CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE MMA LINEUPS A top-heavy card for UFC Fight Night 89 from Ottawa, Canada leaves us with plenty of options and several guys the majority of MMA fans know nothing about. As a fight fan, I want to be super jacked about this card, but I'm just counting down the days until International Fight Week in early July. BUT - as a DFS player, these cards often offer the best opportunity to capitalize on limited mainstream information. Fight Night cards have turned out my biggest scores this year, let's see if we can continue the trend. Note – I’ll be checking the comments section right until lineup lockup, so let’s get the conversation going. I mean, what’s better than talking daily fantasy? VEGAS FAVORITE ($10,500+) Steve Bosse ($10,700) Vegas Line: -150 Career Record: 11-2 UFC Record: 1-1 Record In Last 5: 4-1 Finishes: 9 KO / 1 Sub / 9 First-Round Losses by Stoppage: 2 KO Last Time Out: W, 1st Round KO - James Te Huna Do. Not. Blink. This fight should be over quick. The line on Bosse has fallen throughout the week but I'm still a believer as the TriStar Gym member takes on Sean O'Connell. Bosse's two UFC fights have both lasted under a minute, with one going each way. On the other side, O'Connell has been finished in six of his seven career losses and that plays into the KO machine that is Bosse -nine knockouts in 13 career fights as well as nine first-round finishes. There are no heavyweight fights on the card so I'll have to settle for a light heavyweight scrap and I think Bosse is the most likely to score a quick KO for over 100 points.   MID-RANGE TARGET ($9,500-$10,400) Stephen Thompson ($9,800) Vegas Line: -115 Career Record: 12-1 UFC Record: 7-1 Record In Last 5: 5-0 Finishes: 7 KO / 1 Sub / 5 First-Round Losses by Stoppage: None Last Time Out: W, 1st Round TKO - Johnny Hendricks Here's your disclaimer - I'm recommending a main event stack in cash game lineups. But, if I had to narrow down the main event (and you do in GPP), I'll take Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson. He looked nothing short of incredible against former champ Johnny Hendricks in February and a win over Rory MacDonald almost...

Daily Fantasy MMA Picks for UFC 199 – 6/4/16

Sometimes, even as a big-time UFC fan, I'm a bit reluctant to shell out the cash to order a PPV. I do it, but I don't feel great about it. That's not the case for UFC 199, we get two title fights, Rockhold vs. Bisping 2 & Cruz vs. Faber 3, and a whole lot of bad blood. We also have a ton of DFS strategy to discuss with big-name, high-priced guys at the top of the pool and some sneaky good GPP value right in the middle. Pick time! Note – I’ll be checking the comments section right until lineup lockup, so let’s get the conversation going. I mean, what’s better than talking daily fantasy? VEGAS FAVORITE ($10,500+) Hector Lombard ($11,000) Vegas Line: -380 Career Record: 34-5-1, 2 NC UFC Record: 3-3, 1 NC Record In Last 5: 2-2, 1 NC Finishes: 19 KO / 7 Subs / 20 First-Round Losses by Stoppage: 1 KO Last Time Out: L, 3rd Round TKO – Neil Magny The loser of Hector Lombard vs. Dan Henderson could very well end up retiring as two of the older fighters on the UFC roster clash Saturday night. Lombard was in an absolute WAR last time out with Neil Magny and simply gassed out after Magny somehow survived a savage beating in the first round.  Lombard is super aggressive and Hendo (sadly) just can't take much punishment anymore. Henderson has been put away in the first-round of three of his last six fights and if Lombard connects with any power punch, I suspect the lights will go out. The only hesitation I have is Lombard's short turnaround after the Magny fight. But with such great potential for 100+ points, it's not enough to scare me off Lombard - I'll be leaning on him heavily for UFC 199.   MID-RANGE TARGET ($9,500-$10,400) Elvis Mutapcic ($9,600) Vegas Line: -155 Career Record: 15-4 UFC Record: 0-1 Record In Last 5: 3-2 Finishes: 5 KO / 7 Subs / 9 First-Round Losses by Stoppage: None Last Time Out: L, Unanimous Decision - Francimar Barroso Yes. In theory I know how to pronounce his last name. No, I never get it right. If you had told me before research that Mutapcic would land here, I probably would have...

Daily Fantasy MMA Picks for UFC Fight Night 88 – 5/29/16

It’s Memorial Day weekend, we have a solid MMA card on Sunday, and get another chance to share our blazing-hot UFC picks (hopefully not a KOD) and cheat sheet here at DFSR. UFC Fight Night 88 is incredibly interesting in terms of fantasy with a pretty clear lack of guys (or gals) who scream first-round finish. There’s plenty to dig into, let’s get to it! Note – I’ll be checking the comments section all wakened right until lineup lockup, so let’s get the conversation going. I mean, what’s better than talking daily fantasy?   VEGAS FAVORITE ($10,500+) Vitor Miranda ($10,500) Vegas Line: -200 Career Record: 12-4 UFC Record: 0-0 Record In Last 5: 4-1 Finishes: 9 KO / 2 Subs / 8 First-Round Losses by Stoppage: 1 Sub Last Time Out: W, 2nd Round KO – Marcelo Guimaraes I know, there are way sexier names on this card, but Vitor Miranda offers what I think is the greatest chance of an early finish. Miranda has won three straight UFC fights, all by stoppage, and none of his previous seven wins (out of 8 fights) was left to the judges. “Lex Luthor” has the look of an up-and-coming star and KO’ing a guy with the name recognition of Chris Camozzi will put him on the radar of most MMA fans. Speaking of Miranda’s opponent, Camozzi has won 4-of-5, but none of those wins really stands out as impressive. Before that Camozzi had lost four straight and looked pretty bad. Among the higher priced fighters, Miranda is my choice to rack up some bonus points.   MID-RANGE TARGET ($9,500-$10,400) Thomas Almeida ($10,200) Vegas Line: -165 Career Record: 20-0 UFC Record: 9-3 Record In Last 5: 5-0 Finishes: 16 KO / 3 Subs / 16 First-Round Losses by Stoppage: None Last Time Out: W, 1st Round KO – Anthony Birchak Almeida gets the slight edge over Renan Berao here for a couple of reasons. One, Almeida is in the main event so he theoretically has more opportunity to score points in a decision. The second is Berao is debuting at a new weight class on Sunday. Obviously, this is the biggest test of Almeida’s career against another undefeated fighter in Cody Garbrandt. I think...

Daily Fantasy MMA Picks for UFC 198 – 5/14/16

Just click the button below, this is a separate service than our traditional monthly membership.   Click Here to Purchase MMA Lineups We head to the MMA-crazy Brazil as Fabricio Werdum defends the Heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic. Even though the fight I was most looking forward to, Anderson Silva vs. Uriah Hall, was cancelled, this card is filled with Brazilian legends of MMA and it should make for one hell of an atmosphere in Curitiba. Make sure to check out the cheat sheet this week, which has been updated to factor in the Vegas Line on each fight. Let’s get to the card and analyze the matchups in all their DFS glory.   VEGAS FAVORITE ($10,500+) Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino ($11,600) Vegas Line: -1400 Career Record: 15-1, 1 NC UFC Record: 0-0 Record In Last 5: 5-0 Finishes: 13 KO / 8 First-Round Losses by Stoppage: 1 Sub Last Time Out: W, 1st Round KO – Daria Ibragimova I think everyone can agree that Cyborg is likely to roll through Leslie Smith, but a price tag of $11,600 can make her tough to fit in your lineup. For that reason, I’ll probably be sticking to GPP games with Cyborg, you need to find a few upset/contrarian plays to cash big anyway. In terms of fight analysis, Cyborg will out class Smith but the latter is plenty tough and has shown the ability to take punishment. That being my only hesitation, Cyborg should be the super safe play that is highly owned, putting more pressure on you to find the right upsets and correctly pick the close fights.   MID-RANGE TARGET ($9,500-$10,400) Francisco Trinaldo ($10,000) Vegas Line: -225 Career Record: 19-4 UFC Record: 9-3 Record In Last 5: 5-0 Finishes: 6 KO / 5 Subs / 8 First-Round Losses by Stoppage: 2 Subs Last Time Out: W, Unanimous Decision – Ross Pearson Trinaldo is not a super sexy pick down on the undercard but the 37-year old Brazilian comes into this fight, in his home country, on a five fight winning streak. His last three victories all came against higher level opponents with name recognition, including four months ago against Ross Pearson. The stoppage number sways this one for me as Trinaldo’s opponent, Yancy Medeiros, has been up and down the last three years. All of Medeiros’ last...

Daily Fantasy MMA Picks for UFC Fight Night 87 – 5/8/16

Daily Fantasy MMA Picks for UFC Fight Night 87 – 5/8/16 DFSR is proud to bring you Shaun Ihasz. He'll be providing MMA picks, analysis, and breakdowns to help you cash on DraftKings. Give him a follow on Twitter @ShaunEyeHas Want to see how these picks and more fit into lineups for UFC 197? Shaun is selling lineups for only $5 for DraftKings Cash Games & Tournaments. Just click the button below, this is a separate service than our traditional monthly membership.   Click Here to Purchase MMA Lineups UFC Fight Night 87 gives us Mother’s Day action on Sunday afternoon from Rotterdam, Netherlands. I love the overseas cards because I can watch a main event and it's not 12:30 am on the east coast. It really is the little things. Anyway, this card has some hidden DFS value and heavyweight clashes in the co-main and main events, what more could you ask for? Another winning week? Let’s see what we can do.   VEGAS FAVORITE ($10,500+) Kyoji Horiguchi ($10,700) Vegas Line: -550 Career Record: 16-2 UFC Record: 5-1 Record In Last 5: 4-1 Finishes: 9 KO / 1 Sub / 5 First-Round Losses by Stoppage: 1 Sub Last Time Out: W, Unanimous Decision – Chico Camus I know I preach to lean on the heavyweights (and you’ll see one below) but I love the flyweight favorite in this one, Kyoji Horiguchi. A former title contender, Horiguchi has ripped through the Flyweight division with the exception of his fifth round loss to Demetrios Johnson, but everyone loses to Mighty Mouse. Horiguchi has good finish potential for his weight class and is fighting just an average guy in Neil Seery, so I’m loading up on the 25-year old Japanese product of American Top Team. MID-RANGE TARGET ($9,500-$10,400) Alistair Overeem ($10,300) Vegas Line: -220 Career Record: 40-14, 1 NC UFC Record: 5-3 Record In Last 5: 4-1 Finishes: 17 KO / 19 Subs / 31 First-Round Losses by Stoppage: 9 KO / 2 Subs Last Time Out: W, 2nd Round TKO – Junior dos Santos Heavyweights in the main event, you almost have to use this bout in your lineup. Overeem is the smart play as he fights in his home country and is coming off one of the most impressive wins of his long, long career after finishing Junior dos Santos. Andrei Arlovski was knocked out in the first round of his last fight by Stipe Miocic and I think Overeem could duplicate that perofrmance and put himself in line for his own title shot. UPSET ALERT (UNDER $9,500) Jon Tuck ($8,600) Vegas Line: -145 Career Record: 9-2 UFC Record: 3-2 Record In Last 5: 3-2 Finishes: 4 KO / 4 Subs /...
