With so many teams tanking, injured, or otherwise, there will likely be a lot of savings around the slate. That means spending up for Luka Doncic won’t be much of an issue at all. Dallas is still fighting to stay out of the play-in (currently the 5th seed), and Luka is obviously at a different level. In close games, he’s playing massive minutes, averaging a triple-double over the last month with 32.5 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Few others in the game can do what he does on a nightly basis. Paying up here in a leverage game makes all the sense in the world. Scoot Henderson FD - $6800 DK - $7100Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 36.77 DK - 41.27 Dalano Banton FD - $7000 DK - $6900Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 38.39 DK - 41.48 We’ve got a couple of bottom-feeders squaring off on this slate with the Blazers and Wizards taking the court. Both teams have a ton of guys out and this is one neither organization will be all that interested in winning. That being said, the Blazers have been running Scoot Henderson and Dalano Banton for major minutes, considering the roster is down so many guys. Banton has been a popular play of late even coming off the bench, and it’s easy to see why. He’s been able to pile on stats across the box score, averaging 21.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.4 blocks+ steals over the last five. And Scoot is starting to turn it around as well, registering 10 assists last game and nine the game before. The scoring can come and go, but he’s also not prohibitively expensive. That means spending up at guard will be pretty easy. The Hawks can clinch the play-in with a win tonight and there’s a world where they are still fighting for the 9th seed which would make at least a little difference. Jalen Johnson is back which does take a few shots off the board, but it’s still tough to fade Dejounte Murray as long as he’s running the show. Foul trouble buzzed off the minutes last game, but he should be in the 40-ish range as long as the game stays moderately close. The Pistons are one of the best matchups on the board. Anthony Edwards FD - $9300 DK - $9400Opponent - TORProj Pts FD - 48.57 DK - 52.28 The Timberwolves also draw a great matchup against the no-defense Toronto Raptors and are big favorites in this game. Unlike some of the other guards, Anthony Edwards is a bit more dependent on his scoring output, which makes him a bit riskier. But the matchup is elite, the Timberwolves are double-digit favorites in the game, and the floor should be high enough at these price points. His scoring is down over the last four games thanks, in part, to shooting 1-24 from three in that stretch. That simply won’t last. Damian Lillard FD - $9000 DK - $8800Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 47.97 DK - 51.91 After losing last night, it does look like Damian Lillard will be back for the Bucks, with the possibility that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton could sit out for rest. Even with Lillard working his way back from injury if he was running the show then the price isn’t enough to really worry about. He’s two games removed from taking 29 shots in the double-overtime loss to the Lakers. And over the last month, he’s averaging 19 shots, 24.5 points, and 8.4 assists per game with the Bucks at relatively full...

That’s leaving a lot of minutes and shots on the table even for a team that doesn’t have all that much interest in winning. Keyonte George played 37 minutes last game, taking 14 shots and scoring 18 points. He didn’t end up adding all that much else in the stat sheet, though it’s tough to argue with the minutes. The price doesn’t kill you, especially on FanDuel. Meanwhile, Collin Sexton stands to see a usage bump with the way the Jazz are rolling, though there’s some concern over the minutes after playing just 29 minutes last game. But some of that was foul trouble and blowout against the Kings. On a per-minute basis, the usage was there for sure and his price is still completely reasonable considering the context. The matchup against the Cavs isn’t amazing, though I think the state of the Jazz should have us playing the two guards here. Patrick Beverley FD - $5300 DK - $4500Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 32.15 DK - 34.18 Damian Lillard is going to sit out another game for the Bucks and that’s going to mean stacking Milwaukee guys in one of the best NBA matchups you can get. Patrick Beverley played 36 minutes in the start last game, taking 10 shots and scoring 18 points while adding five rebounds and assists each. His DraftKings price is still way too low for the opportunity, and you can play him on FanDuel as well, even with a moderate price increase. Small Forward Khris Middleton FD - $7300 DK - $7100Opponent - WASProj Pts FD - 42.64 DK - 46.45 The good news on Khris Middleton is that with Damian Lillard out, reasonable expectation is that his usage increases. That was against one of the worst teams in basketball, and he gets another matchup like that on Monday. The Grizzlies stink, like Detroit, and we could have a lot of Pistons in cash for this slate. Cade’s price hasn’t moved all that much on either site, and the Pistons clearly are fine running their guy's minutes down the stretch, unlike some other bottom-feeding teams. The Pistons banked so many losses earlier in the season, that they don’t have to go into the tank quite as hard. Dejounte Murray FD - $10500 DK - $9800Opponent - CHIProj Pts FD - 48.42 DK - 52.33 Even with Jalen Johnson possibly back for this game, it’s tough to fade Dejounte Murray these days with how much he’s playing and how much the Hawks need him to do everything. Murray has played 40+ minutes in regulation in four of the last six games, putting up more than 20 shots (including 44! againnst Boston), and averaging 27/9 over the last month. In terms of floor, he has one of the highest ones going on this slate. The price is up there for sure, but there are a few ways to save here on Monday. Jaden Ivey FD - $6400 DK - $6100Opponent - MEMProj Pts FD - 33.36 DK - 35.88 It was encouraging to see the 37 minutes for Jaden Ivey on Friday against the Wizards. Getting that kind of run out of a bad team at this point in the season actually does mean something. He ended up going 5-17 from the field, which you don’t love on an efficiency level, but love on the overall usage front. The price sits in the mid-tier which does help when constructing lineups, and you get so many of the Pistons’ shots by stacking Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey on this slate. Thibs just runs these guys into the ground, and from a fantasy perspective, that’s great news for us. Jalen Brunson is at the center of that. Now, that being said, they’ve managed his minutes to some degree, sitting him in the mid-30s over the last week. Though some of that was circumstance more than plan. I’m still on him for having one of the highest floors around and he gets a great matchup against the Spurs on Friday. Josh Giddey FD - $7400 DK - $6300Opponent - PHOProj Pts FD - 37.07 DK - 40.29 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is going to sit out again here on Friday which means another great spot for Josh Giddey and some other Oklahoma City Thunder guys on this slate. He played 32 minutes in the overtime loss against Houston on Wednesday, finishing with 31 points, seven rebounds, and four assists when it was all said and done. The minutes (or lack thereof) are a little concerning, but the production was elite. On DraftKings, this is an easy call where the price hasn’t corrected. On FanDuel, it’s a bit closer though I think we can run him in cash there again. Rayan Rupert FD - $4300 DK - $3400Opponent - MIAProj Pts FD - 23.99 DK - 27.41 Rayan Rupert isn’t all that good of a fantasy player, but he’s in line for major minutes on Friday with the Trailblazers still dealing with all manner of injuries (tanking and otherwise). Rupert played 39 minutes on Wednesday in the loss to Atlanta. He finished with an uninsprigin seven points, six rebounds, and five assists in that game. Crushing it? No. But the price and minutes might win out here. If we need a cheap play who should be on the court a ton, it’s hard to argue with Rupert.
