Kevin Harvick picked up the checkered flag as he beat out Carl Edwards in another photo finish. That is now two of the eight closest finishes in NASCAR history in the first four races this season. Have a look for yourself. I mean what more could we ask for? The racing product NASCAR is putting out there is fantastic for everyone involved. The new rules package has made it easier for drivers to get to the rear of another car and make a pass keeping the field closer together. Goodyear should also get a pat on the back with the new tires they have rolled out for teams. It has brought a ton of strategy back to the crew chiefs as the tires are falling off a lot faster during green flag runs. A great example of this was three weeks ago at Atlanta. Jimmie Johnson and the #48 team pitted early on a green flag run with about 40 laps to go in an attempt to gain advantage over the field, barring their be no caution flag. The race stayed green and the #48 had built a huge lead(10+ seconds) and held on for the win. If this keeps up we are in for one hell of a season. This weekend should be no different when it comes to exciting racing as the NASCAR haulers made the short trip west to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California for the Auto Club 400. The track is a 2 mile Intermediate/Superspeedway with 14° banking in the corners and can be best compared to Michigan. What makes racing so great here is the width of the track....

The drivers battled more than each other on Sunday as Las Vegas experienced higher than normal winds and even seen a giant sand storm that lasted several minutes. If you missed the race you can check out a quick recap video from NASCAR.com below: We are now three races into the 2016 NASCAR season and the Top 12 in standings are as follows: #18 Kyle Busch #48 Jimmie Johnson #4 Kevin Harvick #22 Joey Logano #41 Kurt Busch #2 Brad Keselowski #19 Carl Edwards #11 Denny Hamlin #78 Martin Truex Jr. #3 Austin Dillon Not much for surprises until we get to the 10 spot where Austin Dillon sits. He has been terrific in the #3 RCR Chevrolet with one Top 5 and two Top 10 finishes. It is very early in the season and no doubt this weekend will shake the standings up once again. The NASCAR haulers have packed up and headed to Arizona for the Good Sam 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. The track is a 1 Mile Tri Oval Short Track with 9° - 11° of banking in the corners. Phoenix is one of four flat tracks(New Hampshire, Martinsville, Richmond) on the circuit but brings the best comparison to New Hampshire. Similar drivers will have success at these types of tracks. Some say death and taxes are the only guarantee in life. I would add one more. Kevin Harvick will dominate Phoenix. If not for a rain shortened race last fall, he would probably have won his 5th straight race here. If you...

Click Here to Purchase Lineups and Cheatsheet Goody's Headache Relief Shot 500 Martinsville Speedway - Ridgeway, VA Track Type/Length - .526 Mile Oval Short Track 12° Banking in the Turns Another wild ending Sunday that involved Joey Logano. He chose the top lane on a late Green-White-Checker finish and on the restart Jimmie Johnson spun out which brought on a caution flag before the start/finish line. Even though NASCAR changed the rule to 1 attempt at a G-W-C, they issued a second attempt anyway. On the second restart Kevin Harvick had engine issues and attempted to slide up the track and out of the way. In the process he took out Trevor Bayne and caused the race ending crash. This gave Joey Logano the win, by inches, over Dale Earnhardt JR. who needed a win to advance. The race ending wreck also affected Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth who were both eliminated while Harvick will advance. This is where the conspiracy theories enter the picture. Hamlin and Kenseth both voiced their thoughts post race and they were not the only ones upset(JR. Nation!). No matter what our thoughts on the matter are, NASCAR has ruled no intent and no penalty will be issued. We now move on to the Eliminator Round where the final 8 drivers will fight for the final 4 positions and their shot at the Championship come Hometead, Miami. For the first race in round 3, NASCAR will head to Ridgeway, VA for a short track race at Martinsville Speedway. The track is a .526 mile short track and has been compared to and called the "Paperclip". This could be one of the most entertaining races to date in the Chase for many reasons. First, its short track racing and their is a lot of beating and banging. Add to it the fact that there could be many drivers looking for revenge with a "it was short track racing" excuse, and we could have some fireworks. Second, we are down to 8 drivers in the Chase and tensions will rise as there are 3 races...

Chase drivers finished with 8 of the top 10 finishing positions leaving those drivers in a pretty good position moving forward. Chase drivers Ryan Newman and Matt Kenseth were involved in some contact which eventually lead to Matt Kenseth, who led 72 laps early, finishing in 42nd place and sitting in a dangerous position with Kansas and Talladega left in this round. Newman got away from the contact with minimal damage and ended up finishing in 15th. Kyle Busch was having a pretty good day until a pit road mishap where he and Kyle Larson made contact when they were both making second decision on whether to hit pit road or stay out on the track. Kyle attempted to make his way back through the field after his penalty for hitting the cone but eventually spun out and hit the wall due to some fluid on the track. He wasn't the only driver to hit the wall because of the fluid. Dale Earnhardt Jr. also hit the wall and leaving the #88 team with a 28th place finish. Dale and Kyle have a giant task in front of them but both thrive off of the pressure so be ready for some aggressive driving going into the next two races. This week NASCAR and the Chase for the Sprint Cup head to Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sunday afternoon. It will be back to back weeks with a race on a mile and half "cookie cutter" track. Last weeks winner, Joey Logano, is also the defending champ of this race from 2014. He goes into this year's race locked into the Eliminator Round and with nothing to lose. The normal crop of...

It was Kevin Harvick, needing a top finish, who dominated the race leading 216 laps. Unfortunately for the #4 team they came up 3 laps short on fuel and watched their Chase hopes fade away unless they can come up with a win at Dover in the elimination race this weekend. The standings have tightened up around the bubble with four drivers(Jamie McMurray, Dale Jr., Kyle Busch,Paul Menard) all within two points from 11th to 14th place. With only two drivers safe and on to the next round, the pressure multiplies in these elimination races. This week the drivers will face Dover International Speedway for the AAA 400 and first elimination race of the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Dover is a 1 mile concrete short track with 24° banking in the corners. This will be the second race here at Dover this year so we will look closely at how drivers fared back in May as well as the previous 5 races at this track. Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. all lead over 90 laps back in May but it was Jimmie Johnson who took the lead with only 17 laps to go. He held on for the win which was his record 10th win at Dover in his career. Over the previous five races here at Dover, Hendrick Motorsports has, by far, the best history at the track. All three HMS drivers in the Chase(Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr.) have a 10.4 or better average finish. This will be the first real test for the Chase teams where we will find out who are contenders and who are pretenders. On to the picks! Upper Tier Targets Jimmie Johnson DraftKings -...
