Matt Kenseth led 352 laps and took the checkered flag with Kyle Busch as the runner up. Denny Hamlin finished 6th and Carl Edwards in 11th place. They have been really strong for the last 1-2 months and head into the Chase with all four cars looking like contenders for the championship. It's hard to imagine but Hendrick Motorsports might be going into the Chase under the radar, or at least as underdogs. Hendrick will have three cars(Dale Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon) in the Chase and all finished in the top 10 at Richmond. Another team going into the Chase on a nice run is Team Penske. Both Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano have been strong all season and have the experience in the Chase to make it to the end. Joey made it through to the Final 4 last year and Brad Keselowski won the Championship back in 2012. This far into the Chase preview and I haven't mentioned Stewart Haas teammates Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch. Harvick is the defending champ and will look to be only the 11th driver to win back to back championships. He has been the most consistent driver this year finishing top 5 in 18 of 26 races to go with 2 wins. Kurt Busch has won a championship back in 2004 so he knows how to make it happen in the 10 races down the stretch. Furniture Row Racing will send Martin Truex Jr. into the Chase with his 1 win and 17 top 10 finishes. He went through a tremendous stretch at the start of the season only finishing outside the top 10 once in his first 15 races but has only finished inside the top 10 3 times in the last 11 races. Richard Childress Racing will send 2 winless drivers(Ryan Newman & Paul Menard) to the Chase. Both have been extremely consistent throughout the season and were never outside looking in. Newman made...

Joey swept the weekend winning both the Xfinity and Sprint Cup series races. Both wins were his first on a road course. Track position didn't end being the deciding factor on Sunday as 7 of the top 10 finishers started outside the top 10 at the beginning of the race. Kyle Busch kept his strong going and finished 2nd at Watkins Glen. He received enough points to jump into 30th in points and safe for now. There are four races remaining until the Chase for the Sprint Cup playoffs begin and all drivers not locked in will have to be careful. NASCAR visits Michigan(new rules package), Bristol(Short Track Craziness), Darlington(new rules package), and Richmond(Fast Short Track). It will be an exciting month leading up to the Chase to see who makes it in and who comes up short. On to Michigan! This week NASCAR heads back to Brooklyn, Michigan for the second race here in 2015. Kurt Busch won the Quicken Loans 400 here back in June in a race that was stopped short due to rain. Kyle Larson and the #42 team had taken a risk in staying out as the leader hoping the rain would fall. He was forced to pit just 3 laps before the race ended due to the rain. It was a great gamble that just missed. This week Michigan International Speedway hosts the Pure Michigan 400. This race will be different than the June race in a NASCAR and a fantasy aspect. First of all NASCAR will be using a new rules package for this track. It is the same package that was ran at Indianapolis and created lower downforce and higher drag which in turn produced more drafting and passing. From a fantasy perspective, DraftKings has added a 6th driver to lineup building which lowered salaries. You won't be able to compare salaries but you...

Daily Fantasy NASCAR Picks for DraftKings & FantasyFeud – Cheez-It 355 at Watkins Glen

It looked likely that Joey Logano would take the checkered flag late into the race before running out of fuel with three laps remaining. Kyle Busch, who was fast all day, trailed in second and probably knew he was in trouble as he was on the same pit strategy as Logano. He didn't let up much at all to try and save fuel, but instead pushed it for the win. Sure enough he ran out of fuel on the final lap and watched teammate Matt Kenseth pass him and grab the win. Kyle still finished in 21st and gained a few points in the standings and remains just 13 points back of 30th going into Watkins Glen this weekend. It was another win for the Joe Gibbs Racing team who has won 5 of the last 6 races and will look for another this weekend. The winner of the $5K Happy Hour on DraftKings this past week had a lineup constructed of Biffle, Allmendinger, Bowyer, Earnhardt Jr, Gordon, and Johnson. A pretty balanced lineup with all the drivers finishing inside the top 10 with place differential being the biggest bonus for most. There were not near as many overlapping lineups this week which should be a positive moving forward. Now onto this week. The drivers suit up for another road course test this week at Watkins Glen International for the Cheez-It 355. With only five races remaining before the Chase for the Sprint Cup playoffs begin there will be some crew chiefs holding their breath this Sunday at Watkins Glen. NASCAR has implemented a rain package for the cars this weekend in the case that there is rain. The package includes windshield wipers, de-foggers, rear flashing lights and of course rain tires. It could definitely be a wildcard winner this weekend should there be rain but if not look for a group of drivers...

Draftkings Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks – Quicken Loans 400

This is a separate service than our traditional monthly membership.   Quicken Loans 400 Michigan International Speedway - Brooklyn, MI Welcome back for another week of Daily Fantasy Nascar. Pocono is in the rearview and the Hendrick Motorsports team streak of wins there ended at 5. Jimmie Johnson ended up being the only Hendrick driver to post a Top 10(3rd). The big winner on the day was Martin Truex Jr. He has been sniffing for that win all season and finally got it for the Furniture Row Racing team. Shout out to his crew chief as well. Canadian Cole Pearn earned his first Nascar victory as a crew chief. When looking at the Draftkings results last week it was a successful cash game week but faultered on the GPP side as I had shares of Newman and Stenhouse throughout most of my lineups. The biggest thing I noticed about the GPP tournaments on Draftkings last week was that the most successful lineups were heavy stars and scrubs. The majority of the top lineups were compiled of three stars and two scrubs. This is a strategy that is risky but definitely can pay off. The winning lineup in the "Slingshot" had Landon Cassill, Ty Dillon, Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr., and Matt Kenseth. Going into the race I would not have felt comfortable with that at all. Needless to say I will be trying this strategy out this week. This week Nascar and it's teams head Michigan International Speedway for the Quicken Loans 400. Michigan rates as the fastest track on the circuit running 2 miles long with 18 degree banking. The track provides drivers with 3 or sometimes 4 different lines to run as the track is 73 feet wide. The race here frequently turns into a fuel mileage race as the laps run long and there seems to always be plenty of green flag racing. In last years races in Michigan starting position proved very important as 6 drivers(Spring Race) and 7 drivers(Fall Race) that finished in the Top started there. Qualifying will be very important this week so be sure to check my article for updates on Saturday after qualifying and practices are over. Tier 1 Targets...

Draftkings Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks – Axalta “We Paint Winners” 400

Daily Fantasy Nascar Picks Axalta "We Paint Winners" 400 DFSR is proud to bring you our newest contributor Chris Durell. He'll be bringing weekly Nascar picks, analysis and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings. If you are new to DraftKings Nascar DFS be sure to click on the banner below. Axalta "We Paint Winners" 400 Pocono Raceway - Long Pond, PA The Nascar haulers have left Dover and headed north to Long Pond, Pennsylvania for this weekends Nascar Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway. The track has been nicknamed "The Tricky Triangle" as the track is a 2.5 miles with 3 completely different and unique corners. Teamwork is crucial between driver and crew chief throughout the race to make the correct changes to try and be efficient in all 3 corners which is a tall task. Pocono has kind of become the home for Hendrick Motorsports in recent years. Dale Jr. swept both races here last year, Kahne and Jimmie won the 2 races in 2013 and Jeff Gordon in the Fall of 2012. That's 5 straight wins for HMS at Pocono. Oh, and Jeff Gordon has the most career wins here with 6. WOW! With this being the 75th running of a Nascar race at Pocono Raceway you can bet Hendrick will come with all they got again and try and make it 6 straight. One takeaway from last week, concerning strategy, is that with the low number of choices in Nascar(43) it makes for a tremendous amount of overlapping lineups in the larger GPP tournaments. I have decided to change my initial strategy until my Nascar bankroll is to the point where I can efficiently multi enter the larger tournaments. I will be playing a cash linuep and using the same lineup in some 3 man leagues and head to heads. I will then be entering some smaller leagues with GPP only lineups and selecting 1 or 2 to enter in the larger field tournaments. We will see how this goes. I will post results in next weeks article. I am really concentrating on recording my results to find the best strategy possible. Now on to the picks for this week: Tier 1 Targets (DK Price $12,200-$14,000) Dale Earnhardt Jr. - $12,200 Vegas Odds - 7.5/1 Sprint Cup Standings – 5th Qualified - 20th How could I not have Dale Jr. in the #1 spot this week. The guy swept both races here in 2014 and finished Top 5 in both races in 2013. I his last 6 races here he has 2 wins, 4 Top 5's, 5 Top 10's, & an average finish of 8.3. When Dale has figured out a track he is...
