DFS NBA Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings – Sunday, 12/11
FanDuel NBA Picks and DraftKings NBA Picks - Sunday, 12/11/22 It's been a strange week of basketball. If you played that Saturday slate, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Teams like Brooklyn and Utah rested almost every player in the rotation, and both of those clubs played competitive outings. There's always a ton of value in circumstances like that, but it's impossible to know that until hours before tip. That's why it's up to you guys to zone in on injury reports because things change quickly in this racket. That's why these articles are a baseline for you and why they should be a building block in your extensive research that needs to be done before submitting lineups! Head on for your chance to get DFSR PRO, which will give you access to our NBA FanDuel and DraftKings optimizer, our MLB Optimizer, and NHL Projections. Plus, our new player lab! We've got you completely covered. Point Guard Trae Young FD - $9700 DK - $10400 Opponent - CHI Proj Pts FD - 55.51 DK - 59.71 Young has had a "down" year by his standards, but he's still averaging 28 points and 10 assists per game. That's why he's a perennial All-Star and why he's one of the best options with Dejounte Murray sidelined. That's forcing Young into a monster role, posting a 42 percent usage rate with Murray off the floor. That would be the highest rate in the NBA, which is scary since he's averaging 1.6 DK points per minute in those circumstances. That would equate to 65 DraftKings points if he plays 40 minutes, which is incredible since Trae tallied 65 fantasy points in his most recent matchup with the Bulls. Davion Mitchell FD - $4000 DK - $3800 Opponent - NY Proj Pts FD - 25.26 DK - 25.66 If De'Aaron Fox misses this game, Mitchell is the best value play on the board. It's rare to find a starting point guard at $4,000, especially one who's always been productive when given the opportunity. Davion has started in 21 games at point guard since the start of last season, averaging 33 fantasy points per game across 37 minutes a night. You usually see production like that from a $7K player, and it's hard to understand why Mitchell remains so cheap. Facing the Knicks is the best part of this, though, with New York owning a 27th OPRK against opposing point guards this season. If Fox is out,...

Here's what James wrote about this matchup the other day, and given that Draymond Green wasn't suspended, it still holds true. Golden State Warriors at Oklahoma City Thunder Analysis The hay-makers in this series, my god. Westbrook and Durant responded to a game 2 drubbing by pitching simultaneous perfect games. 20-34 from the field, and 21-23 from the line. I'm still speechless. Is it possible that the Thunder had the highest ceiling of any team all along, because they have two guys that can put up games like this, and not just one? Now, as you can probably guess by now, this actually doesn't change our projections a whole heck of a lot. Minutes go haywire in blowouts, and the guys we figured would be good on a per-minute basis pretty much were. As for the worry about future blowouts, I suspect things will regulate somewhat and we'll get a high-speed thriller instead of a lopsided blowout. I don't blame you if you just want to grab as many pieces from this game as you can, since they're still pretty reasonably priced. Top Plays Stephen Curry - FD 9900 DK 10700 Opponent - OKC FD Proj. Pts - 52.41 DK Proj. Pts - 56.83 Curry's final line looked generally crappy in game 3, but on a per-minute basis it wasn't a whole lot worse than what he'd been doing earlier in the series. If you think he's going to go 2 days listening to hot takes about how he might be the third best player in this series! then you're sorely mistaken. He's still very reasonably priced and should be a favorite to put up 5x+ points per dollar in this game. Klay Thompson - FD 7400 DK 7900 Opponent - OKC FD Proj. Pts - 37.31 DK Proj. Pts - 41.42 The minutes are headed in the wrong direction here, but I think we saw what Golden State wants to do with Klay in game 1. 40+...

This is the same information that James wrote up yesterday as it still applies since Game 1 is tonight Toronto Raptors at the Cleveland Cavaliers Analysis Could these two teams be coming into this game with more different post-season experiences thus far? The Raptors have played fully 6 more games than the Cavaliers over the same stretch of time, and are missing their starting center. They've been in back to back rock fights, reserving really any good play until game 7 of the Heat series, when their guards finally went off. So am I crazy for saying I don't hate Toronto's chances to at least keep it close in these games? The Cavs are relatively weak when it comes to back-court defense, and the Raptors went out and got Demarre Carroll specifically for match-ups like LeBron. The Raptors shouldn't need to rely on Valanciunas' low post scoring here, and Biyombo is actually a welcome defensive presence down low for them here. Top Plays LeBron James - FD 9800 DK 10800 Opponent - TOR FD Proj. Pts - 53.41 DK Proj. Pts - 55.54 LeBron nearly averaged a triple double in the last two games of the Hawks series, and while the Raptors play quite a bit more slowly than the Hawks, the Hawks make up for some of their fast play by having the 2nd highest defensive efficiency in the league. When healthy, Carroll is a tougher defender than anyone who guarded LeBron on the Hawks, but he isn't. I don't know that LeBron has huge upside here, but he seems awfully safe. Kyrie Irving - FD 7100 DK 8200 Opponent - TOR FD Proj. Pts - 38.54 DK Proj. Pts - 40.66 Kevin Love - FD 7500 DK 8400 Opponent - TOR FD Proj. Pts - 36.35 DK Proj. Pts - 38.79 The other two Cleveland stars are simply underpriced, here. The Raptors were the toughest match-up in the league for opposing point guards this season, but...

Oklahoma City Thunder at San Antonio Spurs Analysis Ok, the Thunder can't actually win this series, right? Or can they? I like many thought it more of a formality than a prediction that the Spurs would win this series, but that was before Oklahoma City seemed to find the recipe for hanging with San Antonio. Now I don't think you can bank on KD outscoring the entire Spurs team in the 4th, or Westbrook notching more assists than the entire Spurs team combined (something I'm sure Popovich was just giddy about), but the momentum in this series has definitely shifted in the Thunder's favor. I do expect San Antonio to play better tonight at home, but this game could really go either way. Top Plays Russell Westbrook - FD 11100 DK 11100 Opponent - SAS FD Proj. Pts - 54.71 DK Proj. Pts - 56.59 Kevin Durant - FD 10100 DK 9500 Opponent - SAS FD Proj. Pts - 43.92 DK Proj. Pts - 46.54 Steven Adams - FD 5200 DK 6100 Opponent - SAS FD Proj. Pts - 26.68 DK Proj. Pts - 27.16 For the Thunder we have the usual suspects, plus the surprise appearance of one Steven Adams, who has really been a nice surprise for fantasy owners willing to roster him in this series. Adams has seen 36+ minutes in each of his last 3 games, and it seems that he has pushed far ahead of Kanter and Ibaka in Billy Donovan's rotation. Not to mention the fact that Tim Duncan decided to retire early and not tell anyone, Adams is now frequently covered by either West or Diaw, both of whom he has a sizable height advantage over. I won't spend much time on Russ and KD because unless you're completely new to this whole NBA thing you know what these guys are capable of. Although he's more...

Point Guard Stephen Curry - FD 9800 DK 10400 Short slates are all about getting our money in good on big prices, and coming through on our cheaper plays. Without question, the big money guy to spend on for Sundays slate of basketball games is Steph Curry. He showed all that you need to know about him in the first game of the season, putting up his last season's line plus some rebounds and steals, minus a few assists. Damian Lillard is very much an offense-only PG on the other side of the ball, as evidence by Portland's dismal allowance of 11% more fantasy points to opposing PGs last season. Steph is pretty much a must play in cash games and GPPs alike. Norris Cole - FD 4400 DK 4700 The perfect guy to play if you want to spend up on Curry but don't want to totally blow your load, so to speak, on the PG position. With Miami turning its eye toward Cole (and the future), he becomes a no-brainer play as a 30 minute a night guy for punt level prices. I might wind up eating these words, but it's basically impossible for Cole to not pay off these prices for cash games (with room for much more in GPPs when his shots are falling, a la his first game this season), and Toronto's very solid PG defense really can't do much to stand in the way of his opportunity. Kemba Walker - FD 7600 DK 8100 It's going to seem weird recommending Kemba off of an 0-9 start to Saturday's game, but here goes, anyway. I think Walker's first game of the season is far more indicative of how Charlotte plans to use him than the game against a stout Memphis D, and the good news for him is, the already bad against the PG Knicks have lost their defensive core. Look for the Hornets to want to get Walker back on track after he played a reduced set of minutes in Saturday's game, but keep an eye on the potential foot issues. Shooting Guard...
