the top plays at each position and make sure to check out our projection system and optimizer tool. Now’s your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NHL optimizer! Get started for free by clicking the button below. START YOUR FREE TRIAL NOW! First time with NBA? GOALIE Curtis McElhinney FD - $8200 DK - $7900 Opponent - NYR Proj Pts FD - 18.99 DK - 4.75 Buckle up ladies and gents! If you thought goalie has been a mess a lately, starting off with McElhinney probably won't shock you. Looking at the landscape of the position Matt Murray and Pekka Rinne have come down to Earth lately and both play on the road tonight, Andre Vasilevskiy will be taking a seat as the Bolts are on a back to back on the road and while Devan Dubnyk is in a great spot at home vs. Anaheim, he has been terrible lately. That leaves us Curtis McElhinney who will never be in the conversation as one of the league's elite goalies but has a lot going for him tonight. He has been terrific lately winning eight of his last 10 starts with a .923 save % while facing 30 shots per game. He and the Canes are also -210 home favorites tonight against a rebuilding Rangers team that has struggled on the road(10-16-2) and rank 22nd in overall offense on the season. All things considered, McElhinney is my top goalie tonight in all formats. Carter Hart FD - $8400 DK - $7500 Opponent - TB Proj Pts FD - 12.78 DK - 3.19 Kevin Boyle FD - $7200 DK - $7200 Opponent - MIN Proj Pts FD - 11.14 DK - 2.79 From a GPP perspective, you can almost go in any direction tonight but I am very intrigued by these youngsters having great starts to their careers. Carter Hart has won nine of his last 10 starts and through his first 20 starts already has 13 wins while posting an impressive .924 save%. The matchup is not great as the league's #1 team travels to Philly tonight but he should be very low owned, face a ton of shots, and have some win potential given the Bolts are running out their backup goalie, Louis Domingue. Kevin Boyle...

GOALIE Jaroslav Halak FD - $8400 DK - $8100 Opponent - ANA Proj Pts FD - 15.01 DK - 3.75 The goalie options are very limited on this small slate but the one who stands out above the rest is Jaroslav Halak who has already been confirmed. He is coming off a huge win against the Avs in which he saved 35 of 36 shots he faced pushing his save % up to .921 on the season. He now faces a Ducks team that has fallen off the map recently losing 19 of their last 22 games while averaging under two goals per game. All things considered, Halak is my top goalie in all formats tonight. Also Consider: Alex Stalock or Devan Dubnyk(MIN) in GPP formats against a Devils team that is playing on a back to back and third game in four nights and have struggled on the road all season CENTERS Jack Eichel FD - $8000 DK - $7600 Opponent - NYR Proj Pts FD - 16.35 DK - 4.79 An upper-body injury held Eichel out of three games at the start of January and while he was held off the scoresheet in his first three games back, he has been red-hot since. He comes into tonight with points in nine of his last 10 games with three multi-point efforts pushing him over the 60 point threshold for the second straight season. Eichel also provides a high floor for cash games with an 11.7 shots/60 and 18.5 iCorsi/60 on the season and faces a Ranger team that ranks 30th in road defense allowing four goals per game. Eichel will be a building block for me tonight in all formats. Stack with: Jeff Skinner, Jason Pominville Sebastian Aho FD - $7300 DK - $7300 Opponent - EDM Proj Pts FD - 16.5 DK - 4.77 Aho is another player I have...
Daily Fantasy Hockey Strategy for FanDuel & DraftKings
Daily Fantasy Hockey Strategy for FanDuel & DraftKings Hello hockey fans. I have had many requests for an article to go over my strategy for cash games and GPP's and how they differ. I have also been asked many questions about my daily cheatsheet and some of the advanced stats that are provided and how they can help us make informed decisions when constructing lineups. Well, the time has come so let's get started. Hockey is back and with it come our NHL projections which help inform these picks every night. When you purchase a DFSR NHL subscription to our base hockey projections you also get access to our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and our Player Lab, which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings for any format. It’s a set of tools well beyond anything we’ve ever had, and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season. If you want to see the numbers behind our projections, create lineups with a single click, or research as deeply as your heart desires, click the button below to test out yourself. MAKE NHL and NFL LINEUPS NOW! First of all, I wanted to touch on some of the websites I use on a daily basis to view line combinations, starting goalies, get advanced stats, and much more. You are doing yourself an injustice if you are not constantly monitoring LeftWingLock or DailyFaceoff. Both sites provide up to date lists of every team's line combinations at all strengths, projected and confirmed starting goalies with links to sources, weekly schedules, injury news, and much more all for FREE. You can also choose to upgrade to a paid service for DailyFaceoff that gives you access to a lineup optimizer, premium chat, and more. For LeftWingLock, you can pay around $3 a year for their smartphone app which gives you all the same information including notifications. For advanced stats, I recommend using Corsica which offers a ton of next level statistics at the team and player level. Last but certainly not least is Hockey Reference which gives you free access to almost any stat imaginable for any player or team in the history of the NHL. Cash Game Strategy A cash game is defined as a contest where around 50% of the field is paid out. It includes 50/50 contests, double-up contests, and head to head contests. The first thing to realize when playing cash games is that you are playing for the long term and really need to be disciplined in your strategy. I am not saying don't ever make adjustments to your strategy...
